These people are not very welcoming. They never say Hi or Hello, they just bark at you How can I help you? Really, is it that hard to greet someone with a Hello? Also outdoor eating area very stark, next to all the cars waiting in drive through. No umbrellas, no sun protection. They don't seem to appreciate their customers. read more

We rode the H-D over to this location on a Saturday night at 8p. We had one set of people ordering in front of us and they were served quickly, as were we. About 8:30p the "ice cream lovers" rolled in. We saw up to 8 vehicles in the drive thru. This location has 2 tables and 2 bench seats in the back of the store, in their "parking lot/drive thru". We had a wonderful time sitting back there laughing at how long people are willing to wait in their cars, rather than get out and walk to the wind. Neat place! read more

NOT REAL ROYALTY We drove into the parking lot at 11:17am on Memorial Day and noticed the "Closed" sign but no posted hours. I saw someone working inside in the dark. So I decided to call and the guy answered the phone. He told me they opened at 11:30am and we decided to camp out in the parking lot for 13 minutes. We had a lot of time to contemplate life. First, I thought we must be crazy getting ice cream! It's snowing in May. Not really but it was sure cold enough. I wouldn't have been surprised with all of the crazy weather we have been having. Secondly, if the Dairy Queen dated the Burger King would that be weird and what would happen if they got married. I am scared to even see that world. Is it 11:30 yet? Okay enough of my crazy thoughts. We were going to walk up to the window to order but a light drizzle started, so we decided to utilize the drive thru and stay dry. We placed our order and drove up to the window. The young girl working looked really unhappy to be working on Memorial Day. I tried making a joke to lighten her mood but she ignored me. It was a little awkward. The sad part is she walked into work at 11:27am and she was moody at 11:31am. Wow it is going to be a long day working next to her! She handed us our ice cream order. A young man took our gift card and when he handed it back to me his hands were full of chocolate. It was a little gross. I hope he washed his hands when he went back to making ice cream. They seemed to be making multiple ice cream cups even though we were the only customers here. That soft serve ice cream was over flowing. Our ice cream was good and consistent with every Dairy Queen I have ever been to. I was going to get the Oreo Blizzard but switched at the last minute to a Peanut Buster Parfait. That is my first love here. Hot fudge and peanuts on that delicious vanilla soft serve. Yum! My 4 stars is for the quality of the ice cream. Dairy Queen delivers quality ice cream. On a side note I would give the staff 1 star for there lack off enthusiasm and lack of hygiene. Dirty chocolate hands are gross. Hopefully this isn't a common occurrence among the staff and they were just having bad day. I probably won't come back here but that is because I don't live anywhere near this location. The dirty hands handing me back my gift card and receipt would be another reason I wouldn't come back. We just happened to be in the area and lucky enough to find a Dairy Queen. read more

Best blizzard ever period. On a 75 degree Villa Park day there is nothing better to get with your friends or family. The Reese's Pieces Cookie Dough small blizzard masterfully crafted by Thomas blessed my mouth. I fed this blizzard to my 95 year old grandma who's been paralyzed for 40 years, as soon as she tasted it she got up, went outside and did a 360 dunk on our basketball hoop. Not exactly sure of why it says this Dairy Queen is closed.I know it closes for the a couple months in the winter but not forever. Anyways when this DQ is open it is by far the best one around. Dont you dare go to the one on Main st. Lombard or Roosevelt Lombard or the icky one in Yorktown b/c the VP DQ is the tastiest, friendliest, cleanest and coolest one by far. The staff is always super duper sweet and speedy with your order. The owner is always thereworking hard and busting his butt to keep customers happy and coming back for more icey treats all summer long. They even have a nice picnic bench in back or walk a little farther and go to the park to eat your ice cream. read more

This DQ reminds me of a time when things were more simple. They have probably been serving the same soft serve dipped cones since the 1950's and this store looks like it has been in Villa Park since then! It is an old fashioned walk-up location that is only open seasonally (March through October??). There is a picnic table behind the store and a drive thru if you have no intention of getting out of your car to order ice cream. LOVE that they have the new mini size blizzards...just the right size! Minus one star for their new Candy Shop blizzard which is supposed to have chocolate/caramel candy chunks in it. Only 3 pieces of candy! Thankfully my boyfriend had the turtle sundae in a chocolate dipped waffle bowl...AMAZING!!! Glad he had so much extra caramel and waffle bowl that he was able to add a few spoonfuls to my bland blizzard. Next time I am just ordering an extra of whatever he gets...clearly he has better taste in ice cream. I so excited that its open again for 2013. Ive been coming here since I was six and Im almost 21 now. Its the best DQ ever and ive been to a few others. It has a lot of flavor to the ice cream. During the summer a lot of the kids from baseball come here after a game and lots of family and friends come as well. Sometimes youll run into someone you know. Mmmm...dipped cones! This location has a walk-up window and drive thru. The building itself is so close to the street that the drive-thru lines gets really backed up. When the car in front of you is done paying and getting their treats, you have to almost wait for them to pull out onto St. Charles before you can pull up to the drive thru window. If you can, park and walk up to the window. You will get your frozen treats a lot quicker that way! I haven't lived near this location in a while so I can't remember if it is seasonal. Since it has a walk-up window I would guess that it is. It must have just opened for the season because I was there last night (50 degrees) and the line was as though they were giving stuff away! To my disappointment though, it was my first day getting something for myself that I always order but they did not give me what I asked for and the flavor just want there.
