This person needs a "front of house" staff member to handle inquiries. When I called early this afternoon, I got through to a voicemail. The voicemail said to either leave a message or text. So I texted a message over- and haven't received a reply. I totally understand that people are busy, but at the same time, this is presumably a business. Having just got through a kitchen renovation, I have no patience left in my life for contractors who don't return calls (those are typically the ones who don't bother showing up, FWIW). I really want to make this a short review but I'm one who needs to know all facts before judgement so therefor this may be a little winded. Was referred Dave from a neighbor ( not their fault of his behavior, he was good enough for them to pass his name along to me). I called and left a voicemail message on a Monday stating I needed a Small re-wire done on a garbage disposal at a home and would need the work done during this week if at all possible if not then just let me know. He text back within 10 min. Hi Dave with D3 Where is the job? I text right back gave the address and sent a couple pictures of under counter disposal so he would have a good idea of what I was requesting on wiring... Not a Thank you just a pause for two hours until his next text that said : OK so you have a switch on the wall and need a junction box and power cord to connect to the disposal Correct? I text right back and said correct, so what are you thinkin? Can you make time? if so when? and just a cost so I can make sure your paid. I'll also make sure you get a signed letter from seller stating you may make the repairs for your comfort. Again I sent him a different picture of the top counter/sink area with the switch to better give him a visual. This was at 3:58PM Didn't hear another word the rest of the night. Next morning, thought I'd give him awhile to reach out what his intentions were 1:10pm I finally had enough...I wanted to be nice but get my point across that he was leaving me hanging so I left this text: You went MIA Dave IS THIS JOB TO SMALL or You just don't have time. Ignorance isn't an answer :-) Just be up front... That got his attention but I didn't think if he did respond he would respond as he did. His reply: Yo I didn't go anywhere so let's not start with stupid comments. definitely not needed I had no idea you needed me to drop all I'm doing to help you I'm rather busy right now and maybe you need to find someone else just a friendly comment Don't ever send anyone texts like you did me I guarantee you'll get a similar response Best of luck with your problem. I mean WOW maybe a Thank you for sending me the info and providing me pictures with an apologize might of made things right. I've left him a simple text back: Only needed an answer. that would be a yes or no. Didn't mean to offend you but you kind of lead me on with your questions but I really didn't have clarity. We searched long and hard but finally found ourselves an electrician for our house projects. We had a large 15000 W generator that needed to be installed and our electrical panel rewired. Dave Maritz (owner and electrician extraordinaire) brought his team to the house and had it installed within the $$ and time frame in his estimate. Dave and his team were on-time, friendly and very respectful of cleaning up any messes inside and out. He and his team always took the time during the installation process to answer any and all questions on the operation and maintenance of the generator. He also worked with the county inspector to schedule the visit and answer any questions along the way. Like I said, we waited a long time to find a knowledgeable, and honest electrician who we can trust with the wiring safety of our house....we finally found it with Dave Maritz and his team. Update: The miscommunication was made right and as of this moment in time I am convinced that my experience was a fluke and an honest mistake. My experience in correcting the mistake was very professional, courteous, and timely. At this time, I have not yet had services rendered, but my initial issue has been attended in a prompt and satisfactory manner. Initial: Gotta say pretty disappointed with ya, Dave. You had great reviews! So I called you first! You returned my call promptly, I'll give you an extra star for that... And then you bailed and didn't return my calls and now I look like an ass in front of my tenants...what's up with that, thought we had a connection. Epic miscommunication. Dave was so great to connect with! I left a long-winded message on his voicemail at 9pm at night and he called me back first thing in the morning. When I explained my issue, he actually walked me through how I could fix it myself, when other electricians had just quoted me substantial call-out rates. Even though I didn't end up using him, if I have an electrical issue he will be my first call. It says a lot that a business owner will provide excellent customer service even if it means he doesn't bill hours. read more

I reached out to D3 requesting help with the installation of recessed lighting in my living room, nearly 2 weeks ago. Dave gave me a verbal estimate along with the request to provide him with the lights for installation. I asked that Dave send me both an estimate and instructions on what he needed me to provide (because I'm not an electrician and don't want installation day to come around and have provided Dave with the wrong materials.) Dave said he would send me a QuickBooks estimate/invoice. I expected to hear from Dave within 24 hours of our meeting as has been my expirience with other electricians durring this bidding process. After 24 hours of not hearing from Dave I sent him a message via yelp (the only method of communication we've had) asking for the estimate and provided my personal email to receive said estimate. I hadn't heard from Dave until today, (11 days later) after originally posting a 1 star review. Dave and I agree there was miscommunication between us and so I'm updating my review. Dave has been a nice guy and seems to run his business with integrity. I'm disappointed it took a bad review to get in contact with Dave. Dave, consider a little client follow up and leaving a business card behind for better contact methods. read more

We are selling our home and needed an electrician to handle issues brought up by the buyer's inspector. We had one electrician begin to do repairs upstairs and then leave, saying he'd need more time to do a more complicated part of the job in the electrical panel downstairs. He responded the next day that he would not be coming back - it was too far to drive. Ouch. A friend referred me to Dave and I reached out right away. He was able to come out the next day. He say that there were several complications to the job and that it would take a couple hours. We were expecting the appraiser and so I did not want the job going on while our home was being inspected. So Dave left and said to contact him when the appraiser was gone and he would see if he could come back the same day. I did that, he was able to come back that afternoon, and did a fabulous job with a bit of a mess. By the next day, I had a report to submit to the buyer. And though the job ended up to be bigger, he was able to stay within the original quote. He was fast, thorough, professional, fairly priced, and friendly. I highly recommend him. read more

We were looking at an entire re-wire of our older craftsman. Dave was prompt for the estimate. He talked about having all the drywall removed, which seemed excessive. After a week with no contact, I emailed him. His response in email was, " it was to much of a headache to pursue." I highly recommend 3D Electric, Dave was in my neighborhood and I stopped to ask about a problem I was having with an overhead light, he offered to look at my problem. Dave came and fixed my light with no charge. I was hesitant to call an electrician due to being overcharged by a window company. It just shows there are a few good honest people out there. My wife and I had a breaker pop and couldn't get it to reset on a Sunday. We have a freezer connected to that line and needed an electrician's help soon. The simple fact of the matter is that David considered what I asked him to do, and we decided that some of the work was unnecessary, and therefore less costly.
