Great food, great staff and great service. Their grilled chicken salad is top tier fresh and the box is full. The chicken is grilled nicely with no weird slimy fat or hard tendons. (?) I'd recommend most items such as Club sandwich, Turkey sandwich, cheeseburgers, hotdogs, chili, slaw, ffs and shakes!! It's consistently delicious. It is cash only and not open on Saturdays and Sundays. Definitely worth the trip if you've never been! read more

If you're a big person, don't plan on dining inside. I drove 30 minutes to try this place, but they have only one table with chairs (which makes it comfortable for anyone with girth), and the rest (probably about 15-20) are those pre-fabricated booths. Those booths are too small for big people. While I'm sure the food is good here, and the wait staff is great, I'll never know because the seating would be too uncomfortable for someone north of of 275lbs. read more

The food is better than anything you'll find at a national chain. I've known the owner all my life and he's a good guy. Our cheeseburger baskets were fresh, hot, and more than filling. My guess is the beef patty is about a half-pound. The staff was friendly. I've eaten a lot of food here over the years and you should too. Try a cheeseburger or some hotdogs, they're my favorites. read more

Great burgers! They fry up hand-formed patties using the freshest beef. Then they add wonderful crinkle fries and stir up the most amazing sweet slaw for their burger baskets. Their comfort food is wonderful to order and take home after a long day's work. At home, we add our favorite barbecue sauce and onion straws to make a version of the famous "Cowboy Burger" at least once or twice a month. This is truly our own, hometown burger place! read more

Best burger and coleslaw!! It's made fresh and super juicy. I love a good sloppy juicy run down my hand hamburger and that's when you know it's good. The ice cream, milkshakes, bird dog, etc I love it all and the people that work there are super friendly. It's like a small museum with old pictures and artifacts. Awesome!!!! Reminds me of the local spots back home. I got the double cheese burger, all the way... keep in mind for this spot all the way includes a chili sauce on top (it's good). The burger itself was huge! Big thick flavorful patties with 2 pieces of cheese. Basket came with slaw, and fries (or you can get 1/2 fries and 1/2 onion rings). Thought it was going to be tiny so I ordered a banana split for dessert. You even get to pick if you want soft serve or hand dipped for the split. Cheeseburgers taste just like my moms good size & thick, Fries are awesome-very similar to the Clock & the shakes are AMAZING! Chocolate shake is good, peanutbutter-chocolate-banana is better, peanut butter was my favorite until I tried the strawberry-it is the best! Great little local place, just the type of hole in the wall we love! We will be coming back!!! Was filled with locals so it must be the place to go-very friendly. I have been going to this place for years. I love it! It's a bit of drive for me like 1 hour. But it's that good. There hot dogs are really good the slaw is out of this world. I was told about this small, obscure burger place the first day I started work right outside of Union. I have to admit I was a bit hesitant to dive into this dive, because I have never worked in the vicinity of such a little-populated town and simply did not know what to expect. What I discovered was a small burger heaven that transports you into another dimension as soon as you bite into one of them. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised! I will even go as far as saying this place makes the BEST burgers in the whole wide world. The patties are thick slabs of meat and you have your choice of hamburgers, cheesburgers, bacon cheesburgers, double cheeseburgers (I have had competitions against big, burly men from the company I used to work with to see who can finish one of Dairi-O's double cheeseburgers with fries and milkshake and the "trophy" belongs to me), chicken sandwiches, fish sandwiches, bird dogs (no, you did not read incorrectly, although I have never had one, I believe it consists of a hot dog and a chicken strip in between the buns plus condiments; heard it is very good), chili cheese fries, etc. And then there are the milkshakes. My favorite for the longest time has been the black cherry milkshake, which is utterly delicious. Other flavors include, vanilla, chocolate, peanut butter, strawberry (another company favorite), banana, and more. They also have sundaes and other ice cream creations. Their sweet tea is one of the best tasting as well. One other statement I can make is that as sad as I am to live 20 minutes away from Dairi-O, my waistline is much happier! So, if you happen to drive through Union on HWY 176 and you get a craving for the classic American meal, take a quick detour to stop in and enjoy, because you will savor the memory. We stopped by here today upon the recommendation of some friends and were not disappointed. The staff was nice and friendly. The interior was quaint and very much like a small town "greasy spoon". The food is what made it all. The burgers are obviously hand made and fresh. The buns were also fresh and the condiments were great as well. The fries were about perfect and the slaw was good too. Overall this was one of the absolute best burgers I've ever had. Stop by if in the area and give it a try. We will definitely be back. read more

I love Dairi-O! I'm not a meat eater but between them and Sugar & Spice in Spartanburg, my tastes are slowly changing. My daughter loves their ice cream but can only have it occasionally. Every once in a while, we stop in for a treat. The portions are huge! Beware of the grease though...I'm not a fan of greasy foods but they also have other items that cater to those of us that don't like going the fried route.
