It's that time of year! Great quality custard!…read more Julie Ann's has been our favorite custards since moving here since 2022. It's local and a great place to hang out. Anytime we recommend a place for dessert this is the first in mind. Service is quick and honestly the greatest concept you can wait in your car and they come to you?! Haha seems like most places are doing this but because the influx of folks and people loving this place as well I think it's a great in and out concept.

The location is so small and cramped, they need a bigger storefront. I got a brownie sundae and added bananas and it was nothing crazy. There was barely any bananas for the price they charged me extra. The hot fudge was not even "hot" and the brownie was nothing special. They offered a pint of coconut but when I asked if they had that flavor they said no. I wouldn't recommend unless it's the only place you're willing to drive to.

Pickup day and time came I called to make sure it was ready even though passed the time. Person on phone panicked and said you can't come for another hour. Sent a friend to pick up. She got a round $30 cake instead. It looked decorated by a child all haphazard. Later when we cut into it it was not even close to what we ordered inside either. I called after lots of excuses and issues presented we were given a refund. I would have appreciated an answer instead as to what happened instead of a bunch of lies. I would not order here of you want a correct order and on time. So we had a cake for 18 for 50 people to eat. And a flavor the birthday boy didn't want that looked awful‍. Try Dairy Queen

And dear reader, I should have kept driving down 14 and pulled into Julie Anne's. Look, I love nostalgia and old, quaint spaces. I remember going here as a kid and I'm sure I shared a frosty concoction and cheese fries with a girl I stopped caring about a long time ago. But this soft serve came up weaker than my memories. And I got a dirt cup blitz, peak nostalgia choice, but it just tasted cold more than anything else. I kept going back for more, expecting something different, but alas. Go to Julie Anne's. Go to the freezer where they sell cakes. Grab and oops out of the bottom and have a grand dessert at half the price. La Michoacana has super fantastic flavors. They make all of their ice cream themselves and also have several fruit based sorbet-like options. There's also a bunch of more exotic/tropical fruit flavors that they get specifically shipped to them such as guava, mango and a few others I can't pronounce properly. The family who owns the store is adorable. The mom let us sample as many flavors as we wanted and often times started giving us samples before we even asked for it, probably because our faces of woah, what's that! was too bizarre. After deliberating for a very long time, I decided to go with a scoop of guava sorbet and a scoop of the Mexican twinkie with chocolate (not sure what it's really called). I absolutely fell in love with the guava sorbet because it's one of my favorite fruits of all time. Beware that they include the seeds inside the sorbet (sounds weird, but I loved that). The Mexican twinkie with chocolate does not pair well with the guava but who cares. It is much sweeter, creamier, with bits of chocolate pieces! So many interesting flavors (the watermelon sorbet is another awesome one), very well-priced for the large scoops they give you, and a welcoming atmosphere. Who wouldn't love it? P.S. Please let it be possible for me to get some of this guava sorbet shipped to my apartment in the city!!
