Grandma, cheese, & mushroom slices and garlic knots
    Cecilia T.

A friend of mine who loves this place recommended them to me about 7 yrs ago. They have a good selection of specialty pizza, calzones and rolls as well as heros, salads and pastas. Everything I've tried here in the past years have been good, if not, decent. Prices are reasonable and the staff are very friendly. Same price- cash or credit. Although it isn't my favorite pizza spot bc I've definitely had better elsewhere, it is a great choice if you're in the area & craving Italian food. I like their grandma pizza, rice ball and spaghetti but I don't think you can go wrong with any of their pizza :p

Incredible food and service. First time there and we absolutely loved it! The staff was so helpful and attentive. The margarita pizza sauce was perfectly sweet and delicious, and everything was great quality.

I've visited da-Angelo pizza several times and they serve decent pizza at a reasonable price. They have a small selection speciality slices and rolls that are heated to perfection in just a couple of minutes. The restaurant is small but well-kept and inviting. The decor is a mixture of a classic Italian pizzeria fused with wood paneling making it feel like you are also in a cabin in the woods. They have a beautiful fireplace as a centerpiece and a somewhat spacious dining floor. I would not come here with a big party since they only have one large table in the back. The staff is very kind and makes it feel like you are part of their family while you are there. They are quick to take your order but still take their time to talk to you and make friendly conversation. They have a small parking lot but I am assuming that it gets busy during the weekends so you may have to park on the street. The reason I gave this place four stars instead of five is solely because of their pizza taste and quality. Although it is good, I have had better slices in the area and have also had many more options to choose from in local restaurants. I have heard that the dining menu is very good here so I may come back for that, which can possibly change my rating. -------- PLEASE READ: I am starting a new Pizza Review Series in which I will be rating slices from over 30 different pizzerias in my local area in Nassau County, Long Island. I will use a regular cheese slice as a baseline and a specialty slice as added depth to the review. These rating are solely based on my opinion and taste preference so please do not be offended if one of my ratings does not align with your opinion on the pizza. I am excited to have da-Angelo as my first review in this series! #1 da-Angelo Pizzeria Cheese slice: a solid slice with a generous amount of cheese and sauce. Sauce could have had more seasoning. Crust was thin and crispy but a little dry. Not too greasy and minimal oil drip. Overall, I would rate this slice an 8/10. Specialty slice: For my specialty slice, I ordered a white slice. This was a full cheese slice with no sauce but in my opinion, there was too much ricotta and not enough mozzarella. The ricotta was overpowering and it felt like there was too much mush on the slice. There was also no hint of garlic, which would have gone perfect on this pizza. The crust was a little thicker and softer compared to the cheese slice. Again, not too greasy and minimal oil drip. I would rate this slice a 6/10. For more ratings please see my Pizza Ratings Collection on my profile.

We were in the area. This came up with the best reviews and they're not wrong. The pizza was good as was the service, and the place itself is nice inside. Not the best pizza I've had but I think we NYers are loyal to our local places, but it was some solid pizza. If I was ever around that area again I'd def stop by again.

Margarita pizza possibly the best I've ever had!!

It's been a few months since I've been out here. They did a beautiful interior remodel including the bathrooms. Whenever I'm near this part of Long Island I try to stop by. Without a doubt they have the best margarita pizza anywhere! Everyone is friendly, the place is very clean and they have great food. They are set up to deal with COVID-19 and have the interior of the restaurant spaced accordingly with dividers that can be moved. I have been coming here from Brooklyn for about 2 years and would highly recommend them.

We only waited about 5 minutes on a Friday night... surprisingly quick! You can't go to a clam bar without ordering clams!!! Raw Clams: Fresh, large, and served with cocktail sauce and horseradish. Can't go wrong! Baked Clams: A must order! The breading was flavorful, and had the perfect crispy crunch. Mussels in White Wine Sauce: Generous portion with fresh mussels. The white wine sauce was rich, buttery, and perfect for dipping bread. Seafood Salad: My favorite was the calamari. It was perfectly tender with a bouncy texture, not rubbery/chewy. It also came with shrimp, scallops, mussels, and large crunchy croutons. Vincent's Classic Combination: We chose the fried calamari and fried shrimp. The breading was light, crispy, and not oily. The sauce leaned on the sweeter side, even though we requested it spicy. My only complaint is that I wish it came with more linguine. Napoleon: Light, flaky, and not overly sweet. A great way to end the meal. Overall, fresh seafood in generous portions with classic Italian flavors. If you're looking for a solid seafood spot, this one is definitely worth a visit! Highly recommend!

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere that feels a little upscale but still comfortable. The flight and filet special was a good value at $52 and included a wine flight, filet and a mini indulgence dessert. The wine flight was fun to try and a nice way to sample different options with dinner. The filet was tender, flavorful and cooked as requested. My partner tried the filet and lobster tail. The lobster tail was tender and paired well with the steak. For dessert, I selected the peanut butter chocolate mini indulgence, which was the perfect size to end the meal without feeling too heavy. Service was attentive and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Prices are definitely on the higher side, but the $52 special felt like a good deal for what was included. When…read morethey first opened there were few (if any) eateries around here offering moules frites and other Belgian specialties, so I was thrilled to find them. I stopped by last night after a multi year hiatus and was surprised to see the place so crowded on a Monday evening. The vibe has certainly amped up from quiet and relaxing to lively and frenetic, especially around the bar area. Maybe their "Mussel Mania" promo** (a 3-course repast for $39.95pp including appetizer, a nice array of mussels, fries and chocolate mousse) drew in the hungry hordes. I noticed that most tables chose to join the Mania when I was there. Service was good considering the situation. They offer an amazing selection of Belgian beers served up in authentic glasses from the breweries that produce them. I chose the dark Cherry Chouffe and appreciated its 8% kick and hoppy fruity taste. The lobster croquette appetizer was miniscule but tasty. Mussels with bread crumbs, served in a large black pot, were OK but on the small and dry side. Chocolate mousse dessert, presented in a small cup with chocolate sauce drizzled on top, was a puzzling Americanized version of one of my favorite rich desserts. I saw some tempting things on the menu and plan to stop by another night to sample different items; in fact the cheesy onion soup is calling my name now..... **Tip: Make sure to ask your server for the mussels promo if that's your choice, as it isn't offered on the main menu they hand out.

Wow. What a find…read more First of all, the decor is beautiful: open spaces, super clean with plenty of seating. Service is smart and friendly. Everything we ordered was exceptional. We shared the cold dip sampler (taramasalata, babaganoush, tzatziki) and crispy eggplant and zucchini chips. Highly recommend both...the picky eater at the table (who literally eats no vegetables) couldn't stop eating the chips. Rave reviews of the Alaskan halibut and the pork chop. I had the Rocca avocado salad with grilled chicken. Again-excellent! Dessert? Chocolate mousse and custard - I tasted both and loved each option. The mousse was somehow rich, dark...yet "light" at the same time. The custard was warm and had a thin layer of phyllo dough with a drizzle of honey sauce. We arrived when it wasn't too busy on a week night; I'd recommend reservations on weekends. I'll definitely be back!

We started out strong with the crusty bread and feta spread (complimentary), but moving on from there everything was just mediocre. The spanakopita was tasty and I like the bigger chunks of spinach and feta, but the phyllo was soggy. The fried eggplant/zucchini crisp were fried well, but the seasoning wasn't distributed well. Some pieces were heavily seasoned and others were bland. The sauce was just ok, and for the price the portion was small compared to other Greek restaurants. We ordered a whole sea bass with lots of sides ( Horta, Orzo, and Greek Fries). The fish came out looking pretty promising, and it was fresh, but was sorely overcooked. For the price charged, and for a Greek restaurant, I expected the fish to be on point. While studded with capers, the fish was also under seasoned so you were forced to use the weak beurre blanc. I would have much preferred some good olive oil, salt, and herbs. The orzo in tomato sauce was tasty but tasted like an Italian dish. The Greek fries came out and to our surprise had no feta on it. I've personally never had Greek fries that came without feta. They were more Belgium styled fries, dusted with oregano and other dried herbs. It was fine, but just not Greek fries. The Horta was fresh but like the appetizer, the seasoning wasn't well distributed. There were pockets with lots of salt and while other bites landed bland. We walked out with a $170 check, ordering one beer and soda. For that kind of price, the food was not up to par with upscale Greek places. In short, Plori is just really overpriced mid Greek style food. I much rather hit up Astoria for some good Greek cuisine, or go down the street to Tasty Greek for some kebabs. Yes, the ambience was nice, but the price is just outrageous for what we had. PS the valet is also a scam. We tipped the man and he simply handed us our car keys and had us pick up our own car. Why do valet in a small lot if you're not going to valet my car? So odd, but I guess it's on brand with the restaurant. Lots of show, poor execution.
