New location just opened up recently here in Crystal Lake. The place had a small crowd on a Wed night. Walk up to the register after pondering the menu and order either to go or dine in. We got dine in. A number was handed to us after our order and we found our seat. It didn't take long for our food to be delivered to our table and we were asked if we needed anything else! Customer service wise I'd give it a solid 5/5 they were friendly. Efficient. Clearing tables and checking up on how diners were doing. I witnessed the manager (?) Appoligizing to a lady for a longer than normal wait for her to go order and he threw in a free cookie for her. I thought that was a good sign already and a kind gesture. Food wise it's a deli and a chain. Fresh and friendly prices comparable to the common eatery Panera Bread. But some of the choices on this menu I prefer over the other. This is an excellent place to be added to the HWY 14 strip.

Seating area.

Ordered several sandwiches and all of them were very good. Mac and cheese side was very good as well. Highly recommend.

We are at several locations and had many different things on the menu. No matter where we ate at it was always good.

I wish i could give this place 6 stars because 5 isn't enough…read more Food came out fast, and hot! I ordered a caesar wrap with a side of onion rings. To start the wrap to filling ratio was perfection, not too much wrap to where it felt like i wasn't getting what i paid for and not an imbalance of a single filling inside, every bite tasted great and had every ingredient- LOVED IT! Onion rings were fried beautifully and battered perfectly- buttery and savory and just so so good each bite and fantastic portion, ate every one! My girlfriend ordered the Turkey Club and side of string fries. We ate off each others plates after discovering how each of our own food was literally the greatest thing we've had in a while lol. Turkey club had a refreshing taste and was so good especially loved the 3 pieces of deli bread! Shoe string fires were fried perfectly, not excess oil or salt and were hot and fresh, personally loved all the different lengths! Lastly and best of all, the hospitality!!! From start to finish of this meal the atmosphere was perfect, music not too loud ( awesome music taste btw ) air conditioning was nice, we came in and we were the only ones eating but still very nice. The older gentleman who took our order was funny, sweet, and attentive!!! really liked him and the other younger person with the green mohawk was also attentive and nice!! Side note that i liked, after ordering up at the front , i wasn't pressured to give a tip- i would have done it anyways but the added touch he just skipped over that for some reason stuck with me in a good way! Total was $35 ish with two drinks. All to say, COME EAT HERE AND SUPPORT A LOCAL BUSINESS!!!

They kept taking down my review on them for Google so here's to yelp. This place treated me with…read morethe worst experience I've dealt with and still refuse to go back. I ordered from them my regular burger with extra cheese spread that came on it. They messed up and put extra slices of cheese which is fine I asked if they could fix it and the cashier gave me nothing but attitude for their mistake. At this point I was done and just asked for a refund so I can eat somewhere else. She went to the back to grab someone for the refund he asked what was wrong and he just said why should I have to pay for someone's food? That made no sense cause why should I be charged for something that wasn't made how I ordered I said.... he gave me my refund claimed to be the owner who is not the owner he was like 18 or 19 years old. As I walked out he yelled have a shitty day. I turned around and told him look you're not the owner here your father probably is and I've known the owner since they opened there first shop. I still to this day refuse to go back to any of there places. To the actual owner your just a fake who puts on a smile but based on how you hire employees and ignore day 1 customers I know how you truly are. Whatever it takes to make you money right? And if that was your son who treated me that way the apple doesn't fall far from the tree they say.

Finally visited Elle's Deli & Bagels when passing through the area! This spot is a little out of…read morethe way for me but the high reviews got my attention. The inside is small but cute with an ordering counter, to-go items, merch, etc. There isn't anywhere inside to sit and enjoy but bagels are nicely wrapped to carry out. While waiting for my order to be ready, the staff were hustling to keep up with taking orders, preparing food, and were constantly bringing out fresh bagels to refill flavors. I ordered The Basic B with crispy bacon, egg, and cheese on a Garlic Bagel. The bagel was extremely fresh and I could taste the garlic flavor infused into the bagel itself as well as the topping. The eggs were fluffy and the cheese added the perfect, melty flavor. My husband got the Everything bagel with Lox cream cheese. He said he could taste the fresh salmon flavor in the cream cheese and their everything bagel house seasoning had a good mix of flavor. Overall, I am so happy I finally got to try Elle's Bagels! This is clearly a neighborhood favorite as it was consistently busy when I visited. The pricing was very fair, everything was fresh, and staff were very kind/patient. Highly recommend coming out to give them a try!

This place is hopping! It was a Saturday morning around…read more10:30am that I arrived. There had to be 15 customers that picked up or ordered in the eight minutes I was there. I ordered the Fox with a Twist for $10.49. I got a garlic bagel, I would try something different, probably everything or salt. I also kept the plain cream cheese and I would sub that next time. I really liked the turkey, there was a lot of it on the bagel. $10.50 is a lot for a bagel sized sandwich, but there was a lot of turkey. I enjoyed the bacon and pickled jalapeños. I could not taste the tomato but was glad it was there, but I was disappointed with the caramelized onions. There were not many, and they had almost no flavor. The sandwich also needed salt, something to draw out the flavor. I also got a French toast bagel for my son. It was served warm. That was $2.49. I heard about this deli because it was used for a catering event I went to. The bagels are delicious!!! The best around. The bagel hole idea is also clever, great snack for a catering tray. I would grab a bagel if I was in the area, but not sure I'll repeat the sandwich at that price point without a bit more punch of flavor.

While I have my menu favorites, I regularly try new items (the menu is surprisingly large), and I've honestly never been disappointed. The homemade chips and dill dip just can't be beat. (That is a menu item I always order!) We recently had them cater some baked potatoes for my company's work party. (We provided our own toppings, but needed someone local to provide the baked potatoes.) Teri was super easy to work with and quick in responding to my email questions. The baked potatoes were perfectly done on time and they were huge! Whether for an individual meal or for catering, you can't go wrong with Breaking Bread!
