This place instantly reminded me of an old diner from my childhood. It used to be a gas station and…read morehas been converted into a small restaurant. It's a fairly small restaurant but they have booths and tables available. Smells like fries food inside and it's not fancy at all. They didn't do much to convert it from the gas station and many of what looks like old features of the gas station are still in the main area. Just about everything they offer is deep fried. We are on vacation and just picked a local place not knowing anything about it. We were a little surprised when we pulled up because it doesn't look like a restaurant from the outside. The staff was very kind and did a great job serving us. The food was good for what it was but I think it is a little overpriced. The double cheeseburger in the picture was $5.60 and the onion rings were $1.90. My Diet Coke was an additional $1.19. For almost $9, I would expect more than deep fried food and there weren't many onion rings for $2. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience but it is t really anything to rave about. There isn't much else around here so I'm sure this is a local favorite. If I lived here- I might come again but being in vacation, I would try other things before coming here again.

My daughter and son in law were in from out of town. We had never been here to eat and thought we…read morewould all experience our first time, together. Loved the view, the vintage decor and the food....the service, however, is a much different story. We were greeted by Reina-well not actually greeted. We were rudely treated and she sure didn't care that it was our first time there. She came to the table and didn't say hi, welcome...what first came out of her mouth was "do you know what you want?" We ordered, she brought it. Was told a biscuit and gravy was missing and she said "I'll tell them". Someone else brought the biscuit and gravy and also the condiments we asked for. We didn't see Reina again until she came over and tossed the ticket on the table and said "pay me when you're ready". She didn't stick around long enough for us to even say we would like drink refills, which 3 of the 4 of us were totally empty. I was embarrassed for taking our guests there. We will NOT go back.

Tried to go for lunch, but they only serve breakfast now. Went back the next day for breakfast and…read morewe were offered a buffet. The buffet was a selection of soft biscuits, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes with hot syrup, fried potatoes and baked apples. They also had an assortment of cereal, yogurt and granola. The view is spectacular. Just through the trees and off of a green grass landing is the lake. There is a bench to sit on, if you so desire. The lodge is self is run down. Could tolerate someone to spruce up the place a bit with a coat of paint, cleaning out the flowerbeds and maybe removing the vegetation from the tennis court. You can tell this place was five at one time.

We've eaten many times at this restaurant and its sister restaurant in Draffrnville. They had…read moresimilar menus and food because same families used to own them and used similar recipes and etc. NOT ANYMORE. We ate at the Mayfield Majestic today and I ordered a Small Majestic Special pizza. Which had sausage, onions and green peppers baked under the cheese on homemade crust. NOT ANYMORE THERE. When it came out it looked like it had started out on a frozen pizza crust put tomato sauce on it and cheese and baked it then they put precooked sausage on top and scattered RAW ONIONS & GREEN PEPPERS ON TOP. It was awful. I talked to the little waitress and she said they have had lots of complaints and that the pizzas are not like they used to be. So I ate one piece and paid $12.00 for a pizza that I could have gotten in the freezer section at Walmart that would have been better and a lot cheaper. Now my husband had the salad bar & it was good. So I paid the almost $30.00 bill and left the pizza on the table. The little girl said that she would tell the boss about it but there was no one there this afternoon to make it right. We WILL NOT BE BACK. So disappointed. The Draffenville one is now Popi's and is excellent. Hate this. The service was very good. Wish the Pizza was!!

I would suggest you don't come within at least an hour of their closing time. I took my 93 year old mother out of Steeley house for a drive and some dinner. Arrived over an hour till closing. But not long after getting it they are bringing out the check, then coming by a couple of times to see if our credit card is set out. Then asking if we need to go bags. Hint, hint. Message received.
