    Jessica P.

Food ok but our Blizzard was a disaster, you dont hand a customer a slop mess like this. Unhappy cashier, and yes she made the Blizzard mess.. wow... grumpy, please find non public facing job. . Rude, crabby.

This place sucks!! Where are the workers? Pass by this Dairy Queen!

Customers too, people ate what they put on their plates. I use to hate how often full plates of seconds or thirds were left on plates. Eat all you want, eat what you take.

Butter Churn If…read moreyou're anywhere near Aransas Pass and you haven't eaten at Butter Churn, you're flat-out missing out. From the moment you walk in, you can feel it -- this isn't some corporate chain going through the motions. This place is dialed in. It is probably one of the most put-together restaurants I've ever had the privilege of visiting. Every detail feels intentional. Clean lines, modern touches, spotless floors, organized buffet, upbeat energy -- they hit every mark. The décor has personality without being overdone. It feels like a true family restaurant -- warm, authentic, and welcoming -- but with a level of polish most places never achieve. The service? Exceptional. Real smiles. Real hospitality. You're not just another table. You feel seen and taken care of. Now let's talk about the brisket. Unbelievable. I had to ask how they were doing it, and Mark was more than happy to walk me through his process. When brisket is smoked low and slow -- and they smoke theirs for 20 hours -- here's what happens: * The visible fat cap mostly renders down. * The intramuscular fat melts. * Collagen breaks down into gelatin. * The melted fat soaks deep into the meat fibers. So by the time it hits your plate? You don't see fat. You taste rendered fat and gelatin inside the meat. For $14 all-you-can-eat lunch, I kept waiting for the catch. There isn't one. I probably ate close to a pound and a half of brisket myself and still wanted more. Tender, perfectly seasoned, smoky without being overpowering -- the kind of brisket that makes you stop mid-bite and just nod your head because you know you found something special. You walk out wondering how they're not charging double. Everything about this place reflects pride -- pride in the food, pride in the service, pride in the entire experience. It's consistent. It's clean. It's efficient. And that kind of consistency is rare. This is only my second five-star rating ever. That's how serious I am about it. I apologize for not getting a picture of the brisket, I got too carried away with eating it. I live in Corpus Christi, and honestly, that's probably a good thing. If I lived any closer, I'd be there every single day. If you want authentic, high-quality food served by people who genuinely care about what they're doing -- Butter Churn is it. Five stars. No hesitation.

At 7 PM, the parking lot was full! I stepped inside and found no one was actually eating. Most of the comestibles were of a liquid nature. But we just wanted some fried shrimp. Maybe some fries or tots and, as stated on the menu, hushpuppies and "4 oz of slaw", on request. Besides that, it was only "deep fryer food", what could go wrong? Plenty! To be fair the shrimp wasn't horrible. But, when ordering, I was specifically asked if I wanted "4" shrimp or "8". I specified "8" for both orders. I also asked for tater-tots with one order, fries with the other. Additionally, as specified on the menu, I requested hush-puppies and slaw. That is when things went awry. I got the food to go, as we had a dog in the car and there were no pup friendly patio tables. The nice waitress brought our order and we pulled out into traffic. We soon found a quiet place to eat. That is when our anticipation was replaced by reality. The "hush-puppies" were little more than an inch in diameter! Those won't hush any puppy I ever knew. The tater-tots were only about the size of a thumb nail. The shrimp were large and nicely cooked, but we got short changed. I did get my 8 fried shrimp, as ordered. My wife only got 4. And there was no "cocktail sauce" no "tartar sauce", not even ketchup for the potato component. The food was hot though! It was so hot that it melted through the styrofoam "take out containers and even fused them together in a couple of places. There was no sign of any slaw-like food item. Our needs were simple. Our expectations were not too high. But serving all the food items ordered and paid for by a customer is apparently not in the bag of tricks at this restaurant.

We ordered a burger for my dad, a small tot, and a small popcorn chicken with me. We also ordered two shark week slushes- blue coconut topped with strawberry slush and 3 shark gummies (limited time only and came in medium. Tip: it's best to order on the Sonic app ahead of time so you can get happy hour prices on all drinks). There was some confusion about the slush at first, as we were told they had discontinued the product due to merchandise not coming in (not the first time that has happened, ahem, toasted s'mores shake I'm looking at you). However, they didn't provide us with any napkins with our order and it was hard to flag staff down. The seagulls sure enjoyed the family with several kids at a nearby table, after the kids had thrown most of their food on the floor... for us, our total came out close to $16 (more expensive than Sonic has been in the past), so I wouldn't want to be that mom that paid to mostly feed the seagulls. Next time, the mozzarella sticks. 2021 #59
