Yes, this spot is a little rough and primarily does catering. But once you get pass all of this,…read morethe food will wow you. This place is quite a hole in the wall. The Indian television show the owners had on makes everything more authentic. One Yelper was on point when she said there's an explosion of flavors. I usually hold expectations low to not be disappointed. But the food did wow me! It was like Indian food on steroids with the flavors. They did not hold back. The palak paneer was really good. The green stuff (spinach) was finely minced and oh so good with the paneer. Even the paneer was pretty flavorful even for such a simple dish. But then again it was smothered in the super flavorful sauce with whatever crazy seasoning they made it in. The lamb curry was super duper spicy. Flavorful, yes. Spicy, check. It was a lingering spice that was bearable but can accumulate and leave you wanting to pour milk over your tongue. It's sort of a hybrid of spicy in its flavor and hotness level. Your taste buds will most definitely explode with this pick. I'm sort of a wimp when it comes to spicy stuff. This was on the borderline of yes, I like it but a maybe on trying it again. There were two container sizes that they offered that were stuffed to the brim: regular and large. These two dishes came with rice so it made everything really filling. The garlic naan was really good too. Though it was a bit overheated as it was hard, but the flavor still shows through.

The menu is huge, which is great for variety, but also a bit overwhelming on the first visit. We tried a mix of dishes like the evening Pani Puri, Onion Pakoda and Masala Tea were flavorful and tasty. The best I have had for a while, balance in spice and seasoning. The chaat and snacks were fresh and enjoyable, and everything came out hot. Service was friendly, Prices felt reasonable for the area and portion sizes were fair. Desi District Dunwoody is located at 4784 Ashford Dunwoody Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338, and typically operates with long daily hours and free parking in the shared lot. Accessible parking spaces are available near the entrance. Overall, it's a nice option in Dunwoody when you're craving Indian street‑style food, and I would come back to try a few different dishes next time.

So far, I've had a pretty decent to great experience with Desi District. It's one of those…read morerestaurants that has an intimidating large sized menu to glance over, but I'm happy that I took a chance with a few snacks and appetizers initially. The Mysore Bonda has officially become a new favorite savory culinary treat of mines (especially with the dipping sauces that they give you). I also quite enjoyed both the chicken and veggie puff (pretty sure I can eat a whole basket full of those if my stomach permitted). The Mixed Tandoori Platter was great, but I do wish that I knew what was in it. Some of those variety items were pretty tasty and it's a shame that I have no idea what they're called by themselves on the menu. As for everything else, I'd say check out the pictures and the ratings that I gave for each item that I've tried. Hopefully I get to revisit this restaurant in the future (got a long list of menu items that I wanna try).

The vegetarian buffet is $12.99, while the regular buffet is $16.50, making it a great value for the variety offered. One of the highlights was the complimentary naan--soft, buttery, and fresh. The buffet featured a delicious spread, including butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, biryani, palak paneer, chana masala, samosas, and even curry goat. There was also a fresh salad bar and hot chai tea to round out the meal. The service was great, and the ambiance felt warm and authentic, which made the experience even more enjoyable. My only small critique is that I wish they had ice available for the beverages. Other than that, everything was wonderful. The food was flavorful and satisfying without leaving me feeling overly stuffed. The hot chai tea was the perfect finishing touch. I'm already looking forward to visiting again.

I got there around 3pm so most everything needed a real good stir. You could tell it had been sitting for a while. The Punjabi Khadi had one small pakora left and a whole lot of sauce. I still enjoyed it. The dishes were a bit too oily for my liking. It was good for a one meal of the day and nothing else before it in the day and nothing again until tomorrow. The service was great. The gentleman had water for me and a nice serving of fresh naan waiting for me before I even sat down. He was quick to clear dirty dishes. I've never been to Global Mall before but enjoyed a stroll after my meal.
