Owner failed to deliver the pizzas for my child's birthday party despite having the order in advance and being reminded multiple times. When I called to find out what happened, instead of apologizing or taking responsibility, he was rude, dismissive, and insisted it wasn't his fault. Missing a child's birthday party order is bad enough. Refusing to own the mistake and treating a customer poorly afterward is completely unacceptable. Reliability and customer service matter, especially for important events, and this business failed on both counts. A friend of mine who loves this place recommended them to me about 7 yrs ago. They have a good selection of specialty pizza, calzones and rolls as well as heros, salads and pastas. Everything I've tried here in the past years have been good, if not, decent. Prices are reasonable and the staff are very friendly. Same price- cash or credit. Although it isn't my favorite pizza spot bc I've definitely had better elsewhere, it is a great choice if you're in the area & craving Italian food. I've visited da-Angelo pizza several times and they serve decent pizza at a reasonable price. They have a small selection speciality slices and rolls that are heated to perfection in just a couple of minutes. The restaurant is small but well-kept and inviting. The decor is a mixture of a classic Italian pizzeria fused with wood paneling making it feel like you are also in a cabin in the woods. They have a beautiful fireplace as a centerpiece and a somewhat spacious dining floor. I would not come here with a big party since they only have one large table in the back. The staff is very kind and makes it feel like you are part of their family while you are there. They are quick to take your order but still take their time to talk to you and make friendly conversation. They have a small parking lot but I am assuming that it gets busy during the weekends so you may have to park on the street. The reason I gave this place four stars instead of five is solely because of their pizza taste and quality. Although it is good, I have had better slices in the area and have also had many more options to choose from in local restaurants. This was a full cheese slice with no sauce but in my opinion, there was too much ricotta and not enough mozzarella. The ricotta was overpowering and it felt like there was too much mush on the slice. There was also no hint of garlic, which would have gone perfect on this pizza. The crust was a little thicker and softer compared to the cheese slice. Again, not too greasy and minimal oil drip. 4-18-24 I've eaten here a handful of times, mostly for lunch. Their pizza is really good. Lots of specialty slices to choose from and plenty of different stuffed options (eggplant roll, ziti roll, chicken roll, sausage and peppers, etc.) on display. I've tried different items every time I've visited. Today I had a couple of "Grandpa" slices which were off the charts good. This slice deserves more than 5 stars. A sweet tomato sauce that's a little chunky with some onions and other spices mixed in, then sprinkled with a very light and flavorful breadcrumb topping. If you're looking for a cheese free option, you must try it. There's quite a few tables to dine at and they have waitress service if you'd like. I have not yet tried any of the dinner entrees yet, but definitely plan to do so in the future. The ambiance is very casual and the staff is super friendly. Prices are on par with most other Long Island pizzeria restaurants. read more

It's been a few months since I've been out here. They did a beautiful interior remodel including the bathrooms. Whenever I'm near this part of Long Island I try to stop by. Their grandma, Sicilian, regular slice are our family staples. The servers are absolutely wonderful. Hubby knows the place because he does the business around the area and sometimes he brings home some pizza from here for me to try. This time we came in for lunch (with Mommy) after finding out that they have steamers. Amazing! We had Sergio the waiter serving our table. He gave great service and super attentive! Anyway, our first order was steamers and then followed by hot antipasto. They were both appetizers to die for! But I'm alive and don't panic! The steamers were sweet and I'm still drooling till today. Loved it! The hot antipasto is caliente! It's too hot to even look at it. I really liked this hot antipasto! The combination of zucchini, mushroom, shrimp, clam, and eggplant sounds like just a regular antipasto but they prepared this really well because of the bread crumb and sauce that appeared to be a little different in the tasting. So I must have it again! Then Hubby ordered his favorite chicken scarpariello, Mommy had tilapia and I had bronzini. I tried all 3 dishes because I must. All 3 came out excellent, especially the fish. I don't usually care of tilapia but somehow this was inviting. My broiled bronzini was crispy on a surface and soft underneath, perfect! They even gave me a sauce to go with this and the sauce contained garlic and oil with some herb. I asked for broccoli rabe as a side vegetable and that didn't disappoint either. Cute little pizzeria! Came during lunch yesterday and they offer their regular menu as well as a lunch special menu. Additionally also have your regular sliced to chose from. Our waitress brought out a bread basket of garlic knots. I then did a bowl of the pasta fagoili soup which was very hot in temperature and tasty. We both also did the lunch combo of mini pie and tossed salad. The pie was 10" and had 6 mini slices. I added half prosciutto and he did half meatball. It was so thin and crispy, delicious!!! Disgusting staff & food - stay away! The below review is worth the quick read & if I could give zero stars I would! Went in this past Saturday night with a family member & ordered take-out. I am always looking to support local businesses, but this is not a place I would ever recommend. The first problem is the wait - 40 minutes for a simple order. We got two parm heroes - one chicken, one eggplant, which we had to pay an extra dollar to just get cheese on them - tacky to start with. We also got a chicken francese entree with a salad instead of pasta - this is where things went WAY DOWNHILL. When the food was finally ready, we noticed that the salad was not even half full - it looked emaciated. So we asked for a little bit more lettuce since it didn't seem to be a reasonable amount for a side. The owner, Angelo, came over to my family member & told her in a rude manner that as a one time courtesy he'd add more lettuce. When I got home, I recognized that there was one cherry tomato & one cucumber slice in the whole thing - what a rip off. Once I got settled at home, I unloaded the order & noticed something VERY OFF - my chicken francese was ORANGE & had almost NO sauce when I had asked for extra sauce when ordering. I decided to still try it & immediately realized that it tasted like curry. There was no way I could eat the dish - it was disgusting. I decided to call the restaurant to let them know that this dish was inedible & that I might've even been given the wrong entree. I got a young lady on the call who abruptly passed the phone over to Angelo, who I assume is the the owner. I told him that there was hardly any sauce & that the dish tasted of curry. He went on to berate me on the phone yelling that "the dish is how the dish is" & to basically deal with it or that he can send another one to switch out. He then told me to give my address to his hostess & abruptly left the phone. I heard him through the background tell his staff to start making another chicken francese dish. Since he left the call so quickly, I then got a hostess on the phone & told her that I wanted to tell Angelo that I didn't want to take another chance on getting a curried chicken dish instead of chicken francese. She then got Angelo back on the phone & I told him the same & said that if someone came to get the dish I currently had, I'd be happy to give it back to him but that I'd like an eggplant parm hero instead ($11.50 plus tax) & that I'd like the difference in the price back to my credit card ($22 for the francese plus tax minus the hero). He then said that I was asking for too much & he didn't want to give me the difference in price back & that he'd give me two heros since it's basically the same price as the chicken francese. I then told him that I didn't really want two eggplant parm heros but that if that's only what he'd do, that I'd be forced to take it, even though that's not what I wanted at all. Angelo was about to hang up on me, but I quickly stated that he didn't even have my address, which he begrudgingly then gave the phone back to the hostess to take & I told her to please make sure they didn't forget the tomato sauce for the heros. A delivery guy then showed up & he gave us the heros which my family member took - I have video of the exchange since we have a doorbell cam. We gave him the francese dish to take back & I told him to show Angelo that the dish was orange that that there was basically no sauce. He said he would. I then unfortunately had to call the restaurant once more as they of course forgot the tomato sauce for the parm heros which I never ended up getting. What a lack of customer service & attention to detail on their part. I then got Kim on the phone & I told her that they forgot the tomato sauce for the two heros & that what I pay attention to most is not the food but instead the customer service & how kind the staff is. I told her outright that Angelo was extremely rude and took a disgusting tone both in person and over the phone. She apologized for him & OFFERED for me to call her on Monday (today) to tell her when I can come in & that she'd give me another chicken francese + side on the house - since the menu doesn't say it but that the francese has marsala sauce in it which was never told me when ordering the dish & that she'd make sure that the dish is made with only lemon sauce. Because Kim OFFERED & INSISTED for me to come in for them to make it right, I called her up ahead of time today & went in at 6 pm. When I got there Kim said that she told Angelo that she offered to give me a new dish free of charge & that he told her to make me pay for it. I made a special trip out to them & they rescinded the offer I never even asked for - TRULY DISGUSTING. Shame on this business & shame on Angelo! They have an inflated ego and a demeanor to match. Save yourself the trouble & aggravation and go literally anywhere else!!!!!! Hope they realize that without customers they don't have a business. read more

For many years, Da Angelo was an enigma to me. Well, what I mean is my buddy would order a sausage pie for football Sundays and he would tell me it came from Da Angelos on Willis Ave and for some reason, I never knew where on this road it was located...until a few weeks ago when I actually went there myself. It does exist! And it's a pretty cute place to boot. Da Angelos has this little Italian restaurant feel to it with hints of classy style. A couple of tables can be found outside which is nice, even if sitting on Willis Ave isn't anything special. Menu-wise I can only truly speak to lunch as that's what we were there for. But hey, lunch usually bodes some specials and guess what? Specials! A mini pizza pie and a tossed salad for $8? Sign me up. Or just take my order, that works too. The tossed salad looked fresh, though it came with an oddly thick vinaigrette dressing. Instead I went for some classic oil and balsamic vinegar which did the trick. Bread on the table made for good post dipping. As for the mini pie it was of personal pizza size if not a smidge larger. Cheesy, a little crisp, and enough flavor to polish it off (even if it left me stuffed). Overall, Da Angelo is a pizza place and Italian restaurant worthy of a trip...that is if you can find it on Willis (it's not hard to, I'm just a dummy). But in all pizza seriousness, DA is a quality spot for your Italian fix, so order with confidence, and don't forget about that sausage pie. read more

I think this is one of the better Pizzerias in the area (Roslyn). The crust and taste are dead on. Some of the other places here are very overrated or have questionable reviews as to authenticity. This place has good but pricey pizza. Delivery is usually quick. I will say that I have gotten less than hot pizza and have gotten road warrior cheese-shifting. Neither are a big deal but might make some annoyed. Maybe a nudge to be careful with the pie over the phone is in order. read more
