At other places I've been to, the foot soak is usually paired with a scalp or face massage, so this felt like lost time -- especially since I had arrived early to use the restroom so we could start on time. The foot massage itself was actually uncomfortable. The therapist wore gloves, which I've come to expect, but instead of massage oil they used Vaseline. I've never had that used before, and it created a lot of friction rather than glide, which made the massage feel rough instead of relaxing. Afterward I was moved to the table for the upper body portion. I've had similar services elsewhere that include neck, shoulders, and even face work, but none of those areas were addressed here. The paper covering where you place your face was also very scratchy, to the point I had to rest my face on my hands to stay comfortable.
