The female assistant was amazing who helped us. She knew the product inside and out. Worked with us to get use properly fit so our gear was not too loose or too tight.. she was amazing! When it came to Tim the manager, he was inexperienced and brash. He really tried to interject during the whole process. It really tarnished the experience. From what I learned is Tim doesn't ride, didn't know the product. With us being there, he should have just listened to his employee and learned but he couldn't help himself to butt in and give his 2 cents. Which did not add anything to the expereince except make the expereince worse. The female attendant should have been the manager because she was the one who knew the product, knew how to interact with us and how to upsell. She even told us about the sanitation machine that they have so if we do go for a ride, we can come by and put our boots and gloves and jackets inside to have them sanitized. Went in there recently with a fellow rider to try on a suit. First guy who helped me was professional and considerate, then the second guy, who I assumed was the manager was not so much. Walked out the dressing room for a second opinion and he told me I needed a smaller size because I was standing upright, which made sense. My follow up question was asking what size and height he is because I wanted to know if our differences correlated, even though he weighed more, I knew I was a little taller. When I turned my back to return to the dressing room, he stated to my friend that I had a "Tinder-ego-height-thing" because of my question. I had a good laugh about it, but Dainese should take more consideration to whom they allow to represent them. They legally cannot sell suits at the moment so I would think to ensure sales, you'd work a little harder to treat your customers well. read more

Typical of most, spend a pretty penny is worth the value for the quality received. This isn't something to go cheap on. I left here very disappointed today. Mind you, I buy all my gear here, Dainese jackets and AGV helmets. Always. I never have any issues. Hence why I return all the time. I ordered an irridium blue visor for my AGV helmet over a week ago now. I picked it up from this location. When I took it home to install on my helmet, I noticed a factory defect and took it back to Dainese. They offered to replace it and today I got my replacement. Yet another defect in the visor. I asked if there was anything they could do, maybe offer 10% and they said they can't do anything since they warrantied the item. I don't understand why they went about it that way because for me, it was an exchange to get a new one that didn't have anything wrong. These visors are $100. Italian brand. There should be zero defects. Blake didn't want me to leave unhappy today so he approved a 10% discount on my next purchase and that is why I'm writing this review so they stick to their word. I do appreciate all the help they did for me but unfortunately I left very unhappy today. $100 and another defect. That's not good. read more

I am new to riding. I bought a bike a few months ago and I want to ride safe. I like my skin, so I wanna protect it. I went into Dainese and told them I knew very little and needed help. BLAKE G.... that's all I gotta day. This dude went above and beyond to help me out. I wanted ladies' pants because they are so hard to find. He told me that I was in luck and that they had a special going. He showed me a sales rack that had soooo many pants my size. Lucky me that a lot of 5 foot, 135lb girls don't ride. . Blake spent over 2 hours with me discussing pants, the A - AAA rating on them. Looked up stats for the ratings. I wanted to get a suit for track days. (Don't make fun... I want to improve before I get bad habits that stick). He found a suit that fits me, and this thing was 55% off!! Plus, an additional % due to the sale going on. Both of my pants that I bought and a shirt and hat (love the hat) ...I saved over $750 bucks on the additional gear and about $900 on the suit because of Blake!! Everyone there was friendly, helpful, and super patient with my questions. I am little and a girl, so at times, I feel I won't be taken seriously when I am looking for bike stuff, and I felt like I had known then for years. I always love coming to this particular store for all my motorcycle gear needs! Not only does this store have a larger inventory of products compared to other Dainese stores, but they have sales throughout the year that other stores don't, so its always the icing on the cake when I'm able to score a great deal. Plus, the staff is always so friendly and they always go out of their way to ensure I have the right gear. They never try to convince me to buy items that I don't need or want, either. I bought my Estrema Air jacket and my Metropolis D-WP shoes here. I love this store, always greeted and helped the moment I walk in. They have a large selection of jackets, helmets, pants, race suits, shoes, and other accessories/gear. For the many times that I've been here all of the workers have been willing to help, and assisted me in purchasing the right stuff. You can try on anything before you buy it, and there's a fitting area towards the back where the suits are. One of the many perks of owning any Dainese/AGV gear is that they offer free sanitation/deodorizing of your gear (Which I did today). You drop off whatever gear you have, and they throw it in this "chamber" where the job gets done. In about 30 minutes you have a non-smelly jacket or whatever you dropped off. This is different than an actual cleaning, but, cleaning is only $15 IIRC. Sometimes there are events that happen here, like today was the British MotoGP viewing party. There's some seating available and other chairs to sit on so you can enjoy the action. Beverages were available as well. Parking is plentiful, and the store is conveniently located to a (somewhat) busy car wash. I always see supercars and other nice cars getting their wash there, so it might be something to consider if you end up driving to the Dainese store instead of riding there. read more

I hate to write a review like this but I feel I have to warn others about the issue with getting service on D-Air products at Dainese and the lack of proper follow-up by the Costa Mesa store in particular. For the second time, I had to bring in my D-Air Jacket (vest) for a malfunction of the activation clasp - jacket wouldn't turn on. I have now been waiting 11 weeks for a return of the jacket. I have been in touch with the store twice in that last month to inquire on the return date. Each time, I'm assured that someone will look into it for me but nothing happens. The last 2 times I phoned the store, call went to voicemail. After leaving a detailed voicemail, still no response. I like Dainese products and have always had a good experience in the Costa Mesa store when making a purchase. The issue with product quality and serviceability of the products is the main reason for this negative review. Suffice it to say, I will never buy another D-Air product from Dainese again. read more

Still five stars after all these years. Came in to buy a few boots for street and for track and Tom and Sean took care of me as always. The store is still in immaculate condition after the remodel and the inventory is always changing. I will say though that I've noticed over the past couple years that the retail/casual/street clothing options have grown tremendously so even you don't ride but you like the brand, you can shop here with a fair amount of stuff to choose from. Personally, I come mainly for helmets, gloves, and boots. Jackets don't fit me right but that's not Dainese's fault; I'm just not built properly. The custom works shop is still in full swing though it seems pretty quiet whenever I visit. There are events being held here along with group rides and local support events for women riders and new riders alike. Prices are at a premium but that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone coming in here. Sales are always good to ask about and if you're a regular or thinking about becoming a regular, I suggest you sign up their newsletter because they send out pretty great info now and then. Worst customer service ever! Never going back! Brought in my helmet to buy a new pin lock. They said they'll ship me the "correct" pin lock since they still need to order it. (I also ordered the visor there too and they installed it couple years ago.) so I got the pin lock, and tried putting it on and they ordered the wrong one. I told them to send me a new shipping label so I can return it and also asked them to ship me the correct one. And they refused! They refused to work with me in any way. the store manager CLARK talked to me in a very rude, disrespectful, and immature way. I should've listen to my colleague on how they treat customers, apparently they won't try or do anything to work with you. If you're planning to deal with the store manager CLARK. This is my new favorite motorcycle gear shop. I was pleasantly surprised how big the store is and the selection of items that they carry. You can try anything on Dainese brand makes and then purchase it there since they will match Revzilla or competitor prices. Brandon was helping me out today to get my first race suit. I love me some Dainese leather goods. If you have never been to a D store then it's good to know that each location has its own fengshui, and this one I really enjoy. Head shots of some great riders; Sic (RIP), Foggy, Schwantz, and the like. Some larger action shots of Vale, KS34, and Ago can also be found throughout the store. They also have two suits from the Roman Emperor...you know, that other guys would couldn't beat Rossi. Shirts, and other non-riding accessories are probably the easiest to get into in terms of price but if you're here then you know the deal. Gloves, suits, jackets, boots, and AGV lids are the star of the show. There is something for every budget and every style; naked, cruiser, full-faring, touring, etc. They also have a service and repair shop on-site...first time I have seen one of those. read more

Been awhile since I stepped into this store. I have so many memories here. From all the Moto GP events with Tom + the crew back in the days to getting my whole squad laced out in gear head to toe, saving them thousands of dollars of hospital bills. This time it was introducing my buddy Carter to the art of motorcycling. He values the finer things, as well as his life, so it took no nudging to get him into a D-Air Jacket (priced almost 50% on sale) a matte black K6 helmet and some kicks + gloves to go with it. As with most purchases here at the OC D-Store, his card wouldn't click through for the 3 racks so we had to return after the Angels game to slide back with cash. We got back maybe 30 mins before, the guys probably thought we were bs-ing them, and we just so happened to add another D-Air jacket to our tab before we left as a snagged a 54 Tuono on the outlet rack at 30% off before leaving. Jordan was a solid sales guy with a boat load of knowledge on protection equipment and Rick is doing a great job as the new GM in Newport. I came in to shop around for my track gear, and was pleasantly surprised. My first impression when stepping foot in the store was "wow, this place is uber nice..." The presentation and arrangement of the store is definitely on par with the quality of their products. The wonderful aroma of leather is unmistakable and impossible to wipe the grin off your face. I was helped by Shawn, who was incredibly friendly and down to earth. Very very helpful when trying on different suits for my specific needs. He didn't try to up sell me on anything, and was very honest in what he recommended for my riding habits. All the suits were great, and it's no wonder how Dainese gets their reputation for high-quality leathers. It was also super helpful to actually sit down on a motorcycle, and test out how each would feel in a tuck position. Overall, if you're serious about riding you should definitely come in here. I will warn you, the prices are definitely not cheap. However, if you're a rider then you should already be familiar with the prices of good track gear. The prices were actually better than I was expecting! However it's still pretty expensive to get into a full track gear setup. Either way, come check them out. This review is actually for the corporate office and customer service for online orders. Purchased a Smart Jacket on black Friday and it arrives after Christmas, used. The plug to charge it wasn't even the right plug. Registered to return in online and here's where it went down hill. Apparently the stores and online /corporate orders are on different systems. If you initiate a return online, you can not exchange or return it in the store. Trip wasted. Contacted corporate and they said no problem, mail it back and we'll make sure you get a discount code for 30% off to match the price I purchased it at. Return sent and over the next 6 weeks, I received three codes that did not work, was blamed for not using the codes correctly or fast enough, and was referred to "corporate" because they finally admitted they can't figure it out. Ordered another Smart Jacket with gloves during a flash sale at a higher price hoping they can simply adjust the price. Jacket shows up but no gloves. Giving them the COVID benefit of the doubt, I e-mailed them three weeks later to see when the gloves would be shipped. The cost was refunded with zero e-mail or explanation why. Corporate never responded, customer service stopped replying, I simply can not believe how F'd up a company that makes such beautiful product can be. Anything happen to me on the bike, my attorney has specific instructions to sue the F out of Dainese. Hey, at least the guys that work the retail stores are awesome!
