HUGE! A little disappointed at the prices... What Frequenting these in Japan, I was excited to learn that there was one opened in Florida! I was in the area and took the opportunity to stop by to check it out. I bought a couple of cute Sanrio hair clip and of course I couldn't resist buying a bag of chips! Environment I really love the store it is very bright and organized. There is a lot of items there just like how it is in Japan. This is located in a plaza so there is plenty of parking, no need to worry about no parking available. Niceness of the staff Very nice staff. Though I did the self checkout, there were people there helping as you need Dollar Very disappointed that it wasn't Japan Daiso pricing (that I am used to).. but I think even now in Japan Daiso there is a wide variety of pricing too... This was my first visit to Daiso, and let me tell you... it did NOT disappoint. Think of it as the perfect mashup between a Japanese variety store and a hidden gem snack mart with a lil sprinkle of cuteness on everything. Right when I walked in, I was met with rows of colorful, unique snacks, anime-themed drinks, and aisle after aisle of little "I didn't know I needed this" finds, because I picked up items like "yea, you can use this" lol. Whether you're stocking up on stationery, picking out cute gift bags, or just grabbing a quick treat, you'll definitely walk out with more than you planned.... I know I didn't regret it! So far I have been here twice. I'm still not a super fan of this store but it's def worth checking out because you will never know what you find. Items not marked with three digits and a symbol are $1.75. We bought three items that were 4.25 and the rest were $1.75. Our slippers and slides were 4.25 which is totally not bad. They have many character items if you love Hello Kitty, or Mickey Mouse so that part of the store is for the kids. They also have craft items and fake flowers, school supplies, garden items, house and organization items, kitchen items, stuff to use to pack, and some kitchen items and snacks just to name a few. I can tell people love to see the Asian snacks like ramen and candy and chips and they do have it there. I didn't find anything in that section that really caught my eye, but I did buy some peach tea. What did catch my eye were random stuff like a musubi maker to make spam musubi. Also they had little tiny dipping containers and bowls for ramen, diff types of chopsticks(which I don't know how to use) You really need to read the label on these and study the diagram. There are stuff we never see. I can def say it's like a Japanese dollar tree. Yes there are items above $4.25 too but I wouldn't compare it to Five Below. So check it out for yourself. Been waiting and wanting to go to Daiso, since one opened in Hawaii. All my family and friends were telling me about it. I finally got to go this weekend in Tampa and the hype was not great lol. I expected more, however this is just my opinion and maybe others love it. It was hard to know the prices, so I didn't grab much, however what I did grab it was cheap $1.75/per item; though the chocolate snack I got was $3.00. I did take a picture of the price conversion chart though on the tags, I couldn't even see a price?. There is a self-checkout area. They do have 2 store clerks that check people out if you prefer that. Best way to describe Daiso is kind of like a Dollar Tree without the Dollar Tree prices, it's more expensive. There's so much stuff... lots of stationary, house items, containers, snacks, drinks, stuffed animals (the ones I saw were $15), a lot of cute Asian items, hello kitty and friends, stickers and more. read more

About 3.5 stars. May be just open and the restock capabilities is not there yet. I saw a lot of empty shelves. The cute and detail good are there. Price always good for this store. Quality also good for the consumer. But the carry stock is too common that can be found in local dollar store. They need to have more different item that not seen in us. Store hours is good for shop. Do you know how many times I've seen Youtube videos of people buying all kids of amazing things at Japanese Daiso's and then find out that they opened one in Florida?!?! So yes, a special trip was made to come out and see what all the fuss is about. So apparently, had we made the trip out 2 months before, we would've saved .50 on each item because when we went, the majority of items were being priced at 2.25, not the 1.75 everyone in the reviews is talking about.... and that adds up when you buy as many items as I did. I admit, I lost control a little bit and spent way more than I wanted to but another reviewer said it too; this is probably gonna be a one time thing. I got it out of my system, and if I were to come back, it would be for specific items, not a haul like I did. No regrets though because I absolutely intend on using all the things that I bought, and some of them I know will come in very useful. For example, the towel-poncho where the interior is made out of towel material so it dries your skin as you wear it is brilliant and for 2.25, great deal. A lot of things you see, and you know you can find at dollar tree, so you have to pick and choose what's worth it to you. The majority of the things I bought I know I will probably not find in many other places so in that regard I feel like it was worth the investment and again; I know I will be using all the things I bought. I would recommend it to others just because its Daiso, experience it and have fun. read more

Daiso is a new store that opened in Carrolwood about a month ago. It is in the same plaza as Tanya and Matt's Ice Cream and Bealls. It is basically a Japanese version of Five Below or Dollar store. There are dishes, Tupperware, small toys, stuffed animals, snacks/drinks. Most items range from $1.75-5.00. While there are some interesting items that you wouldn't normally see in an American store,most of it looks like it could be from Temu. I would have thought there would be more unique Japanese snacks,but I have seen most of them at Lotte market in New Tampa. The only thing that really caught my eye was Ramune Melon soda. A negative is that the self checkout and regular checkout with cashier occupy the same space so prepare to get bumped into frequently. It's cool to visit once and that's it. read more

Grand opening today and tomorrow. First 100 people that spend $30 get a free swag bag. I went and arrived 40 minutes after opening and this store was so packed!! You could barely get around the store. There was literally a double line wrapped around the store to check out. There are a lot of really cool and neat things in here so I can't wait to go back so that I can actually purchase them. I had things to but once I couldn't even find the end of the line that was my stopping point and I left. I think they come improved the first day given the crowd by having perhaps signage for where the line ended. A lot of folks that I passed were also having the same issue. read more

It was my mission to check out Daiso now that we have a location! It might not seem like much when you walk in but they really do have a lot of great items for your home or pantry at a great price! A lot of the price tags are in ¥ but they do have signs with the conversion rate if you're unfamiliar with what it the currency rate is. From plushies to groceries, there was so much to see! As I'm a person that loves to try different foods or snacks I picked up two different ramens, so Choyu Soda and of course some cute Rilakkuma keychains! The coolest part for me was their kitchenware and how they have all the small things you'd think you'd need, and even the cutest cake molds! I was so excited that Daiso came to Tampa! My daughter and I had a Galentine's Day Daiso shopping trip planned. Her first time at a Daiso. She was in heaven! Large, clean space, well marked. I am a big Daiso fan. Every time I traveled to Asia or West Coast, I always shopped at Daiso when I got a chance. I welcome Daiso with my whole heart for Tampa opening. This shop got large space. The aisles are wide. The interior is bright. The Items are neatly displayed. There are cashier checkouts and self-checkouts. The items are useful, beautifully design and durable for $1.75 ( most items). The Daiso gadgets really helped me organize stuff in my house. I also like the stationary, the self-care items, laundry items, kitchen items, art and craft items. Spring is around the corner. I am looking forward to purchasing gardening items here. Pricing is in Japanese but there are conversion charts on every aisle. Most items cost $1.75. (I was there) But they have a variety of amazing items to choose from. They have food imported from Japan. Oh how i wish there was a Daiso near where we live! Then again that might be dangerous This is one of the best store i have ever been to in a while! This japanese store has a variety of different things you can get. Even things you never thought you needed! In other words you end up leaving the store with more then expected! It a bitter sweet feeling knowing you are excited about what you bought yet there is the matter of over spending and that is an understatement, if you know what I mean. while you are shopping it feels like a roller coaster ride. I was really excited to check out this place, but it was just okay. I was hoping to get some cute items from Japan, as the store advertises itself as a Japanese houseware store, but a majority of items were made in China. Pricing was reasonable, and it was helpful to have conversion tables on each aisle. I am not sure if it was the way the store was laid out, or if it was not the store's fault, but everyone around us had no spacial awareness; I had to keep dodging to avoid being ran into, people would stop right in front of me as I was walking, and some aisles were completely blocked by people talking. I was in Tampa for the day and was sure to add Daiso as one of my stops. I have been to their stores in California and always remember finding really cool things for around the house and kitchen for very affordable prices. This location is a big one and you can easily get overwhelmed by everything, but I encourage you to take your time as you go through. The store was very clean and organized and the employees were all very welcoming and friendly. My goal on this visit was to get some things for my niece. I was able to get her a varity of Hello Kitty and Disney merch, beauty products, and Japanese sweets. overall it was a successful visit and I will be stopping by again next time I,m in town. read more

I think this might be my new favorite store. It reminds me of Temu. A lot of gadgets for a low price. Prices start at $1.75 and go up to $15.00. I was looking for something to hang up my curtains. I found something that will help with that. I was about to buy a rod too but then I remembered I already have one. I also found some tea and cans of bubble tea. The parking is free. They share it with hobby lobby and five below. There was a grocery store but it looked like it was closed. It's behind a McDonald's. I can't wait to go back and get some more tea bags. read more
