We had Daffy Dave entertain at our son's third, fourth and fifth birthday parties. Our son is now 7-1/2, but Dave commented to us when we ran into him more recently, "at this rate, I'm expecting to perform at your son's retirement party." The Daff-meister has a way with the little ones with the right combination of slapstick humor, magic, jokes and music. He slips in enough references that only a baby-boomer parent would appreciate. E.g., "she's buying a StairMaster to 7-Eleven." Our younger daughter is currently into princesses, so we may have to wait until our 1 year old is old enough to have Dave back for another encore. Well, its not as though youre going to read anything new in this review! Daffy Dave is the absolute BEST! First, my son saw Dave at my husband's "take your kid to work day" festivities. Hubs said that our little guy (3 yrs at the time) was rolling on the floor laughing! There was a broad age range in the audience, but EVERYONE was laughing and having a great time. So... when it came time to put together a party for our both of our boys, we knew just who we wanted to call for entertainment! When booking him, Dave was professional, responsive, and showed great follow-through and follow-up! He confirmed the date via email well in advance and we were so impressed. When he arrived that day, he arrived about an hour early. Mind you, we had expected to pay for a certain number of hours, and when he arrived so early I expected he'd come, leave some stuff, and maybe go grab a coffee or sit in his car... basically I assumed he'd do his own thing until "showtime". That was not the case. He arrived in costume and set right to work. He set up his props and while guests arrived, he played music, talked with my starstruck son and the rest of the kids, and pretty much performed, right from the get-go! When the time DID come for him to start his show, the kids (ranging in age from 2 to 6 years) were mesmerized... clapping, laughing, and just having the most amazing time! We also had a bouncy house... you wouldnt know it when Dave performed. The kids sat on our lawn and paid complete attention to him for the hour he performed. When it ended, I again expected him to pack up his things and hit the road. He did not. He hung around and played his guitar for a little while, and was just such a nice, fun prescence to have around. We also received a DVD and CD of his songs and performances, and the boys LOVE to relive their day again and again and sing all of his songs! I was left feeling so impressed by his professionalism, his performance, and really, the LEVEL of energy he put into his show. To see the little ones just loving every minute of it was the very best part, and each time I think about that day, my heart swells with appreciation for what he did to make it special for our boys and their friends. I should also say that we follow Dave on Facebook, where he posts shows that he is doing for a variety of different crowds (often free). What can I say.... I'm a Daffy Dave fan. I've seen him once when he performed at a Breakfast with Santa event. Usually, with kids entertainment, I'll pay attention and maybe smile a little, but Daffy Dave was in an entirely different zone. Daffy Dave is great! From our initial contact he's always been very professional. Daffy Dave arrived about 30 minutes early, which was impressive since so many of our guests got lost finding the park! He was really great at gathering the kids to watch the show. He has the rare skill of empowering kids with confidence while teaching them through song and magic. It would be easy to dismiss Daffy as simply a performing clown. Daffy Dave is such a fantastic children's entertainer! He came to my daughter's 5th birthday party this weekend and was wonderful. There were about 30 kids, mostly aged 4-5, but ranging from 2 to 10, and he had them all laughing and engaged (and well-behaved!) for a full hour. It was so fun to watch and I couldn't have been happier. When I contacted him via e-mail, he was very responsive and professional and gave me all the information I needed. He called to confirm two days before the party, and on the day, he arrived half an hour early to set up as arranged. He began entertaining the children whilst he was setting up which was great and then when everyone had arrived he got them all together for the show. He did a mixture of comedy, magic, juggling and music. My daughter loved the CD and DVD he gave her, and was laughing hard at his show all over again the next day! He's a great guy and I would thoroughly recommend his shows. It's worth contacting him a couple of months in advance as I think he gets booked up pretty quickly. read more

We just had Dave at my son's 7th birthday party. We had heard of him through our kids when he visited their pre-school and my son specifically requested him. I heard he was funny but .... All of the kids (there were ten kids ranging from 5-8) were rolling on the floor laughing for most of the hour and a half he entertained them. The only risk is that you must enforce bathroom breaks for the kids! What surprised me was how entertaining Dave is for adults. I hired Daffy Dave for our twins group Annual Halloween party and he ROCKED! The kids were anywhere from newborn-5/6 years and they laughed their pants-off.
