It is about 3.5 stars. Great for neighborhood near Mac Dill area. We were here for once a year clearance sale. The entire place is pack with people. The sales last three days. Each day has new items come out which allow you to revisit in this three days. The sale item is a true bargain in the bin. They are not display in coat hangers. My friends and I stopped in for their fill a bag event. It was the last day of their event so they slashed the prices of the bags, which we were excited about. A small bag was $5 (originally $15) and a large bag was $10 (originally $25). You're only charged the price of the bag as long as all the clothes fit, each piece that doesn't is 50¢ ($1 the other two days). If they do the event again, go the first day! By the third day there is really nothing special to look at. All the clothes are picked over and what was left are just random shirts someone didn't want. They have other clothes that you can browse (for purchase) besides the clothes in the bins to fill your bag. If you are looking for cheaper thrift prices, this is not the store to do that. Luckily, I found a shirt that I liked for less than $10. My cousin was able to find a few things she liked that fit in her bag. We checked out and went and sat in the car for a bit before parting ways with our friend. While sitting I looked at my cousins receipt and I had question about something on the receipt. I went back inside and asked the employees about it. Some were very nice and some were okay. They discovered that she was rung up wrong and refunded us the money she was overcharged. Which was nice! I didn't go in there asking for or expecting any refund, I was just curious. Overall, I don't know if I'd go back there. I think the fill a bag idea is great and would absolutely be worth it if there were items worth putting in the bag. Besides the fill a bag event, I don't know if I would pay the prices for clothes you can definitely find for cheaper at other thrift stores. read more

I had a frustrating experience at Avalon Exchange in Tampa regarding a pair of UGG boots. After spending $297, I discovered that the cashier had inadvertently left the boots out of my bag. I had specifically called ahead and confirmed with Cienna that the boots were set aside for me. After making a 50-minute drive to the store, I was met by a manager who was not helpful at all. She informed me that the boots were no longer available, despite my explanation of the prior arrangement with Cienna. I asked for her help, highlighting my long commute, but the manager insisted that Cienna was unavailable--even though my daughter saw her nearby. While Cienna did apologize for the oversight, the manager's dismissive attitude only added to my frustration. What makes this situation more confusing is that the same manager had been friendly during my purchase just the day before. I was disappointed to find that the boots, which had been confirmed as still in stock, were now missing. I left the store feeling disrespected and let down, and I have no intention of returning anytime soon. read more

Avalon Exchange is now on my top list of upscale thrift/ boutique stores. It's trendy but still fun and there's a ton of stuff in here. Sunglasses, jeans, athletic wear, dresses, graphic tees, jewelry and much more. I found a couple pairs of Zara jeans, which usually run at least $60-$80 regularly, for *$10.50* a piece! They have some crazy good deals here. If you are a brand name person you definitely want to stop in here. Their clothing racks are labeled, and they even have one labeled "designer". There are tons of sneakers and other goodies as well. I got the coolest watch ring from here and get so many compliments whenever I wear it- for $6! I was a little disappointed in their graphic tee selection, as someone who loves a good tshirt with cool or goofy design. Their selection seemed weird and even taking the time to go through them I couldn't find any worth snatching up. This is unusual even at a regular thrift store. My other small complaint would just be the workers- none of them were friendly or approachable, it seemed they were all on the same vibe in that way. But overall I'll definitely be coming back here to find some more good at really reasonable prices. read more

Cute selection of clothes. I'm going to Vegas for my birthday and being that I don't go clubbing on a regular basis (read never) I wanted to pick up a couple dresses at a reasonable price that I know I'll never use again. I found this place and figured I'd check it out. From online, I thought there would be more middle end designer labels (e.g. Farm Rio, Anthropologie, you know the dresses in the $100-$300 range). That's not really the case, these dresses are more in the $50-$100 range, but being that they are priced between $8 - $15 it is perfectly reasonable. I found one Lilly dress and that was $15, which was the most expensive I saw (and I ended up buying it because it was cute.) I did find two clubbing dresses that were less than $10 each and exactly what I'm looking for, so I declared this trip a success. I came on a Wednesday around 11 when they opened so it was pretty empty, but there were some people browsing. I would say this is a step above your standard thrift store. Everything seemed clean and there is a huge selection. No women's shoes from what I saw. There were also a lot of changing rooms, which is a plus. If I have an event that I'm looking for a specific outfit, I'll definitely come back. Parking in the back was pretty plentiful. read more

I Absolutely love this store and their selection! I can always find something here and the owner is so friendly. However, it seems like every time I have been (which is a lot). I find that the fitting room employees make you feel like you are inconveniencing them. A recent situation I had, an employee ignored me and rolled her eyes at me when I needed assistance. I thought to myself maybe she was having a bad day, but I work in retail and even if I'm in a bad mood I've never been rude and dismissive to a customer like that before. Again, I love this store! My fashion forward teen introduced me to this fabulous clothing and accessories thrift store in South Tampa. They have a small variety of designer merch, trendy shoes and fashions, as well as kitchy accessories (socks, rings, pins, hats) all priced very reasonably. They buy merchandise every day and no appointment is necessary. Is space is very well-maintained and clean. The staff is friendly and fun. Dollar days are the best! read more

Fantastic styles, selections, and prices for buyers. Love to shop here and have shopped here for years. Left two buckets of things to be appraised. Was quoted a 2 hour wait time and told I'd be texted when my offer was ready. Came back a bit before the 2 hour mark to check on it. Employee said "oh, so sorry you didn't get the text, we're not buying anything today unfortunately." This is fine, that happens, but either they were really careful to replicate the order and manner in which my clothes had been folded in the bags, or they didn't actually look at them. I could be wrong about this, so take that with a grain of salt. Customer service was fine, but time is money, so 4 stars instead of 5. I do recommend Avalon Exchange for buyers. :) read more

This store is fun, bright, and has a great selection of items that you wouldn't find at a large corporate/non-profit thrift such as Goodwill or Salvation Army. The staff was a bit unwelcoming and didn't greet or speak to us even during check out but as a pro, we found some great items for a fair price (high end coat for about $20!). Don't sell your clothes here, even if you think you have "good stuff". They barely take anything (I had BDG jeans, un-used urban outfitters, beautiful vintage pieces that didn't fit me anymore, etc). They literally took 4 items from the ~three~ garbage bags I brought in, and offered me $14. read more

I dropped off the clothes I wanted to sell and then called before driving back out there because I didn't want to bother driving out there again if they weren't buying any of my items. When the girl who answered the phone told me they weren't buying any of my items, I told her that they can go ahead and donate my items (there's a Salvation Army on the adjacent lot), but she told me that they can't donate for me even though they are next to a Salvation Army and that I would have to go pick up my items. I then told her that they can go ahead and throw away my items, but she said that they can't throw away my items either and that I would just have to go pick them up. Of course, I could have just left my items there no matter what she said, but I decided to go back there because I wanted my items back to possibly sell at Labelswap instead as it's only 7 minutes away. read more

Nice selection... on more of the pricey side of thrift stores though. But you can still find some cool pieces. Absolutely do not think about selling stuff here, though. They rarely give you your moneys worth vs the value of clothing you brought in. They took a few shirts of mine... from Free People, Anthropologie (new WITH tags), Princess Polly, and then pants from Cotton on. All these items were $50+ EACH that I purchased. They offered me $19 for all of it. I understand it's "30%" back but that's just ridiculous. Will never sell here again. On top of that, I've run into a couple employees who were extremely rude. My friend came in to sell clothes, and when they offered her the price for them, I was explaining to her how the system works with the 30% back or 45% in store credit, or you can keep a couple pieces you feel like you get can more of, etc. the employee looked at me and said, "Is there a problem?!" I'd recommend this place if you wanna find some cool stuff, cool place entirely. But dont sell, and be prepared for pricer items. read more

This is such a low cost, cute and trendy second hand store. Fair prices, the staff is pretty cool too but really cute skirts, accessories, and a lot of Jerseys for a really low price! The selection of *vintage* wear in this store consists of walmart tee's from 2014 that have been washed too many times. The selling process is just as bad. If you have something of any actual value I would suggest selling it online yourself. read more

This place is good for clothing (a tad over priced) but i gave it a 1 star because the customer service was absolutely terrible. Nobody greets you when you walk in, nobody talks to you or asks if you need assistance, the girl "working" the fitting rooms didn't even look up from her phone when i went to try stuff on. She asked flatly how many items i had and gestured to an open room. I felt like i was in a movie with stereotypical millennial teenagers who are constantly on their phones... and the rest of the staff were just loudly gossiping and cussing so the whole store could hear. i did not have a good time shopping here and i will not be coming back.
