The service at the Waxahachie location was the best during our trip there yesterday - Thursday Feb 26, 2026. The employee behind the counter was so nice to me especially. Our grandkids have a super early school lunchtime (10:55) and I wanted to surprise them with lunch at their elementary school before our visit to their annual book fair. It's hard to find a takeout restaurant that serves lunch before 10:30. This location opens at 10 and was very accommodating to insure the lunches were ready in plenty of time for me to make the trek to the school and get through the school security vetting process on time for the lunch period. The wonderful employee behind the counter even packaged their small ice cream treats in a plastic bag with ice to keep the ice cream sandwiches from melting as I forgot to bring an insulated cooler. I ordered one each of the kids hamburger, grilled cheese and chicken strip meals for our three. The two 5 year olds and 8 year old ate every bite of their lunches and said it was delicious. It's looks closed. We stopped to get a couple blizzards and ice cream cone but we couldn't tell if the place was open. It was night time and the parking lot and building were so dark. Dark enough that I wouldn't want my wife to go there alone. Thankfully the place was open and the drive through personnel were friendly. I guess this DQ doesn't turn the Blizzards upside down. I like Dairy Queen. Their ice cream is delicious and the food is good too. It's a little pricy, but that's the way of the world. That being said, this location isn't my favorite. The service is pretty slow, and the last time we went, almost all of the tables were dirty, and it wasn't that busy, so I'm not sure what's up with that! How does this place have more than 1 star? This is the slowest "fast food" restaurant I've been to. Unfortunately for us this is the only close location so we are forced to wait if we want ice cream here. It makes no difference how many cars are in line, you will wait a long time. In addition, your order will probably be wrong. About 75% of the time that is the case. I am not sure if it's a lack of work ethic, structure, or what... If you want something you didn't order, this is the place for you. I only ever order one of two things, a chocolate blizzard with m&ms and brownies, or a regular blizzard with m&ms for my wife. Reviews at this location have not been good and I may have reconsidered stopping by if I read them first. I would not have expected bad reviews based on our experience on 2.11.23. Wow, excellent in all areas of the experience! Clean, friendly, organized, prompt service and food tasted great. We made a large take out order and I was anticipating some delay or maybe an incorrect item. More patience is always needed these days, right? All items were prepared correctly the first time and order was 100% accurate. We ordered ice cream, burgers, chili dogs, onion rings and chicken strips. While waiting in the drive thru, I noticed a young lady was constantly scratching her hair. Once I was able to gain her attention, I told her she needed to wash her hands, and reminded her that she is in the food service business, she said yes ma'am, and proceeded to wash her hands. Last two times we have come to get blizzards they have messed up our orders. Wrong sizes and no extra toppings.

The last three times I've went in the past couple months and I've always ordered a butterfinger blizzard with extra candy and they charge me fo r extra but never give me extra ... the top will have candy but the bottom will be just vanilla . It's ridiculous how easy it is to make a blizzard the right way and they can't even do that right ... the people at the window are always snobby and act weird when you try to order something specific.. they need to get it together and improve their restaurant read more

Honestly, the place is a mess. I ordered my son a simple kids meal cheeseburger plain and dry, it came with no cheese. The food sat under the heating lamp for a good 5 mins with no one caring, I got up and asked for it. Heard multiple other people complain about waiting 20+ mins for their food or ice cream. Can see multiple employees in the back doing nothing. Ice was out, no ketchup, soda area was sticky and gross. Decided to order a simple chocolate dipped cone.... waited 15 mins for that. We usually come here for some sort of sweet but eat dinner or lunch here occasionally. It may sound odd but I really like their tacos for something other than a sweet. The main thing we come here for is the Blizzard. I like all sorts of Blizzard flavors but I usually try and venture out for the Blizzard of the month. read more

The only reason I'm giving this place a single star is because it won't let you give it none. The worst DQ crew I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. My family and I have sporadically come to this location since we moved here about 3 years ago, and it seems like every visit gets worse and worse. The fries are always cold, the service is always sub par, and the wait times are always absurdly long. Our last visit here was after the dinner rush on a Wednesday night, when their were only about a half a dozen other customers. Our wait time? 45 minutes. Apparently they somehow accidentally gave our food to someone else, and didn't notice. Then they said they'd make it all fresh for us. 10 minutes later we finally get served, and it's nowhere near fresh, and delivered to our table by an exceedingly rude woman who replied to our thank you with a grunt. We visited the DQ in Waxahachie, TX last night (05/10/14) at about 9:04pm. This was our last stop before arriving home after a 5 hour drive from Midland TX. My husband and I ordered a combo each. He, the grilled chicken sandwich and I, the catfish sandwich, our cashier informed me that my sandwich came with tartar sauce and lettuce, I asked for onions too. We received our SANDWICHES about 10 minutes later - no fries. I went to ask for our fries they said they would be right over, about 5 minutes later we had our fries. My husband had already finished his sandwich. When we received the fries I opened up my sandwich NO ONIONS I went ahead and ate it that way :/ . They say presentation is everything, I wish I had seen a picture of my sandwich, two small strips of catfish on a squashed bun, I would have chosen something else. My husbands sandwich was also not to his expectations. The chicken sandwich consisted of a small piece of grilled chicken on a, also, squashed bun. When we placed our dinner order we also ordered our dessert, 2 Blizzards. I specifically asked for these to be served after our meal. We received them BEFORE our sandwiches were delivered. The waitress took them back. We had fresh ones made after our meal. I can definitely say we will never return to DQ for a meal.
