This review is for fast food so I am comparing it to other fast food. It's not something I get often, but when I'm exhausted and short on time this is one of my go to places. They have always been consistent and for fast food it's satisfying. I always get the basic cheese burger and fries from the pick 2 menu. I always use drive through. Another place I can't believe I haven't reviewed. I probably come to this location on average 10 times a year when I'm running errands. I've been going to DQ since I was three years old. It was a big deal in the town I grew up in because we didn't have a McDonald's until I was in middle school. I've always tended to go for their ice cream treats rather than their burgers, but their burgers are good. The last couple of years prices have gone sky high and now I have to be very selective about what I get. I usually just stop at DQ for a treat, which is usually a blizzard, a chocolate malt shake or a dipped cone Today I got a mini mint Oreo blizzard via the mobile app. You have to go inside when you order on the mobile app you can't do the drive-through, they need to change that. The blizzard itself was awesome. Super delicious as always. The packaging needed some help . They should have put a lid on the blizzard and put it in the refrigerator like they did, but they put a spoon in it instead of putting it separately and so it overfilled, and as you can see from the picture, it looks like crap, and there was actually a staple in the spoon from them putting it in the bag and stapling the bag closed. Very rude lady that was working. 2/19 closing shift Got upset we couldn't hear each other through drive thru so I pulled up to the window & seen her shake her head when pulling forward. I bought a small dipped cone. Had not had one in several years. I was shocked that it was $4.29, prices are ridiculously high, even for fast food. When it was handed to me, the chocolate covering was so thin that the ice cream was already dripping through it. I ended up having to put the cone in a cup. Probably one of the worst fast food restaurants. Every the employees was inside the resturant running around, acting like complete fools up to and including falling over each other and literally running around playing tag, we never had ONE of them come to the counter and when we finally asked for the manager, this blue haired woman came out, and actually tried to scold us for i guess, bothering them at their job... Took my stepdaughter to pick up chicken strips and onion rings . She had to upgrade her French fries to The Onion ringsBut then when we got home there were no onion rings but there were French fries. Food was delicious, service was amazing, they bring your food to the table which most fast food don't do any more. This is our first time at DQ and not sure what to expect. This place was surprisingly nice and clean. However, I gave them 3 star because the food portion was smaller then I thought. The fries that comes with the combo were way too small. Finished them and im wanting more. I felt like I just ate a snack bite size burger. If you are hungry then order two burgers and something else to fill you up. I had an odd experience at this Dairy Queen. I was waiting in the drive-through with a diesel pick up truck in front of me and a diesel pick up behind me. Consequently, there was a lot of noise when trying to order. First of all, my car window was about 10 feet away from the speaker when they told me to order when ready. In a few minutes I got near the speaker. I said, "Hi" and someone took my order. At the pick up window a young woman scolded me. She told me it was rude to say hi into the speaker. They could hear me just fine and from now on I should just start talking to place my order. I asked her pardon. I didn't mean any offense. But I didn't think they could hear me because of all the background noise. I went home a bit shocked and feeling like I was a naughty little girl who had misbehaved. I've lived in area 20+ years. This Dairy Queen makes me sick when I eat their fries and chicken strip basket and fries. This Dairy Queen has always done this. Pay attention to fries they always soggy. I use to always go to fife cause it was the better one but they started same practice lately. Went there 09/24/21 at 10:15pm. Waited 10 minutes (not exaggerating) behind a man who refused to believe that if he just moved 10 inches forward they would actually be aware that he was there ready to order. Finally Convinced him to just drive to the first window and see if they're even open anymore and try to order... this was infuriating. Just wanted a large water and a large onion ring. Got handed my food (sauce was in bag with no reminder, nice) there was 5 onion rings total, which I didn't notice till I checked the bag in the parking lot before driving home. I dont know about you, but a full dollar per onion ring is too much to spend on fast food. So I went back around at 10:34 pm. I wasn't feeling the McDonald's crave, so why not give Dairy Queen a chance. Unfortunately, going forward, I'll know better then to order food from them. DQ spells DAIRY Queen, not FQ or Food Queen. They serve DAIRY. The burger I had might as well have been frozen. It was dry and lukewarm. I probably should have been sick due to the fact that it was probably sitting on the grill for a little bit. I also got heartburn and I typically get that when food is saturated with oil (lots of oil.) The fries were cold and over salted. It was a very bad idea to experiment and ever buy food here. I use to love the "Chocolate Covered Cherry Blizzard" but for some reason they discontinued that so I have moved down to a small cone dipped in chocolate. Another former favorite was the Ice Cream Sunday. I stopped since they do not appear to enjoy making them and have cut down on what they use. I have asked for and had "Sundays" but in my opinion they no longer know how to make them. Wait in line 25 minutes to order, get up to the window, get your food/ice cream and come to find out it's not even right and not worth your money and then have to deal with rude employees when you tell them it didn't come out right. Twice this has happened. I use to go to the one in Fife til they had so many problems with food and employees. Started going here to the one in Edgewood thinking they were a lot better but now after the last two times I feel like I don't want to go here anymore either. If you're short staffed we get it, but if we wait 25 minutes in line sometimes even longer to order and get the food and your staff just want to be disrespectful and not even get what you ordered, you guys need to straighten up your staff. Including the managers. I once asked for a large hot fudge sundae with extra hot fudge (because they never put enough), got to the window, paid the $5-$6 plus for the sundae including the extra cost for the extra fudge, kid gave me my sundae and it literally had two little stripes back and forth on the top......I was like, umm this is extra hot fudge?....I was really confused, ask for a side cup of it and literally got this tiny ass side cup for the amount I just paid for a LARGE HOT FUDGE SUNDAE....mind you this was literally not a hot fudge sundae at all, it was basically just the ice cream and two thin (less than a show string width) worth of hot fudge on top....so I asked for the manager. I said I just bought and asked for a large hot fudge sundae with extra hot fudge, and this is what I got....I said is there a way I can get "more" fudge for this since there's basically nothing on it, she said no and that they charge per pump for hot fudge, I said well this is suppose to be a hot fudge sundae and there's literally no hot fudge on it and all I received was like a quarters worth of hot fudge not $5-$6 plus dollars worth. So I said well can you just remake it then. She huffed and puffed and was extremely rude not taking in the fact that I just waited a long time for my food and ice cream, paid well over $30 for everything and the one thing that came out wrong was this sundae. She came back with a new one that had the proper amount of hot fudge that should have been on there in the first place but then half assed the ice cream which was smaller than the cups edge!!! This place was really impressive. Two or three really overworked employees doing an incredible job of keeping up with the drive-thru and the dinning room. Sure they were grumpy but I probably would be too. They deserve a medal. My sons lunch of chicken strips, fries and toast was great and our ice cream was good too. Pretty accurate orders. Rarely any napkins - I'm a clean person at all times, I expect them. Food is hot and fresh, they know what they're doing. It's rarely gotten me sick. Pretty safe. Fast Food by it's nature will get one sick sometimes, that is my caveat to what I stated. No human body 'wants' fast food. Just the sensation of tasty food convinces us to do it. That's all. I stop by this Dairy Queen a few times per month (only for the desserts, have not tried the other items on the menu). Each time I go there, whether inside or via the drive-through, I am exceedingly pleased by the super friendly attitude of the employees.
