Plus they will turn around and sell it with 200% to 600% markup. However, I've found the owner/mngr is a straight forward guy...hard core, still more honorable then the others in town. I've seen other pawn shops straight out lie about what your really selling them, so know your stuff before you go in. This pawn shop seems more on the mark, but be aware of all things concerning selling versus payback loans. You can expect huge loan payback fees. Like we're talking up to 240%! So, if you choose to make payments past the first thirty days, read your contract! Don't let them hurry you or pretend their time's more important then your welfare...the rate is compounded daily, after the 30 day clause! It would be better to go get a "Bad Credit" credit card offer, because credit card companies are more strongly regulated on how much they can take from your pocket for use of their money. If you want to sell something, that's cool, but know your paying massive payback on pawning for loans. They suggest their paying you the set daily value on gold, but give nothing for stones other then diamonds and that's certainly not set at market value! This particular pawn shop does have a fairly straight forward mngr, but CAN BE a little demanding, which I would think you'd have to be with all the different characters coming in...I think you'd become jaded in that industry. Also, there are a few nice and helpful sales people there at Monroe Mister Money.

I needed a watch for my battery so thought I'd try Sather's. What a wonderful experience....they got me taken care of right away (instead of having to wait weeks to get my watch back) and the cost was in very cheap! I've since taken in jewelry here for small repairs and everyone has been incredibly kind and very helpful. They don't make me feel ashamed when i bring in an inexpensive piece of jewelry for repair, but still has sentimental value. And they always offer to clean my jewelry I have on for free while I wait. Today I had the pleasure of being helped by Geneva and she was wonderful and carefully examined and cleaned the jewelry I had in today. I could not recommend them more. Just all around wonderful people, all of them.

Regardless, I came up here on Record Store Day (today) a little after 11am and there was still a little bit of a line. After a quick 5 minute wait and a wonderful greeting I was in! First time there and certainly not the last. Found the other albums I was looking for and then some. I liked that they separate albums/artists by genre and it makes for super easy finds! Imagine finding Metallica sitting next to Metallica...that's a no from me dawg. (a'la Randy Jackson) Everyone was super helpful and the entire uplifting vibe was great! Will be heading back some time soon for more record hunting!

When we finally played one, it was noticeably warped to the point of skipping and was completely unplayable. The other record was perfect. When we returned to the store, we explained the situation showed the staff a video clearly demonstrating the issue. The employee's tone noticeably shifted when he saw how bad it was, but he still told us they don't accept returns, his only advice was to try home remedies or pay someone to flatten it. For a brand-new purchase, that's unacceptable. We've shopped here on occasion, but after this experience, my wife refuses to buy from them again, worried we might end up with another defective record and no way to exchange it. A good record shop should stand behind what they sell. If anything they should provide the service to flatten vinyls themselves.

There's a decent collection of various gemstone jewelry, mostly pendants and earrings. The pendants, I believe, are crafted together by those with disabilities so the story behind it is cool. I got a simple wire-wrapped pendant (chains are sold separately) for $12 and a 18" sterling silver chain for $18. The store also has salt rock lamps and various loose polished stones, and small-med sized decorative standalone gemstones as well. Support local and check them out, it's definitely a great place to consider for gift buying or if you're looking for something for yourself :)
