Great spot for an affordable haircut ($55) I'm new to the area and called several salons asking for a quote for a basic women's haircut. I keep my haircuts very simple and I was shocked to hear that most places charged $70. D2's women haircuts start at $55. I was hesitant that it was much lower, but gave it a shot and I'm happy I did! Making an appointment was very easy and they were able to squeeze me in within the week. They had a decent amount of parking. The business is a bit hard to find because it was a very dark exterior. The salon looks bigger than it does from the outside. Not as modern as competitors on yelp, but it did its job. The woman stylist was great. She listened to what I wanted and I was out within the hour. She took her time carefully snipping while I asked for 5 inches offf. She was very empathetic when I mentioned I wanted more volume because of my recent postpartum hair loss. The priority was to hide my thinning hair. I'm extremely satisfied with my haircut and I recently got a comment from saying my hair looks full! I'll definitely come back. read more

Nothing but good things to say about this hair salon. Came here to get a fresh cut and a new Japanese straightening perm after 4 years (went to a different place in NY in between) and pleasantly surprised that this place is just as reliable as it was 4 years ago. Ada cut my hair today and is doing the perm as I type. She's really kind and attentive! Made sure I had everything I need (offered a drink and asked if I wanted to order take-out for lunch given that a perm takes hours and hours). Apparently shes been with D2 for about 20 years - AMAZING. Parkin lot out front with plenty of spots. I drive 40 minutes to come here, and I don't regret the drive. I wouldn't trust my hair to anyone but this spot! FYI at least for now, 10% off if you write a Yelp review:) Edit: So after I wrote the review and was checking out to take advantage of the 10%, the cashier/Ada increased the price. Initially we agreed to $280 for a Japanese perm and haircut, but when I was paying, the cashier and Ada said it's $280 perm plus $50 haircut. That is not what we agreed to initially. I asked her in the beginning what a cut and perm would be, and she said $280. I said okay, I didn't even haggle. Then when they said $280 + $50 at the end, I didn't argue with them because it would come out to $300 with the 10% off, but I'm convinced that they up-priced so that the 10% off wouldn't affect the revenue they got (and actually they got more). This isn't how to do business. So tip: Make sure you clarify what price your services will be beforehand (and hopefully they don't increase it at the end). I initially gave 5 stars but this up-pricing really, really annoys me so I'm down to 3. Good quality hair service though, bummer their customer service isn't up to par. read more

I received many compliments on a haircut I got here a couple years ago and decided to come back after I was in dire need of a haircut and my usual hairdresser was fully booked for the week. Figured that walk-ins are probably a thing of the past due to covid so I called D2 to see if they could squeeze me in their schedule. After a few calls back and forth, they scheduled me with Vina for the following day. I came prepared with pictures and described to her what I wanted. She suggested a style that took my hair quality/amount and face shape into consideration and gave me an above the shoulder, slightly asymmetrical bob cut that I was initially unsure about but grew to love. Shorter hair can sometimes require more maintenance but I've had no problems with this cut. I wake up and my hair curls the way I want it to, which rarely happened with shorter haircuts in the past. I feel brand new and also received many compliments on the new do. Vina is definitely knowledgeable in her craft and offered great advice for any hair related questions I had. $50 for a shampoo and cut wasn't bad at all for the quality of the cut. When I parked my car in the parking lot, I was a bit regretful because this place looks very old, after I walked in, there were three people work there, the front desk lady just point one lady to do my hair cut! That lady Looks surprised,did even know she will be the one cut my hair.When she cut my hair, I knew she is very new, she straight shaved both sides of my hair. When I asked her if there possible to change other prison to cut my hair She directly told me that there was no one else, and the whole haircut process made me feel very uncomfortable. Was looking for a good stylist near my place and found Leo at D2 Hair Salon. He will now be my go-to stylist!!! LOVE my new cut and color. Prices are reasonable and Leo's layering skills are SUPER! I went in with some faded orange highlights, semi purple dye (from a box), and 4 inch roots - it was a mess! I didn't want to highlight my hair again so Leo fixed it with just a 1 time color! I haven't cut my hair in over a year due to lack of good stylists. I had bleached blonde hair that also needed some TLC. Alex took care of my color and cut need! I cannot stress enough that I'm a picky picky person when it comes to hair cut, especially since I don't have long hair (if someone mess up your hair there is no room to fix). I normally see Leo, but he's no longer here so I opted to get a hair cut with whoever was available, less than a week before my wedding, and boy was that a big mistake. I was paired up with Ada. I explained to her I wanted layers with only 2 inches trimmed off. I even showed her what the length of the longest and shortest layers would be just to be clear in case there were any confusion. I repeated the length to Ada about 5 times (a couple times before she washed my hair and a few more times when I was seated for my hair cut) because I didn't want any mistakes right before my big day. Lo and behold, 2 inches somehow became 6 to 7 inches. I'm not one to panic when the hair is cut too short so I picked up my hair and explained to Ada it's too short. She said she will fix it and continues snipping away making it even shorter. I should've gotten up and left at this point, but for whatever reason, I stayed and decided to let her finish. Not only did Ada cut my hair way too short, but she totally butchered it AND blamed it on me saying I had asked her to cut it to that length and she was just following what I told her. The outer layers were longer than the layers underneath. Perhaps she was trying to hide how much she had cut off? The haircut was not symmetrical either. The surprising part was when Ada said the hair cut looks good and is very stylish the way she fixed it. The whole situation was really uncomfortable and awkward. She walked with me to the front desk so I could pay. She made small talks in hopes I would leave a tip. I did not. I paid, smiled at her, wished her a good day and left. They were lucky I even paid cause I don't think anyone in my shoes would've done the same. Now I'll have to go back for another hair cut to fix what she did. Attached are pictures.
