This is my favorite Dairy Queen! They are very generous and make the best ice cream cakes.

I went by on a hot afternoon for an iced coffee, a chai coolada(?), and a twist cone - the soft serve is where they shine, I really liked seeing how many chai options they had (and the version blended with soft serve was great!), but the iced coffee was awful? Odd artificial sweetener and aftertaste. Despite the hot weather, they were not busy and service was slow. Worth visiting for the chais though, one of the more unique offerings.

They had us waiting for better than 45 minutes, kept asking us repeated for what we ordered, and by the time we got everything, the first ice cream order, which we were bringing home for a friend, was melted, and they got attitude with us for asking for a new one before leaving. People behind us in line ended up pulling around and leaving. They screwed up our payments, too. Overcharged on our credit card order and undercharged for cash. Plenty of employees just standing around, too. Really unsure about going back. We might see who is working next time and if it's something similar, we'll take our business elsewhere.

In three words:…read more Charming Edible Friendly I'm new to Butler, moved here in April from Houston, Texas, and have been hoping to find a local joint that feels cozy and has great food. Judging from the reviews I figured this place was a no-brainer. The establishment is quaint and small, with handwritten menu boards and specials all over. The post-church crowd was there and the tables were talking and laughing amongst themselves, and it immediately put me at ease. A very friendly gal took my order and worked the room with the other customers, making everyone feel at home. After a few minutes, I was handed a brown bag and sent on my way. Ultimately, not very impressed. This place is clearly proud of their homemade burger buns, but I'm pretty confident their patties are frozen. Their pickles are a little on the sweet side. Not seasoned too well. For $32 for two burgers, two fries, and no drinks, the food just doesn't justify another visit. I'll keep in mind that this review is based solely off their burger, so I may come back for ice cream or a special. But at this price I'd go to Burger Hut before Barnhart's. Extra star for the service and charm, but the food is a 2/5 for me.

The old automobile sign decor, milkshake bar, open kitchen concept and friendly staff, left a memorable impression. Big shout out to the couple, the hostess sat me with at the milkshake section of restaurant, and Lindsey one of the owners, for taking care of us. The food was plated to perfection, tasted amazing and the side salad, beyond anyone wildest dream of wow for a diner. Great portions of food, went with the sandwich special for the day. Lindsey, was engaging, great multi tasker and definitely shake master. She had to have done quite a few shakes as I watched and waited for my food. If your looking for milkshakes, burgers, prime rib, be sure to check Chop Shop out.

Timing is Everything!!!…read more I just happened to stop in at the Chop Shop in Downtown Butler, PA, during a recent Heatwave. As my luck would have it, I quickly discovered that this restaurant does not have air conditioning. I'm not sure if it was just offline or if it is permanent; however, be warned!! The restaurant had children and elderly people seated, so I couldn't wimp out and go somewhere else. The Chop SHop is a downtown Butler must-try, and it is three concepts rolled into one. The Chop Shop is a vintage-style eatery serving sandwiches, milkshakes, burgers, vegetarian fare and grilled meats. I ordered their specialty milkshake, which is a loaded milkshake that comes with everything thrown into one Milkshake. Although it was a perfect drink for a heatwave, my milkshake quickly melted due to the heat in the restaurant. For the main course, I ordered the Mixed Grill, which had grilled elk tenderloin, smoked quail, caramelized bacon brussels sprouts, dauphinoise potatoes and a blackberry brandy demi-glaze. The food was awesome, and those potatoes were crazy-good. The Elk was cooked to medium as I ordered, and the quail was tender and juicy. Overall, a good but hot dining experience. The Chop Shop has great food, great service, and one day may serve alcohol in the restaurant, but for now, their food and drinks can be enjoyed without it.

Their product is good...four different coffee styles were all prepared well by the baristas and were certainly tasty. The baristas themselves were excellent...personable and attentive. But if you're looking for a place to hang out for a little while, this isn't the most comfortable joint I've visited. There are just a few small tables with hard bench type seating. But the real kicker is that there isn't a public restroom! This old man bladder CAN'T slurp down a 24 oz coffee, cross his legs, and hope for the best! So if I'm in downtown Butler and want a coffee for the road, I'd certainly visit again. But it's not a comfortable place to hang out for a while. Rating scale: 1 - Just don't 2 - You'll survive, but there are better choices close by 3 - Good choice if you're in the area 4 - I'd drive up to 30 minutes just to come here 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here
