Guess what ... Fat Boy in Brunswick, Maine, Is Opening on June 26, 2026 With Some New Additions…read more Fat Boy drive-in in Brunswick kicks off its 71st season with fresh menu items, a family play area, and the return of their cherished frappes. We thought it wouldn't be open this year, we got the good news. The new owner also stated there i "a new "Yard" play area for families, including a sand pit, yard games, picnic tables, and an old sailboat hull for climbing and planting. It's always a struggle to find free things for kiddos to do all year round and thought it was a great use of the space." They are back, check them out!!

Pulled in and was greeted promptly by a young "bellhop", she handed me a menu and said I'll be back in five minutes. I was like sweet! Well 5 became 11 minutes, when I decided to see if I was forgotten. Went to the door and asked if it could order, another staff member was quick to follow me out to the car. I ordered a bacon burger, onion rings and an orange creamsicle shake. Came out fast! So not sure why I waited long to begin with. Ok wondering why I gave three stars? Delay was one. Got the wrong burger, it has cheese in it and I asked for a bacon burger. It was a plain burger, not much taste or seasoning for the burger itself. I was disappointed. Now the onion rings, excellent and the shake, amazing. I'll try them again soon to see if they can get a couple more stars

I honestly think Portland Pie Company in Brunswick has some of the worst pizza dough I've ever had…read more We ordered two small pizzas and neither one was good. The pepperoni pizza was overpowering and unpleasant, and the steak & cheese pizza I ordered came out wrong on top of that. The dough itself was the biggest issue. It tasted greasy, lifeless, and heavy -- not airy, fresh, or enjoyable in any way. It honestly felt like the dough had completely lost its texture and quality before it ever made it to the table. To make matters worse, the service felt lazy and inattentive. The table was so sticky I could barely get the menu off of it. Between the poor food quality, wrong order, and lack of cleanliness, I definitely won't be coming back.

The front of the house staff is quick to acknowledge people upon entering. The seem to be short staffed, because the staff always seem to be running around stressed. I feel bad for them, so we typicall get take out. There's usually plenty of seating. They seem to be able to accommodate 6 people somewhat easily. Any group larger, you may need to wait. The waiting area is not very big. There are TV screens at the bar, there are usually a few people at the bar. You can order pizza by the slice. Limited selection as you can imagine. They typically always have cheese. The slices are decent sized as well. The pizza sometimes is good and sometimes flat.... Flavors are usually good, which is important to me. It's family friendly and sometimes they have deals running for kids. Be sure to check them out.

We just placed a large order, big enough that it took a while and I could feel the cars behind me getting impatient. After paying we received several bags of food (kids meals, drinks, fries, several burgers plus...), yet I was still suspicious as to whether or not we had gotten the entire order, something I typically check. ut it was fairly large and that would have taken a while as well, so I said to the clerk, "...so did we get it all? Just checking because it's a long drive back if not". His reply: "You got it all sir. Thanks and have a great night". So off we drove home to enjoy a take-out dinner from Wendy's. Wouldn't you know when we got home, the two large burgers were missing!! Grrrr, a couple of unhappy guys went without while the women and kids did get theirs. Lesson learned, ALWAYS check the food against the receipt. So I called, asked for the manager and without anger explained the scenario that had played out only 30 minutes or so earlier. After listening he offered to send a coupon for two burgers. That's coupons for the two burgers that I payed-for and didn't get. As in most cases, fair exchange is no bargain, and this neither a bargain nor recompense for the inconvenience afforded me and my family. Certainly not even close to the aggravation of driving 14 miles round-trip. So I declined and said I would be in in-person to discuss next trip to the TFM rather than having them mail the coupons and perhaps get a more fair settlement. Yea, it's a small battle and hardly worth it, but I'll challenge the offer. I'm not asking for the world, but not settling for a poor compromise, nor compromising on and offer for a poor settlement. Speaking of poor, the lack of management skill adds insult to the injury of the poor and inept service here at Wendy's Topsham.
