The place is kind of hidden away, and my friend and I were worried we were in the wrong place. There's nothing around it really and it looks like it's located in an empty lot. However, once inside, you can feel the fancy atmosphere. Everything is pristine white. Lume really takes notice of service, as all of our waiters were very formal and took attention to details. They have a lot of complimentary small dishes, from appetizers, to bread, to pre dinner, to dessert. All of these were delicious and unique, especially a puffed rice dish with flower petals. I also loved the bread--delicious and fresh, and they had four options to choose from. My friend and I got both pasta and a meat and a dessert (didn't do the tasting menu). We were so stuffed by the end and shouldn't have gotten separate desserts. However, everything was very unique. I loved my ravioli pasta and lamb dish, which was served in three different unique ways. I wasn't a complete fan on my vanilla dessert (which was also three different dishes) because it was too alcoholy for me. I loved my friends' fresh berry dessert however. It was a very very expensive meal, but when you visit a restaurant like this you are paying for the service and unique dishes! The fact that their dishes are often presented as three separate variations attests to that.

This is a neighborhood place filled mostly with locals and a sprinkling of tourists.  Half the folks walking in, families mostly, were greeted like old friends, many by name with handshakes all around.  Watching the pizza maker was a great show as well. We ate there a total of three times and it would have been more had we not been set to move on to our next destination.  Don't let the term Pizzeria mislead you, the seafood here is the best on the whole trip.   My first visit there I had sea bass encrusted in salt.  I think it may be the single best piece of fish I've ever had.  The second meal there for me was the grilled 1/2 spiny lobster.  It did not disappoint.  Outstanding it was.  My third visit I did have the pizza and wow-zers, one of the top three pies of the whole trip, and believe me when I say I ate a lot of pizzas there.  All the sides were also perfectly done and the little extras they brought out, like small cookies made the whole meal come together.   And a word about our waiter.  What a great and fun guy, totally added to the whole experience.  His catchphrase is "Organization"  Every time he came by the table, which was often enough to be helpful without being intrusive, he tidied up saying "organization, organization"  I think he was having as much fun as we were. The area around Rosy e and Gabriele is vibrant and comfortable. It was also a short ten minute walk to our hotel, the Diana Majestic, which were heard has since ceased operation.  Shame if true, it was a wonderful stay.

I'm happy to provide the first Yelp review for Felix Lo Basso in the Townhouse Duomo Hotel…read more My wife and I came here for dinner on a Friday night. First, know that it's a late crowd. We arrived when the restaurant opened at 7:30 pm, but most people didn't come until 9:00. The restaurant itself is spectacular, overlooking the Duomo Plaza. It's small and intimate, but has an incredible view. The food is imaginative and delicious; the service is impeccable. I'm in my mid 60's and we've eaten at great restaurants all over the world. I can honestly say this is one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. We split a starter course of grilled octopus, and then I had risotto and a lamb course. My wife had spaghetti followed by the black cod. Everything was unexpected, fun, and absolutely wonderful. The sommelier matched wines by the glass for each course, and he was spot on every time. Was it pricey! Heck yes. If the idea of spending $400-500 for dinner for two makes you feel nauseous, don't go. But if you want a once in a lifetime experience regardless of cost, this is a terrific restaurant.

We had a wonderful lunch yesterday. Great views of the Duomo.
