Nice newly remodeled Dairy Queen. Very friendly staff. We ordered 2 hunger- buster combos. One with mayo , the other with mustard. Both dry. The patty tasted old. But, we were starving and ate it. The fries (medium size, but more like a kids serving) were good. The drink (soda) was almost flat. Disappointed. 30 minutes later, my stomach started locking up and cramping. Yep, food poisoning. I know this place has a lot of bad reviews, but I had a good experience yesterday! Their grilled chicken salad is good, just be sure they give you the dressing! Terrible service. It took 43 minutes to get our food. I wish I could give them zero stars. They don't deserve the one I gave them. They lost our order and didn't have the decency to tell us, instead we had to wait as others got their food, ate and left while we had to wait. The girl taking orders for some reason would not unlock the men's room, 3 people told her it was locked and asked if she could unlock it. She just told them to use the ladies bathroom. The fourth man asked someone else to unlock the men's bathroom and they finally did. It was NOT too busy that she couldn't leave the counter to unlock it. She was just being lazy and didn't care. Dairy Queen - Saddest Sundae ever - Fast Food Near Me - La Grange, Texas

Every small town has a Dairy Queen. And La Grange is no different. Each of these small towns' Dairy Queens has a variety of menu items that may or may not be available at other locations. When I stopped at this location, I was surprised by several items I had not seen before -- fish baskets (well, at least outside of Lent season), chili dogs, patty melts, nachos, taco salads, and an actual chicken fried steak dinner. Had I been stopping for more than something sweet, several of these items would've tempted me. But today was just a vanilla shake. That in itself was good -- but I was especially impressed by the young men working at the counter. One of the team was already preparing my shake before I'd even finished my transaction. With service like this, I'm making a note to try this location for the huge variety of lunch and dinner options. read more

Not sure how they handle ordering here, but we watched as several groups who came in after us received their food before ours. We eventually went back up to the counter to inquire how much longer it would be for our two small blizzards? We received a quizzical look from the cashier who did not seem to understand what we were asking about. We eventually received our blizzards, but it took several more minutes after asking about them. Service earned a 1 star and the restaurant conditions earned 4 stars, but the 20 minutes wait time for our 2 blizzards gives an overall score of 2 stars read more

Since the big remodel, Im seeing that the steak fingers are no longer the same. They are wide, flatter and mushy. The cream gravy is way too salty and still has that flour taste. Would not get this again and I used to get it regularly. If it hadnt been so late we would have gotten a refund. It was bad... The' Boss' clearly has some control issues also. We were told that we could not wait for our order at the window even though no cars were behind us in line. The guy at the window told us his boss would get angry if he did not 'move us'. Weird. First, I want to explain that I have been coming to this DQ for a long time (even with my unhappiness right now I'll probably keep coming back just to torture myself). But due to this long period of time, I'm able to tell you that ordering here is often a hit or miss. I havent picked up on the trend for what is the best date or time- to be honest I think it's all about who is working that day. Dont even bother going through the drive through. Just dont. You could order just one burger, but because they ask you to pull around to the front and someone has to go out and deliver it to you blah blah it will still take 30 minutes or more. Honestly, just go inside and get it to go. You're right there in the space and they cant forget about you because hello? They can see you patiently waiting. The food is hit or miss also. Again, im pretty sure it depends on who is working that day and how you ordered it. Order through the drive through? You're just asking for a cold burger. Order inside? They'll be pretty nice and ask you if you need anything and make sure you get it on time. Usually when I go inside and order, they are very nice. One time someone opened the door right as I was leaving, essentially knocking down my chilli cheese fries. The lady working the front was so nice and gave me a new order free. Today however, I ordered through the drive through, asked for three burgers (no fries, no drinks, just burgers) and ended up waiting close to thirty minutes, only for the man to hand me two burgers. I hate going back in and putting on my "its summer time, it's hot outside, I had a bad day and you somehow made it worse, super pissed off face." The WORST fast food experience in my entire life! This is no exaggeration. My husband and I used yelp to find this location since he really wanted Dairy Queen. Boy did we pay. They first informed us they ran out of all of their fountain drinks. Yes, concurrently! So I ordered the steak fingers with sweet tea and my husband ordered a lemonade with a bacon cheese burger. Our drinks came first. His tasted like it had been made with old well water. And mine? Let's just say that some genius couldn't tell the difference between a bag of salt and a bag of sugar! This Dairy Queen has very good Mexican food for a fast food place. They have nachos and taco salads, both beef and chicken. Their nacho cheese sauce is very good and the taco beef is seasoned well and not too spicy. My favorite thing is their chili cheese burger, I usually get a double one. Their chili is better than Sonics and the burgers are always hot and fresh. There is a drive through for convenience. The slushes, called artic freezes, are OK but not near as good as some other places. Of course their signature item is the Blizzard and they do it as well as anywhere else. We enjoy this Dairy Queen and there are always people inside, so we're not the only ones. read more

We will never eat here again. They had no fountain drinks at all except tea and lemondade, "The fountain is broken again," was the excuse. Again? Clearly they have maintenance issues. Picked up our food. Drove back home. Order was wrong. Called and asked to speak to the manager. Jasmine said she was the manager. The only solution she offered was to drive back to town and get the order right. I asked for a future discount as we did not want to drive all the way back to town. Nope! I was reading the review posted here for the Dairy Queen in La Grange and am sorry they had a bad experience there because it is on of the best place to eat in La Grange the employee's and the management team there are wonderful and the will go above and beyond to make sure there customers are satisfied. There store is always clean and the food is GREAT!! and always fresh. Sometimes we forget that people that work in this field are human and all humans make mistakes, so don't let one persons review stop you from trying this Dairy Queen it is one of the best the make there chili, taco meat , beans, and onion rings and it is soooo good. Terrible experience. First visit was in 2013 and the soda was AWFUL. It is likely made with the La Grange water which is GROSS. It was undrinkable. Went again in 2014. Ordered a blizzard. It came with two cups; I wasn't sure why. I started eating it and realized there was literally no cookie dough in it. I kept digging to the bottom to find it. I realized the bottom had a hole. I pulled out the cup and saw that THEY had broken the cup and instead of starting over, they just put it in another cup. So every time I dug to the bottom, I was further pushing through a hole and ice cream was spilling out. My husband took it back up and the manager apologized saying there should be more cookie dough. NOW I realize my debit card is missing. My husband said when he went back to order at the counter another order to go, he saw a card lying there. That must've been my card. Here's the thing. I NEVER set my card down on a counter. Anywhere. I always put it right back in my wallet/purse. SO I believe the cashier didn't HAND it back to me. I don't even recall her handing it back. I think she likely SET IT ON THE COUNTER. you NEVER do that. I've worked fast food and waited tables. You always hand change back and hand cards back.
