Not a bit of fat, good sear on the outside, medium-well in a the center. Garlic aioli applied in just the right (small) amount and compliments the other flavors/ingredients (provolone, bread was... a thin brioche?) perfectly. I also had a side Caesar salad, which again are notorious for not having any effort put into them, and just a box to be checked. This however could easily have been the main dish. Star of the show was the thick, ample chunks of savory bacon, there from the first bite to the last... without overpowering. Every square millimeter of lettuce had dressing and cheese. Perfect. Wife had the salmon. Boy had the chicken club. Daughter the curry. Everyone was thrilled with their dishes. If I was a local I'd be going back regularly.

One of the Best Burgers I've Ever Had - A Must-Visit in Lunenburg!…read more Lunenburg is packed with amazing food options, but we're so glad we chose to eat at The Grand Banker--it did not disappoint. My wife and I started with the sweet potato fries, and they were fantastic--crispy, flavourful, and taken to the next level with that curry mayo. She ordered the Lobster Roll and absolutely loved it--super fresh, packed with flavour, and exactly what you'd hope for this close to the ocean. I went all in on the Lunenburger, and let me tell you--it's easily one of the best burgers I've ever had, if not the best. It was absolutely loaded: a juicy, flavour-packed beef patty, crispy bacon, sweet and flaky lobster, fresh arugula, tasty aioli, and to top it all off--a bacon-wrapped scallop that was just the cherry on top. Every bite was next-level. No wonder this place has won awards. From fresh seafood to creative pub fare, The Grand Banker delivers big on both quality and flavour. Highly recommend, especially for fellow burger lovers--you need to try the Lunenburger!

There's a little shop to the left when you enter & that's where you buy your $5 admission to the garden. I recommend you do your garden stroll first before buying things so you can appreciate what they sell, but also so that you don't have to lug it around with you. It's a well mapped garden with lots of greenery and later in the summer they open a little cottage inside the garden serving rose and herbal mint chocolate ice cream. They also do high teas, but we were a week too early for their opening dates for that. The garden itself is thriving & there are so many nice places to take pictures while you stroll. I'd recommend bug spray & sunscreen depending on the weather. It's also good that they give you a map with your admission. The herb gardens are abundant and you can smell them as you walk. They actually have a section for wedding parties as well. Back in the shop is a great assortment of herbal jellies and liqueurs made from herbs harvested from the gardens. The ice creams are also available in there too, and washroom is upstairs where you pass by the workshop where they make the wooden packaging for the gift sets. The lady at the counter is absolutely wonderful, and great at recommending flavours as well as giving generous little samples on crackers. She even let us sample a hidden gem there which was blueberry balsamic vinegar, aged about 3 years which was quite lovely. As a tourist, this was a lovely experience & I'd highly recommend visiting!
