I've had a handful of great experiences at this specific Dairy Queen. Jamy did a great job ringing up my order and was very pleasant. The other staff has been extremely accommodating and provided recommendations on the food and went out of their way to unlock the bathroom for me. It has been a long time since I have been to a Dairy Queen, but I had a real craving for their Peanut Buster Parfait the other day. The drive-thru line was long, but it went quickly. The employee working the intercom was polite and even was accommodating to me changing up my order. I have had the PB Parfait in the past, but today I wanted to add peanut butter syrup to it. It was delicious! My order came out perfectly made and was huge. It had the right amount of all the ingredients layered: vanilla ice cream, chocolate fudge syrup, Spanish peanuts, and peanut butter syrup. I ordered the animal cracker blizzard. Nothing could prepare me for what I truly received. The blizzard was a shell of the advertisement; no pink frosting was added to create the vibrant color, and only a few animal crackers were mixed in to the ice cream. Came to the drive thru for blizzards tonight (4 total). They handed us the first one (mine) after flipping it upside down. The other three, they didn't flip them upside down. Oh well right? Lol. Their strawberry dipped blizzard (Blizzard of the Month) was delicious! They only blended about 3/4 of it though, the bottom was just vanilla, no strawberry. Not a huge deal though. One was supposed to be a Reese's peanut butter cup which I'd asked for extra candy to be added, fully expecting to pay for the extra candy, and with a mix of chocolate and vanilla ice cream. I strongly dislike this location. I have now been here twice in the past month, hesitantly the second time due to the negative first experience. Both times now I was handed my blizzards without being turned upside down and each time my blizzards were milk. Like someone put my ice cream in the blender for 45 minutes with a blow dryer burning down into the top. I also ordered a cone for my brother and we were handed a cup filled with the contents that should be beautifully swirled on the top of a crunchy, delectable cone. But yet, another let down. Visited this DQ location tonight in hopes for a sweet summer evening treat. We ordered 2 boxes of cherry dilly bars and 2 blizzards. When we pulled up to the drive thru window to pay we presented a digital gift card and the young lady at the window said she was unsure how to use it and that she needed to ask questions and figure it out. A second young lady came to the window where she took my phone with the e-gift card pulled up on it closed the window and went to the back. She then came back and said that they couldn't use the e-gift card because it was expired when it clearly has "does not expire" under the gift card code. We told her that and she said "well we don't know how to use that so we can't take it". We then paid with out debit card and then they proceeded to hand us our order. It consisted of 2 individual cherry dilly bars and our 2 blizzards. They closed the window as if they were just ready for us to leave. We waited as our order was wrong and she opened the window and we proceeded to tell her that we had ordered 2 boxes of dilly bars not 2 individual. She went to grab our boxes and came back to say that they only had one box of the cherry and if we would like something different. We had already paid at this point so we said we would take the one box of Cherry and just would take one box of the chocolate. She came back and only gave us one box of the chocolate dolly bars and we said that we ordered 2 and that's when she began to question what we were charged for. We provided the receipt and she went back to grab our second box of dilly bars and came back with the WRONG flavor/order AGAIN. At this point we were so fed up we just took what we got and left. I went to call the store to make a complain and you can't even call if you wanted to because their phones are shut off. Absolutely horrible service and unprofessional. This DQ is the closest location to our house. When you pull up to order in the drive thru, someone asks to take your order and then another person interrupts to tell you it will be a minute. It's always missing one ingredient or the other, or it has other ingredients I didn't order like fudge. Not very consistent and team work is not working. Will not go back to this location. Update: gave this place one last try. Ordered 1 cookie dough brownie blizzard,1 regular cookie dough, 1 Reese's blizzard. They still couldn't get it right!! We even had them read it back to us. They gave us 1 m&m blizzard,1 fudge blizzard and 1 chocolate extreme!!! Checked the receipt and some of the order was entered correctly and some of it was completely entered wrong. If you live in Arvada then consider this place a staple of the town. In summer they offer $1 slushees. I went through the drive thru with my kiddos and it's a great feeling to get a blizzard by a high schooler. It makes us feel like we live in a small town! We ordered my daughter's bday ice cream cake online and when it was time to pick it up, they didn't have it nor have any record what happened to it. The young man in the fryer was very helpful in apologizing and keeping me updated on what's going on. After the manager spoke to their higher up manager named Kris C., it was decided that they will give me a free cake whatever I wanted from their freezer area. I emailed my confirmation email to Kris C and got a response within a couple of hours. I am very impressed on how Kris C handled everything and his great customer care. I've been here a few times over the past couple months and every time they screw up my order. It is like the employees aren't even listening when you place your order. The first time I ordered 2 New York cheesecake blizzards with strawberry and I got a 2 barely blended vanilla ice creams with maybe 5-6 pieces of cheesecake at the top. The second time I ordered the same thing except this time I got some sort of chocolate in them with NO cheesecake and NO strawberry. I told them they gave me the wrong thing and after some major glares and attitude from the young girl in the window, they remade them and still did not blend them or put cheesecake. I got 2 vanilla ice creams with strawberry thrown on top. Between the attitude coming from the young employees and constant mistakes, I will not be returning to this location for awhile. As a Native Texan, I have high standards for Dairy Queens having gone to them my whole life and my dad owned one when I was little. When we moved here I was disappointed that steak finger baskets are not sold in CO. But was happy there was the chicken finger basket. My husband and I each got one yesterday. It was terrible. The chicken was not great quality. I got a 4 piece and a couple of them were super small. The French fries were not fresh and were limp. The toast was not buttered, barely toasted and tasted old. We ordered a blizzard birthday cake online for my daughter - she hate traditional cakes and frosting so this seemed like a good option. We ordered one and asked they not put any of the frosting fluffy stuff on it, just ice cream. When we went to pick it up, they did not have our order. Generally that would give the restaurant a one star review, however how they handled it was wonderful. The young man (I wish I would have gotten his name) first called the other store to see if maybe we ordered to a different store. Nope we were in the right place. This is the worst Dairy Queen ever. The blizzards are never mixed all the way, the bottom HALF of the cup is just vanilla ice cream. They put half of the mix-ins that any other DQ does, so you're basically eating plain old vanilla ice cream for the price of a blizzard. I'm guessing it's under new ownership, because a year ago it was the BEST DQ ever. I did read the reviews but I was going to watch the Fourth of July fireworks in front of the DQ so I did stop. This did not effect me, but I overheard a gentleman who waited 30 minutes for his chicken fingers. People who received blizzards did not seem to receive much toppings in them. This place is awful. My shoes literally stuck to the floor when we were waiting to order- and I'm not kidding or exaggerating. I asked what was all over the floor and they said some syrup mix had spilled ( but no one was even trying to clean it up) meanwhile 6 people behind the counter couldn't seem to get orders out quickly and were not happy to be there. There were 6 of us and I finished my sundae completely by the time our group received our order. The employees would just throw a cone or sundae up on the counter and walk away- we had to ask whose it was ( and there were many people waiting). This is the busiest little place with consistently good food and service despite the long lines that quickly form in hot summer days. Staff friendly and product good. I agree with the previous post on quality of nasty cakes from Kings Soopers! Iccky and no sign of improvement.
