Likewise, instead of "would you like a receipt at all today?" might be better communicated as, "receipt?" again with eye contact. Maybe forbid them from adding the nonsensical, at all, or, today, to any sentence. And, maybe most of all, "have a nice rest of your day," is just word salad. How about, "thank you," instead? Okay, that's not something that happens just here, and maybe I'm just a mastodon longing for archaic civility and what matters to most people is that the place is clean, the food is served hot, and the frozen custard sundaes are tasty.
