Got home and heated it for part of the family dinner and it was MEAT PIES. We do not eat meat and you are too lazy to place the name of what is inside on the outside. If it was labeled properly I would have seen it. Had to throw them away. Not a great choice for good middle eastern food and poor service. Upon ordering a simple felafel sandwich, they served up cold dry felafel balls, and wanted to charge extra for a shmear of hummus. After paying their high prices, we asked for freshly made felafel and we were told they would "warm it up". What came back were 3 hard tasteless balls that had the consistency of a hockey puck. When we asked for freshly made felafel - they told us it was too late in the day - and they were no longer making any more. This was at 7pm - a few hours before closing - in the heart of dinner time. Instead of making a fuss in public - we threw out the felafel and ate the pita and veggies inside. This is NOT the first time that this has happened. This place is great for Mediterranean food. You come in and order at the counter and take your food to one of the tables. The people are friendly and have good recommendations. My friend is vegan and they gave her plenty of options to pick from. They have bowls you can make or eat your food as a platter. I had the Mediterranean bowl with falafels and it was fantastic. I love The Daily Bread! It's conveniently located right off US-1 and there's ample parking available. The food is always fresh and they give a good amount. I had the chicken salad which comes with lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, red and green peppers, pickled cabbage and cucumber. For those of you that like eating with your eyes, it has great color variety! The pickled cabbage adds a great ~slight~ acidic taste. It's a good amount and filling, but doesn't make you feel "nasty" full after. You know, like when you eat and feel nasty full, and question yourself why you just ate all that food. It's very refreshing! I've had their other offerings like the Gyro platter and Pita Wrap. The rice pilaf is amazing!! The service is great too, they always have a smile on their face. Disappointing! We were excited to try something new and previous reviews were good. Quality and attention to detail have definitely gone down. The Gyro platter was missing the pita and the sauce I received, that should have been tzatziki, was yellow and tasted like tarter sauce. I'm not sure what it was. We paid for an extra DB sauce. We only received one sauce so maybe that is what it was. However, the main sauce requested was the tzatziki. Meat was really dry so the whole meal was disappointing. My mom has stomach issues so had to order her chicken gyro without tomato due to the acid. Unfortunately, she had tomato that she had to pick out. It was easier than you would expect because it was hard and not yet ripe. Won't bother to order from here again. read more

I was first introduced to this spot in the grove, but was pleasantly surprised to learn that there was another location down in Pinecrest by my place. I had been told that this location wasn't as good, but I've been here countless times and have never seen any evidence of that. It's a specialty store with premade food packaged and refrigerated and there is also a cafeteria style counter where you can get stuffed pitas, platters and all sorts of goodies. There are a few tables outside but we generally take our food to go. Boyfriend and I are big on mediterranean food so we never leave with less that 2 bags of stuff. What is our typical haul? Well, first you gotta stop by the fridge section in the back, pick up some baba ganoush, hummus (regular or red pepper), stuffed cabbages (soooooo good, really, you have to try it), tzatziki and grape leaves (meat or veg, both are delicious). Make sure to take a stroll through the shelves and look at all the middle eastern pantry staples they offer, including falafel mix and spices, nuts and teas, you name it. Once you get to the food counter, you need to ask for a packet of their fresh pita. It's the perfect compromise between the cardboard tasting stuff at publix and the mess of making it at home. We also get a small tub of tabbouleh which is fresh and healthy. I also strongly recommend trying a couple kibbeh, which my boyfriend introduced me to. They're these little fried balls of buckwheat and beef that are delicious inside of a pita with a little tzatziki and tabbouleh. A Mediterranean feast wouldn't be complete without some spinach pies, grab a couple of those too. And last but not least, they have a bunch of delicious desserts in their pastry case. My personal favorite is the pistachio baklava, but they also have pecan and walnut version. So it is obvious that I love this place? I do. Don't miss out. read more

I've had many different platters with varied sides but go-to are always the hummus, the falafel, the rice pilaf and the beef shawarma. It was delicious, plenty of food. The gyros, and chicken sandwich were also very good. It was a pretty large order and everything was perfect. This Mediterranean and Greek market has been around and I'm only now making my way here. It's in a small plaza in Pinecrest. I had only heard about this place from their "sister" restaurant,Harvest Delight (another perfect spot).I have an addiction to great tasting falafel,baba ganoush, and kibbeh. Here they have all of that and then some. Walking in is very simple. Order your food and pay to the right where the counter is and to the left and the middle aisle all have different authentic goods and treats for sale. They even have different flavored organics soaps and sets of different jewelry. Upon walking in you see these big mass of different walnut and pistachio treats (sugar free available as well) along with my moms favorite baklava and so much more. There were different lunch specials along with beet salad,moussaka,spanakopita,tabouleh,rice, salad,different gyro meat selections,lasagna. I mean they had a whole line up of mouth watery foods. They even had fresh pita chips that had some seasonings on them. They also sold platters of mixed desserts perfect for a party or other type of garhering or simply just to treat yourself. Everything looked and smelled so good. It's difficult to walk in and choose. I loved everything I saw and was mentally taking it all in. Next time Im definitely going to try a platter and have a side of baba ganoush...it was fantastic! I love to eat it plain,like seriously with just a spoon! This restaurant has been around for YEARS! That tells you something about the quality of the food!. Oh is this place great. Everything from the hummus to the falafel is homemade and delicious. I am a vegan so I focused on the tabouli, chickpea salad, rice and lentils and whole wheat spinach pies. We were floored with how tasty everything was, giant portions and nicely served. There's an excellent yet small market that has lots of hard to find Middle Eastern delicacies like pickles, olives, cheese and spices. Best of all is the owner Nick- who is as charming a host as you'd ever hope to find. Their cousins with the stalwart Daily Bread just up US 1 off of 27th- but this one has a far superior location for the food, service and ambiance. Absolutely loved it!!!
