More strength and confidence I did the D1 28-day shred challenge because I was tired of making excuses to not start my fitness journey. I had googled many local gyms and D1 was the only one that felt different. I loved the variety of workouts and never got bored. The coaches were amazing and encouraged everyone in the class to push themselves, but also never hesitated to give modifications if I was struggling. At the end of 28 days, I am far from shredded but I am faster and stronger than before and more importantly, I have the discipline and motivation to keep going! -L. Daniel read more

DO NOT give your credit card to D1! They overcharged us (I believe purposely - see remaining for explanation). The local manager, Jonathan Ladd, continuously lies about issuing credits. My intuition is that Jonathan is given an incentive such as a bonus or commission from corporate and relies on people not tracking the exact costs of what they should be paying. We are still owed money from months ago and when we approach Jonathan about it, we receive a very unprofessional snarky repose that he is "AS I TOLD YOU, I'm going to do it but it takes time" which is an outright lie because it has been over a month and he has issued some but not all credits that he admits is owed to us. Again, I believe he is playing this game to pad his numbers on other people's expense which is stealing and goes against their contract with their credit card processor. It's a shame because the program and the facility is great but Jonathan brings an awful stain on the organization. read more

I would stay away from D1. We did the free class, signed up and bought a number of very expensive classes that were supposed to be with a specific coach to help my son with his position/sport. We have not had a good experience. Our coach has changed three different times and we ended up not getting coaches that specialized in our sport like we thought. At one point, we didn't have a coach and could not schedule. Now, We can't get the facility to call us back to schedule our remaining sessions. Not a great way to treat customers! read more

I signed my 8-year-old up for a class, and had multiple texts stating all was good. My son was so excited, only to show up and no class. He was truly heartbroken. read more

The facility over all was really nice and I'm sure with dedication the programs work. However, the issue lies with the person I spoke to during my evaluation. When it came to pricing, it was a lot more expensive than I thought it was and so it was just out of my budget for the time. So when I told the trainer this, she told me that "I clearly wasn't serious about losing the weight I needed to if I wasn't even willing to give it a go" and when I told her I would be able to get the same results at a gym with myself, she told me that i "obviously don't have the dedications for that or I would have done it already". I spent 20 minutes going back and forth with her defending my decision and the whole time she tried to belittle me and guilt me into signing up for the classes that my only concern with was the prices. Now my concern was my mental health if I were to have a trainer like her. Mind you, I am not out of shape, I just was really looking for a community to be a part of and suffices to say, she made sure that, that was not the community I wanted to be a part of. read more

Can't say enough good things about D1. I love the classes and instructors that I have and my kids are having a great time in their training classes as well. The entire staff is super professional and just really genuinely nice people. The environment is big and open and the equipment is of the highest quality. Get over to D1 it's what the pros did! read more

I signed up for the D1 6 week challenge, as I saw it on my Facebook ad and it said it was free. I will say yes it is FREE, however there is a commitment with the challenge which is a security deposit that you will only receive back if you stick to the challenge 100 percent. Let me tell you, DO IT!! First of all what I love about D1 is FAMILY: the coaches, staff and fellow work out buddies we all come together and it just feels like family ( I brought my mom to take a class with me and they were supportive and welcoming). Second, I learned some new workout methods that I now take home with me and can use, thirdly; the coaches they care they were motivating and encouraging they are very engaged. Lastly, what is GREAT is they focus on MY GOAL and not their agenda. They focus on the whole health and being as a person and in this challenge they also provide a nutritionist. Thank you D1! I am super grateful for you and your support! I am beyond blessed and filled for joining your family. P.S. My goal was overall health; gain energy, build healthy habit, make some friends and socialize (since I recently moved out of state) and learn exercises that I can incorporate at home on my own time. I did gain weight; I gained weight through muscle mass. My body is tighter however I am the same size. My goals were accomplished as well! Thank you again. read more

After taking a couple years off and trying other gyms I still ended up right back with D1. They have great coaches an amazing facility and will help you accomplish your fitness goals. As expected I was able to gain muscle and lose fat way quicker than I was able to at other gyms. read more

What to say about what to say about the one D1. Mika is a beast. She pushes you not to heart though, but she makes you want to get the workout done. And all the other trainers There I could hear them workingwith the kids and anybody else I work with 1-on-1, it's a good firm encouragement to do your best but not overdo it. I have a knee injury per se And with modifications I was still able to get the work done and sweat. If I lived closer I would recommend it and I would continue on with the program but I don't and I've got to get this knee looked at but I recommend it to anyone who is able-bodied that really wants to change their workout routine, and their body physique Jeanette Young-Allison read more

D1 fraudulently misrepresented their contract and refuses to refund me. I have chronic knee issues but agreed to the 6 week challenge because a D1 employee assured me I would be fully refunded the $700 if my knee issues acted up. My knee issue started to flare a few weeks in and I needed to listen to my body and stop the challenge. I called, texted, and emailed for a refund for weeks but kept getting the runaround. My fiancé who was continuing the challenge kept hearing from staff that someone would be reaching out for the refund. I then emailed the manager and he said they were struggling to find documentation showing this. I still have not received my refund and am planning to file with consumer affairs for fraudulent misrepresentation. For a business with "integrity" and "accountability" all over the walls, you think they would be true to their word.. I do NOT recommend D1. read more

D1 Training was a great commitment device as part of 12-week self-improvement challenge I gave myself. The workouts are strenuous but I powered through and I was challenged to a level other gyms don't push you too. By the end of the 12 weeks, I was definitely stronger and faster and able to do athletic feats I hadn't been able to do at the beginning. I lost 10 lbs (but probably gained some muscle) and 2 inches on my waist. The fact that I had to be able to get through such workouts 4 to 5 times a week kept me from eating junk and mentally disciplined. It's initial appeal is that it's effectively an open-air gym with a roof when the weather allows, so it doesn't have to close down like other gyms did. And you can buy membership by the week or by the class, which is why it was perfect for a short-time intense commitment for me. For me, it was intimidating how strong the other members were, but they were always nice even though I'd be the last person plodding back in place when we did sprints. They occasionally have parties for the members, especially to celebrate fitness achievements. The one I took my family to felt like a college party, so that can be a pro or con for you. I'd encourage anyone to try the initial free class they offer to try it out. read more

Love this gym. The the community. Love the workouts. Love the staff. All in all, it's the place you look forward to - whether that's in the morning to get you out of bed, that much needed mid day break, or that afternoon end of day workout. read more

My 6-week challenge experience: Likes: workouts are challenging, clean facility, easy access, showers on-site, quality coaches (Mika & Santiago), unlimited class sizes (I didn't have to worry about signing up before arriving).  I really enjoyed both coaches; they knew when to push me and when to leave me alone. I appreciated their willingness to allow me to modify (or suggest a modification) when my back/knee/wrist pain fired up. Room to improve: properly named yoga poses ie coach says "cobra" but everyone is doing "up-dog". Down dog should be avoided when heart rate is too high. A healthier transition suggestion is (when heart rate is high) go to child's pose first for a few breaths then go to down dog. Music needs to be monitored for explicit lyrics, especially when children are present. Ie Lyrical content heard was glorifying drug use ("lightening", "bags up my ass", "won't land for 13hours") kids were about to begin a session when that song played. Need to set a better example for our community, adults and children alike. I am not familiar with the acronyms used during instruction, for example EMOM/AMRAP, and whistle use (by coaches) was usually confusing (start? stop? keep going? switch?) Dislikes: Too many people at times; class size too big. Black rubber pebbles from the turf are obnoxious; stick to my body and are scattered in my car and house. 12 straight minutes of anaerobic activity is not for everyone and felt like it stressed my adrenal system and can have adverse effects on the body. I avoided being paired up; 1. my cadence is slow and steady, endurance is my strength and keeps my injuries in check. 2.being a beginner, everyone was at a much higher fitness level, than I was. (I don't want to hold others back when I am the weaker link and therefore prefer solo exercises). I made three requests (one per week for the first three weeks) for the nutritionist to contact me, the third time asking for his/her number so I could reach out but was told they'd contact me and never did. My fourth check-in regarding the nutritionist came at week #4; Megan assured me I would not be held responsible for their lack of follow through on my program. Must be self-motivated, which fortunately I am, but for others looking for support during the challenge, there isn't any. (No follow-up from anyone to see how my challenge is progressing). I did receive this email from Madalyn about how it's going on day 38 of my 40 day program. I've never met her in person (that I am aware of) and have no background on who she is or her role at D1. I received a marketing email for a free core-building guide but the link takes me to an "exclusive member login" which doesn't recognize my email or give me the option to register. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at D1. It is a great summertime facility but it will be too cold for me during winter. My physical progress over 6 weeks, using my own nutritional guidance, was -6.4lbs fat, +0.2lbs muscle, -2.9% body fat. read more

I joined D1 Cool Springs for a six week challenge and wanted to share my experience. TLDR: It is hard work but is was worth it! At first it was super intimidating to walk into a gym with a weight room and other folks that knew what they were doing. It took me a couple weeks to get over that. In hindsight, I don't think it mattered. While In the gym, Santi and Mika were there everyday to teach me either through modified forms that worked for me or to push me cause goodness knows, sometimes I need it. As the weeks moved on, I grew stronger and getting my body moving and training definitely made a difference! My clothes fit better, I'm not as winded going up stairs, and ironically, I have more energy. If you don't know where to start your journey to getting stronger and fitter, I say, start here. Do the workouts, learn about eating better, be more attuned to your body.. it's hard work but worth it. read more

Maybe don't blast your music at 7 am when there's a hotel next door? Maybe?? Be considerate for goodness sake.

My experience at D1 Training in Cool Springs was amazing. The trainers know their stuff and push you to do better in all aspects during training. They will not let you slack off and give you tips and how to do it better. They talk to you and make you part of the team and they celebrate your achievements with you. The only reason I am not continuing with this program it's due to economics and nothing to do with the establishment. It was awesome all the way around. read more

This place is amazing! I walked in, having done traditional strength training in the past, and fully expected to have no issue keeping up. I was wrong! D1 really takes fitness to the next level. My goal was to try something new and hopefully lose some weight. The class format, which is lead by amazing trainers, in an awesome open-air facility, is a great experience. They preach it in their motto, you are not joining a gym, you are joining a team. Your classmates help keep you honest and the trainers and staff are there to motivate you and guide you through each exercise. The hour-long routines are trainer-led stretching, cardio, core/balance routines as well as weight training. I leave every session soaked in sweat and excited for the next class. read more

D1 Summer Shred was amazing! I will be honest, I was a little intimidated at first. But everyone from the trainers to the members were great and supportive. I had to have some of my exercises modified so I could do them and the trainers were very accommodating. They pushed me when I needed it! I look forward to continuing to workout at D1! read more

I did the 6-week challenge and my overall rating/experience would be a 3.5 out of 5. My bf and I decided to do the challenge together. You are required to make a fully refundable $600 deposit to do the challenge. You are required to complete certain things that are on the contract. The terms were not hard to meet at all (3 workouts per week, a few check-ins, post weekly pics, & leave an honest review.). I will list the pros and cons of my experience. Please note that I am not an athlete so these classes were very challenging for me. My normal gym is Orange theory which is a lot more cardio-focused and not a ton of heavy lifting whereas D1 has a lot more lifting. I would say that if you are a former athlete or if you would like to train like an athlete, this would be the perfect gym for you. If you do not want to lift weights, or are looking for a cardio-focused gym/workout, this is not for you. Pros - The coaches are great (Santi and Mika), even though I was new to weight lifting both coaches were very encouraging and showed modified versions of workouts if needed. They also taught me proper techniques so that I would not injure myself - The music is great and gets you going - The people are very friendly in the class which also motivates you - The workouts are fairly diverse and you get to work different muscles each day Cons - The class times are very limited for the group classes. In the afternoon the latest class is at 5:00 PM and since we both work, we had to take the 5:00 am classes most days. It would have been nice to have later class options - The gym/field is full during the 5:00 PM classes, there are lots of kids training at this time - The weights are rusty and dirty, so be prepared to have black hands at the end of each class... not a deal-breaker, just something I noticed compared to other gyms I've been to - We were required to attend 3 accountability calls with a Nutrition coach, but about 1/2 way through the challenge, the Nutrition coach left the company. We scheduled our next calls, but each time no one called us which was disappointing because both times we had to schedule around work to attend the calls read more

I unfortunately am changing my 5 star review to a 1 star review. They told my fiancé that her money would be refunded for the 6 week challenge should her chronic knee condition become an issue. It did unfortunately and now they are going back on their word. Manipulative and dishonest bussiness practices I can not in good conscious recommend. read more

I was staying at the local Marriot (literally 100 yards from D1) which had a sad hotel gym consisting of one treadmill, a stationary bike and a few weights when I stopped in to check out D1. They had a morning "bootcamp" class the next morning available, and because it was my first time it was free so I decided to attend. Austin, the instructor (or "coach") was great and the class was a hell of a workout. I would recommend D1 to anyone in the area. I think if you pop in randomly its $20 for the day which is pricey, but this isn't your standard gym. If you are looking for a rows of cardio machines this place isn't for you. D1 is group classes with very high intensity strength training with cardio intermixed. Great hour and I will be back. read more

Definitely recommend! The group workouts are no joke. High intensity, full body, weights, conditioning, performance, strength, they do it all. I feel so much more well-rounded and really enjoyed the group workout atmosphere. Incredibly challenging and so rewarding! read more

Great, great workout! The staff are all amazing and all the people that workout there are awesome. If you're looking for a tough workout with great people this is the place! read more

I have left a few voicemails with the staff at D1 in Franklin, and I haven't received any response back from Admin...alitle disappointed in the lack of follow up. I saw the six week challenge Instagram as an advertisement that be a great way to get the school year started. I signed up for my consultation and they measured me on the embody scale. After all that was done they hit me with an over $600 deposit which I wasn't prepared for. I understand they have to protect their company but it was a little offsetting that they said it was free and now I have a deposit to pay. They said it will be returned to me once the program was completed which was part of my motivation to finish this program. I will agree the workouts are hard but they are affective. Both coaches that I worked with Mika & Santi are very knowledgeable as well as they will give you alternatives if you have limitations or injuries which was really important to me. Savannah that was my initial nutritionist who unfortunately had to leave the team after that the nutrition was kind of chaotic (which I understand they were doing their best to fill in the position) and it wasn't as consistent as I would've liked it to be because I was really excited to focus on nutrition and really emphasize a lifestyle change. The facility kind of remind me of a high school training facility. I live in Nashville so getting the facility was really hard and since I'm a teacher rush-hour traffic was not on my side. I would often spend a half hour to get there in a half hour back. If you live in the area this is a great choice for you if you really want to kickstart a lifestyle change. I would say if you haven't worked out before this place is definitely a place where you can learn as well as if they get a consistent nutritionist that you can learn from there. read more

D1 is a nice facility offering classes that seem to be a decent combo of boot camp and crossfit. The layout is something that's new to me. Walk into what is essentially a big spacious shed and they have a large turf field that is 50+ yds long and 30 yds wide or so. Off to the side they have a bunch of racks, weights, kettlebells, and a couple of rowing machines. There are garage doors on both sides that open up (as opposed to the garage doors that DON'T open up?) so it's not absolutely miserable all the time. I'm not a big fan of crossfit just due to the heavy lifting and I'm just not at the point in my life where I feel I need to deadlift 250lbs...It just doesn't do it for me. Anyway, there are some bootcamp aspects to these classes and a healthy dose of cardio as well. Something about pushing sleds of weights like high school football practice is just fun to me. The classes tend to vary a lot, and that is great for a lot of reasons. Most of the classes I have been have been 100% guys, for whatever that is worth. The locker rooms are marginal at best, but if that's the only downfall, I'll take it. Overall a great alternative to a box gym and is good to do 2 or 3 times a week. For me personally, going more than that might be too much heavy lifting, but that's just me. I also don't wear tank tops. Or have a mullet. Not that there's anything wrong with that. read more

I love D1. I have been attending for almost 5 years now. I love the classes and can't miss Ultimate frisbee on Fridays. The classes always change and there are different types whether you want more strength training or more cardio based.
