July 2023 S U M M A R Y Clearly, an older Publix with room for updates, but I was very satisfied with the customer service. T A S T E Deli Sandwich : if you're from the metro Atlanta area, you know about Publix! What isn't there to love? My sister and I came in and we ordered one of their specials which was a full sandwich for 8$. It came with sliced chicken, bacon, cream cheese, pepper jelly, three pepper Colby Jack cheese, and whatever toppings you wanted. We definitely did not want half of that stuff lol and the person behind the counter was nice enough to let us customize it. We also got it on mountain bread which comes up to being two full sandwiches because it's on sliced bread. So we essentially got two sandwiches for the price of one. This is normal for Publix, and was not a hook up or a favor. Overall, the ingredients were really fresh. S E R V I C E I appreciated that we were able to customize a sandwich however we wanted. Also, the woman behind the counter was super nice and gracious, and she had a great conversation, a lovely spirit, and a warm demeanor. The woman who check this out was also super nice. It's just nice being in the south and having people be super friendly. It's common at Publix, but this particular day the people went out of their way to be very friendly. A M B I E N C E I don't like Kroger generally because they look very rundown and damn. This Publix was close to reminding me of Kroger. I definitely need some updates. Every single time we order a wrap or sub, they are always out of something! Not to mention the past 2 times when we order online, go to pick it up & they haven't even made them yet because they were out of a certain bread! Why not call to confirm so that the food can be ready by the pickup time?? My wrap was missing so many things that I requested to be in it. I used to love a good pub sub but it's definitely going downhill, sadly. read more

Convenient location, and that's the ONLY reason I shop here ( for the last 9 years ). It's a "mini-Publix, so I know the selection is smaller than a normal sized store. No issue there. The issue I have with this location; I often find myself pulling expired items from the shelves to give to the cashier. Based on their lack of reaction, I'm not the only customer doing it. The real problem with this location is the staff. You have a 50/50 shot at getting a "Hello" while being checked out. Eye contact... worse odds. If you're lucky enough to have a cashier and bagger at the same time, most don't bother stopping their personal conversation to acknowledge you're there. I thought I was actually getting "service" last week when I asked an employee if they had more of an item in the back, as that spot for said item was empty. Waited 5 minutes and walked away to finish shopping. Saw the guy casually leaning at the customer service desk talking to the "supervisor" when I checked out. He looked at me, said nothing. So I asked "did you find the item?". He said, "Nah I forgot to check". Then a big sigh from him, "You want me go look? ". I said "nah man, you might forget again". Supervisor laughed. I don't care what you do in life to get paid. Just be the best at what it is you do. For a company who's tag line is "Where shopping is a pleasure"... this locations General Manager and "customer service manager" need to be trained in "customer service". read more

Publix is expensive and prides itself on customer service. This is a small store with limited selection and very poor customer service. I'd only go in a pinch. read more

This place is A ok with me and my staff at work. We held a Super Bowl party back in February and needed 300 cupcakes within a couple of days notice. No problem. We placed the order, gave a date and time and voila it was done. We went to the store to pick them up before 10am and they were ready. No issues. No waiting and because it was so many of them we got an escort from Publix to the car and guess what? Their associate helped us strategically put those huge boxes in the back seat of the car. Not an easy feat but it was done with no issues or complaints. This Publix is on the smaller scale. Very intimate and to be honest the employees treat you like you are in good company. read more

Let me start by saying I come to this Publix every other day. I live around the corner from it. I just got home from a very disappointing trip from there. I went to check out and the only register open was the customer service counter. There was 1 lady already there checking out, but the checkout lady had to go check a price for her. So as I am waiting another employee (stocky European accent lady) is talking to the customer. Once the checkout lady returns, the employee leaves and decides to open up a register. She immediately waits on a customer who just walks up. Needless to say, I was livid! I was standing there for 5 minutes waiting for the checkout lady to return and listening to the employee talk about freaking sauerkraut with another customer. The checkout lady knew I was pissed and kept apologizing. After I checked out, I confronted the employee (stocky European lady) asking why she couldn't wait on me knowing I was waiting for 5 minutes! All she did was say "I'm sorry"! People like her have absolutely no business working in a customer service industry. read more

This business is not closed! Everyone here is super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I don't think I've ever waited more than 5 minutes in the checkout line. The deli subs are fantastic! Super fresh and flavorful. read more

Publix has a deli. The deli has bread. Bread to make subs with. And when one begins to feel that ever familiar pang of hunger towards the end of a long week...wistful and longing for something such as hmm let's see....mayhaps a sub? Where does one venture too? Ahh yes, the convenience of Publix. And their deli, with the bread. But alas, not today satan! Upon my arrival I am told no, no bread to fulfill my sandwich dreams. A tragedy. Truly shocking, even more so when arriving and seeing with my own *hungry eyes* a sub being made. But no....not for me. The forbidden sandwich. This Publix is in a great location between Roswell and Norcross. This is my 4th time shopping & using the restroom here. The toilet is always clean & the prices on water are fair. The staff members are nice and helpful when you look lost. Hope this review is helpful read more

Found a large bug in my salad. The store punted to corporate. Corporate brushed it off as if it was no big deal. Have purchased several times from this store and have been disappointed with the quality of produce. Mold has been seen on produce on the shelves on a few occasions. Needless to say they lost my business and I reported them to the FDA. read more

I choose the "2-star" (I've experienced better) yelp option for this review because I really HAVE experienced better and it has usually BEEN HERE. I have been a customer at this Spalding Corners Publix since it opened in this old "A+P" location. I generally prefer this location to the one that is east on Holcomb Bridge, but over the last several months, it appears BOTH locations have had management come and go and I find the state of service at the check out registers to be at an all time low. In this Spalding Publix, I have often taken my items to "customer service" to pay when the front check outs are crowded. On Friday, Sept. 30, I attempted to do just that. There was only one regular register open and one "express" ... I prefer not to use the express if I have over 10 items. So, there were two employees behind the "service" desk and no customers at the desk. I wheeled the cart to the "service" desk and the woman told me that I had too many items to pay there. This is literally the first time I have been refused in all the time I have been coming here. (I only ask to be rung up at 'customer service' if the regular check-outs are swamped or if I get a feeling of impending problems at the front ... I don't 'abuse' the 'privilege' of utilizing the "service" desk as a "check out"' because - god forbid - the service desk actually provide a little extra 'service'?) She told me to use the express lane. I told her they need to open more registers. She told me "the computer tells them how many registers to open"... well it must be a windows computer because those are frequently wrong. It's approximately 4.30 pm on Friday afternoon, ostensibly the beginning of evening rush and they only want one register + express open? Does that make sense? She proceeded to walk me over to the express lane, and then she noticed the people who were already there had more than 10 items. During this runaround, I had realized I really didn't need this stuff and when she finally decided she would open a third register to help me I just said "I really dont need this stuff" and left for her to returen to the shelves. Another odd practice that has become evident at Publix over the last year or so is the cashier query of "did you find everything you were looking for?" What if the answer is no? Then they dispatch an (equally clueless) bag boy to find the missing item in the Publix haystack? Because thats what it amounts to; I really feel like if I can find the item myself or have someone on the floor do it before I check out, then what use it for someone at the check outs to do so? This note is a heads up to management at both locations of Publix. Your shelfs are stocked and floors are clean but your front end experience is leaving a lot to be desired. read more

They have all the features of a full-size Publix--bakery, deli, fish stand, butcher area, etc, but maybe not the full range of specialty grocery items. However, I think you'll find what you need. This Publix has a great store manager who stays on top of things. Last manager wasn't so good. Bernadette, the deli manager and Sophia, the asst deli manager, will bend over backwards for you if you ask them to. Maria in the meat dept will, too. Produce could be better, though. The cashiers that have been there for a while are the best around. I should know, I worked in grocery and retail for 40 years (retired now for over 10 years) and I have worked every dept. and have been supervisor over a several depts. I hope this crew at this Publix sticks around. read more

Clean store and restrooms. Prices are very high though. They are in a high rent district though. We go here when in a time crunch. Otherwise, we go to the stores which are much less expensive and are nearby. read more

Here's one thing I love about this store: Olga! What a customer service dream she is! I happen to be a fan of the smaller Publix locations (I fondly refer to them all as Mini Publix). While the selection is obviously going to be smaller, I just like that they tend to be less crowded and the employees seem more customer service oriented. Also, the parking lot is not a game of dodgecar like the Publix at Holcomb Bridge and Peachtree Parkway. Be careful with the produce - it can be a little iffy at times, but the one time this happened to me I brought it back and exchanged it with no issues.. read more

This is a mini-Publix. Packaged food etc is all normal, but this place sucks in areas where people matter: the deli area. Very little English spoken, inattentive staff, clueless manager. They do not know how to follow even basic sandwich-making instructions such as "just a little mayo", which somehow translated to enough mayo to choke a horse. Had to get it remade. The. They out the foods on all wrong- like lettuce and tomato under the cold cuts, etc. Be forewarned if you intend to use their deli. read more

This is usually a good store but I bought chicken that wasn't expired and I brought it home to cook it and it smelled terrible. I had to return it. I do love the deli lady. She is helpful and recommended cheese I've never tried and let me taste it, so I bought it. read more

A+ from the staff. Came by this afternoon. Wanted fried chicken from the deli, gentleman behind the counter got me more chicken at a lesser price than a la carte by pointing me to the family pack. Grabbed a couple sides, then at checkout the bagger and teller mentioned I could get a 4-pack of sweet rolls for free because of what I bought. The bagger then went and got them for me! At either point I would have had less food for the same price had they not informed me. Will be back more regularly. read more

Last night a cashier was very rude , she treated me like a criminal saying that my coupon was "copy" when it was printed in black and whitE, her attitude and facial expression were not from a person who works for the service of the public ... I do occasionally have problems when I'm looking for something like an ethnic ingredient for a specific recipe. However, it's the closest supermarket to my house and I visit often. This is my go to market. The staff is friendly and the store is always very clean. My reason for three stars is this store has a small foot print and doesn't carry all the items of the larger Publix but what troubles me is they are frequently out of the items they carry. This makes the store unreliable as a one stop trip. The have been out of items for weeks on end. read more

I like this supermarket because its in a great location and it's right next to other stores I frequently shop at. They always have sales that are visible as soon as you walk through the door. It's clean and the cashiers are always friendly. If you live in the area its great, if not and you are just passing through stop by because while you shop for groceries you can also, clothes shop, shoe shop, banking, shop for games for the xbox or whatever you have because all thoses stores are right in the plaza. I've been shopping at this Publix since it opened. It's perfect because of the size -small - and the employees - top quality. Because it's a small store it does not stock some items, but a simple request gets whatever I need ordered. I had the first occasion to complain about service last evening when my online deli order was not ready after the promised time. I checked in at the deli, was told it was in progress (with walk up customers' orders being filled ahead of my preorder), so I did a little shopping. Heard my name called, returned to the deli to get my order, but instead I was asked if I still wanted it - they hadn't started it almost an hour after I placed the order. I let the assistant manager on duty know I wasn't pleased with the deli service, and he made it much better by comping my deli order and giving me a $20 Publix gift card. All I wanted was an acknowledgement of the service issue and reassurance it wouldn't happen again, and what I got was well above my expectation. To top it off, the cashier who rang up my groceries overheard some of my conversation with the manager, and he gave me another $5 off! That's why I love this Publix, they don't just make it right, they make it great. read more
