Great spot for an affordable haircut ($55) I'm new to the area and called several salons asking for a quote for a basic women's haircut. I keep my haircuts very simple and I was shocked to hear that most places charged $70. D2's women haircuts start at $55. I was hesitant that it was much lower, but gave it a shot and I'm happy I did! Making an appointment was very easy and they were able to squeeze me in within the week. They had a decent amount of parking. The business is a bit hard to find because it was a very dark exterior. The salon looks bigger than it does from the outside. Not as modern as competitors on yelp, but it did its job. The woman stylist was great. She listened to what I wanted and I was out within the hour. She took her time carefully snipping while I asked for 5 inches offf. She was very empathetic when I mentioned I wanted more volume because of my recent postpartum hair loss. The priority was to hide my thinning hair. I'm extremely satisfied with my haircut and I recently got a comment from saying my hair looks full! I'll definitely come back. read more

Both my son and husband got their new haircut before the lunar new year. I'm truly loving the haircut from Vina. For men, she washes their hair before and after the haircut. Talk about unbelievable service!! Highly recommend and reasonably priced. read more

I went to this salon after some choices with pricing and location of where I wanted to dye my hair. It had a reasonable price and I heard a lot of good things about Vina. When I got there, she was really sweet and kind! She told me about what type of conditioner to use and was very patient even when the process took almost double the time we expected. Wonderful experience, not loud, and accommodating staff! read more

Nothing but good things to say about this hair salon. Came here to get a fresh cut and a new Japanese straightening perm after 4 years (went to a different place in NY in between) and pleasantly surprised that this place is just as reliable as it was 4 years ago. Ada cut my hair today and is doing the perm as I type. She's really kind and attentive! Made sure I had everything I need (offered a drink and asked if I wanted to order take-out for lunch given that a perm takes hours and hours). Apparently shes been with D2 for about 20 years - AMAZING. Parkin lot out front with plenty of spots. I drive 40 minutes to come here, and I don't regret the drive. I wouldn't trust my hair to anyone but this spot! FYI at least for now, 10% off if you write a Yelp review:) Edit: So after I wrote the review and was checking out to take advantage of the 10%, the cashier/Ada increased the price. Initially we agreed to $280 for a Japanese perm and haircut, but when I was paying, the cashier and Ada said it's $280 perm plus $50 haircut. That is not what we agreed to initially. I asked her in the beginning what a cut and perm would be, and she said $280. I said okay, I didn't even haggle. Then when they said $280 + $50 at the end, I didn't argue with them because it would come out to $300 with the 10% off, but I'm convinced that they up-priced so that the 10% off wouldn't affect the revenue they got (and actually they got more). This isn't how to do business. So tip: Make sure you clarify what price your services will be beforehand (and hopefully they don't increase it at the end). I initially gave 5 stars but this up-pricing really, really annoys me so I'm down to 3. Good quality hair service though, bummer their customer service isn't up to par. read more

I received many compliments on a haircut I got here a couple years ago and decided to come back after I was in dire need of a haircut and my usual hairdresser was fully booked for the week. Figured that walk-ins are probably a thing of the past due to covid so I called D2 to see if they could squeeze me in their schedule. After a few calls back and forth, they scheduled me with Vina for the following day. I came prepared with pictures and described to her what I wanted. She suggested a style that took my hair quality/amount and face shape into consideration and gave me an above the shoulder, slightly asymmetrical bob cut that I was initially unsure about but grew to love. Shorter hair can sometimes require more maintenance but I've had no problems with this cut. I wake up and my hair curls the way I want it to, which rarely happened with shorter haircuts in the past. I feel brand new and also received many compliments on the new do. Vina is definitely knowledgeable in her craft and offered great advice for any hair related questions I had. $50 for a shampoo and cut wasn't bad at all for the quality of the cut. Highly recommend! read more

This is the worst hair cut I've had in the U.S. First of all, when I called for an appointment, I wanted a hairdresser who cut men's hair better. When I parked my car in the parking lot, I was a bit regretful because this place looks very old, after I walked in, there were three people work there, the front desk lady just point one lady to do my hair cut! That lady Looks surprised, did even know she will be the one cut my hair. When she cut my hair, I knew she is very new, she straight shaved both sides of my hair. When I asked her if there possible to change other prison to cut my hair She directly told me that there was no one else, and the whole haircut process made me feel very uncomfortable. I also had to tell her where the cut was not even, where need to cut more! Also I have a lot of hair on my clothes they didn't cover good be for she cut my hair! At the end Front desk lady ask me to pay $50 for my hair because I'm an Female, but my hair is very short. We argued for a bit,I end up payed $35! But I think the hair cut only worth $10!! The reason why this place got a lot good review because if you give them 5 starts they give 10% discount! Don't believe reviews of this place!!!! Trust me don't go！！！！ read more

Second time here for haircut with Vina. When you call to make an appointment, they are no frills - they didn't bother taking down my name or number. I showed up unsure if they even had my appointment on the books. I waited 15 minutes since she was finishing up with another client, no big deal. This place is awesome because it doesn't smell like chemicals like other places. Vina is very thorough and I love my cut both times. I recommend her and will definitely be back again :) read more

Was looking for a good stylist near my place and found Leo at D2 Hair Salon. He will now be my go-to stylist!!! LOVE my new cut and color. Prices are reasonable and Leo's layering skills are SUPER! I went in with some faded orange highlights, semi purple dye (from a box), and 4 inch roots - it was a mess! I didn't want to highlight my hair again so Leo fixed it with just a 1 time color! I also wanted a more ashy brown and he was able to do that without stripping my hair. Months later and the color is still vibrant and my hair is soft again. Will definitely be back! read more

In town from SD wanted to get some good hair cut. Read up on alot of forums that suggested D2, then I double checked on Yelp and decided to pull the trigger. I haven't cut my hair in over a year due to lack of good stylists. I had bleached blonde hair that also needed some TLC. Alex took care of my color and cut need! I cannot stress enough that I'm a picky picky person when it comes to hair cut, especially since I don't have long hair (if someone mess up your hair there is no room to fix). I'm glad Alex knows what he is doing and also gave some professional suggestions. My hair turned out great both color and cut wise. If you are looking for a new hair stylist or someone to salvage your hair go to D2 and ask for Alex! read more

The place was extremely quiet and pleasant. Vina was really nice, but the haircut she gave was just.. awful (I'm a guy, btw). It's probably because she doesn't know what a two-block cut is. Haircut was so unbalanced. The other side is long, the other side is short, and the back was just a mess. 1 star for her not being rough with the was and 1 star for her being nice. Was it worth it for $40? No. But I still feel bad for not leaving a tip tho. PS: Used a different name read more

This 5 star review is for Leo again. He's skilled and personable. I've been to other stylists in last couple of years and compared Leo is the best with reasonable price.
