They sell smokes, eggs and toilet paper to minors. Terrible business ethic. Way over priced and very rude staff.

Today it was bad steak that was a grayish brown it was not one package but two. I spent cash and was given a lousy gift card, which you could not buy tobacco or beer with the gift card. The lame ass bald headed Manager Micheal was a complete joke about this issue,NO APOLOGY from anyone. This time I am going to the State of Michigan health department. And trust me something is going to be done about this. I have already been in touch with the corporate office in Ohio. Well people who shop this store, I feel sorry for you. No gluten free bread or anything else. If I have my say about this, this store is going to be closed. As a Certified Executive Chef I will no longer tolerate this from Kroger or anyone else. Trust me I am going to get action on this matter. In the meantime do yourself a big favor and BOYCOTT this company and all the ignorance that goes with it. I hope everyone sees the discoloration on the steak. I Wonder if Kroger is repacking outdated meat. Well Lincoln Park, Michigan you will be seeing a lot of things are going to change if I have any say about this. In the meantime time shop at Walmart or Meijer at least I am aware that they go the Extra mile for customers UNLIKE Kroger. UPDATES will be coming soon.

I was sleeping in rather than eating breakfast at the hotel--it was a Saturday!--so after my dad…read moreand brother finished eating there, they stopped by Liberati's to pick up food for lunch later since we wouldn't have time to go out for lunch between watching the Notre Dame football game on TV and attending the Notre Dame women's basketball game in person. I didn't even see the place (although I did choose it), but my dad really liked it. It reminded him of one of the Claro's Italian Markets in Southern California. I was looking forward to my slices of cheese pizza, but my brother called from the deli to inform me that they only had pepperoni by the slice. Look, I get it. Most people want pepperoni, and when you're serving by the slice, you can't try all these random combos that people might not eat. But no cheese? As in the most basic pizza option? That feels wrong. When I had my veggie sandwich a little later, it was very good. My brother had persuaded the guy to throw in some additional mushrooms. The bread was top notch, and I enjoyed the sandwich. For the price, it should have either been larger or included more vegetables, cheese, all of the above, anything. My dad really enjoyed his sandwich, but my brother was left wanting by his meatball sub. The local-brand potato chips were a nice touch. They use way too much plastic wrap.

Wow, what a great find today! Local area Italian bakery/grocer/deli that offers a lot of great…read moretasting food for quick carryout along with a large deli and bakery. We tried several items and would easily get all of them again: Pizza slices - generously sized square slices $2.69/slice; crunchy crust, small cup pepperonis, not too greasy and all together a great tasting slice but could use a few more pepperonis per slice Meatball sub- GREAT sauce and meatballs, and I am picky about eating anyone else's meatballs other than my own Off the Boat Hoagie: spicy capicola and other spicy coldcuts and cheese (couldn't remember them all) baked inside an extra large soft roll, served warm. It was VERY GOOD. At first seemed like a lot of bread in proportion to deli cuts, but it was a perfect ratio given the spiciness of the coldcuts inside. Cannoli - light shell and filling, not overly sweet. Really liked that they used a dusting of chocolate powder (not bitter cocoa) on the ends vs hard chocolate chips. This has become my new favorite bakery for cannolis! Definitely coming back here to try more of their hot and cold subs and dishes like lasagna, pasties, soups and pasta. Other than those fantastic cannolis they have other delectable pastries, breads, cookies and desserts to try. They also carry specialty Italian grocery items, a large deli with a good selection of meats and cheeses and cold takeout fridges with pastas, whole pizzas and lasagna to bake at home. Very friendly staff, consistent stream of customers picking up subs, pizza slices, breads, and 3 small tables with chairs in the store to sit and enjoy the food if you can't wait until you get home.

This is a great little market for the quick in-and-out visit. As part of our Shop Local challenge,…read moreJacob and I decided to give Pelham Market a try. I probably wouldn't have known they existed had I not received a local flier in the mail, so A+ for their marketing to get the word out! I noticed lots of brands I pay a hefty premium for at Westborn Market, so my wallet was more than willing to give Pelham a visit. The exterior of the building gives off a "liquor store" vibe, so keep a close eye to realize you're at your destination. The space is very open. It is not laid out like a normal grocery store, meaning it's got an open-concept versus miles of aisles. It's a fairly small space but not nearly as cramped as Westborn. You can pretty much figure out which direction to go from the front door. Pelham Market has a great selection of fresh veggies and fruits, all at reasonable prices. We were excited to see Sunset tomatoes, which are usually only sold in big-box stores. Everything on our fruit and veggie list was available here. If you're looking for a super-huge selection of organic-this and exotic-that, you won't find it here. But you will find the basics. The meat counter was well-stocked with some of my favorite brands including Boar's Head, Dearborn brand and Delallo. We picked up some delicious Delallo smoked turkey for only $4.99/lb, versus the cheapest turkey at Westborn for $6.99/lb. When you take your lunch to work every day, you'll really love the $2 difference per pound. Besides meats and cheeses, they also had a large selection of fresh salads, hummus, veggies and dips. They had very fair prices in their meat cooler as well. There are only two registers! So, if this place gets busy, I'm sure it'll be a pain to wait around. Luckily there were only a few people in line when we were ready to check out. The process of getting out was quick and painless! There was even an employee there to bag our items. Our shopping trip was about $20 less than we've been spending at Westborn. Sure, Pelham Market may not have 100 fancy cheeses or 12 varieties of canned tomatoes, but Jacob and I were more than pleased with their offerings of our weekly essentials.
