Same great taste in a spiffy new room. I love these wings. Sweet, savory, spicy. Did I say spicy? Ghost pepper is the bottom of the three top levels. You pretty much have to sign a release to eat the top one. All good? Not totally... I think they are still going through teething pains getting used to having 30 or so tables rather than the half dozen in the old place. I was expecting (nor did I want!) Let me start by saying the wings and burger we ordered were good. Enjoyed the fries too. They could add a few things for a better experience: Ketchup shouldn't be in to go packets you have to get yourself from the counter. Napkins would be great at the table...wings are messy and it's a pain to have to go to the counter for more. 1 Wet wipe cloth that is barely big enough to wash one finger doesn't do the job after messy wings. Real silverware and not plastic would be nice too. D Spot has good wings and I enjoyed them, but I felt I was up and down too much to relax and enjoy the lunch. read more

They excel where most places fail: adding flavor with spice. Most places add spice but no flavor, D-spot adds both. D-spot is also conveniently located near a grocery store, so you can tell your wife you are shopping while eating wings. This restaurant has a TON of options when it comes to wing sauces and flavors. It can be a bit overwhelming to determine which wings you'll decide to order, but each flavor has a brief description so that helps. The only reason I gave this place 3/5 stars is because it seems the service is a bit lacking. You only get 5 wings for I believe $8.99 due to the apparent increase in chicken prices as stated on the restaurant's door. There are also very few people serving/taking orders which may be due to the shortage of workers across the country. I'm not sure, but you can definitely feel it at this restaurant. We had to ask for someone to add ice in the ice machine. My daughter also fell asleep while waiting for our wings to come out. Food was ok. Definitely was not a bad experience though. Disappointing Spot!!! Wings were cooked terribly especially for a place that specializes in wings. It cost us 37 dollars for 24 wings that were hard and dry. First review. Have been going to D-Spot for about the past 3 years and generally love it. However went this past Saturday - I ordered a dozen wings (Tarantula and Puff the Magic Dragon) and my wife ordered 6 (Asian BBQ) - and we both thought the wings were the worst we've had since we started going there. The flavors (i.e. sauces) were great, but the chicken seemed to be way overcooked as it was dry and tough. Don't get me wrong I still ate them all, but was disappointed. The onion rings and seasoned fries were great as always. One other suggestion, if you order to go and they give you a time there is no need to show up on time because if you do, you'll be waiting a minimum of 15 minutes. read more

This wing joint puts all others to shame. Talk about variety-- dozens of sauces to choose from, sweet, savory, spicy, and HOT. Something for everyone. Menu is almost overwhelming. All sauces are made from scratch. A lot of innovative flavors and combinations of ingredients. Onion rings are very tasty. Minnesota beers are featured heavily. A couple of wines to choose from. Order at the front counter and your food will be brought to you. Take-out is a great option as well. At peak times, you'll wait a pretty long time for your food. After 6pm, it could take nearly an hour no matter how small your order is. They haven't quite figured out how to deal with being slammed. I'll say that the food is worth the wait and does not disappoint. Just don't go on a completely empty stomach if it's Friday or Saturday night. read more

I didn't know what to expect. My friends and I came here on a whim on a Saturday at 6/6:30pm. Once we ordered our food we waited exactly one hour before we went up to the counter to ask what was taking so long. The bartender with a mustache was sooo rude and told me that were busy in a rushed manner. I get that they were busy but I would have liked to be given some type of sympathy. 1 hour is a long time to wait for wings. The Asian bbq and buffalo wings tasted gummy, kind of like it had been boiled and then fried. Maybe it was just not fried long enough. I don't know. I was not impressed. I'm not a chef myself but I do know what gummy chicken taste like. On the side note: one of my friends fries were not brought out, my other friend ordered blue moon wings and got blue moon beer instead. It was very frustrating but those issues were eventually handled in a decent time matter. read more

I've been 'touring' the menu and haven't found a wing flavor that I didn't love. Some of my favorites include the War Machine (jerk rub, honey, chili), Tarantula (my top favorite so far with soy glaze, roasted garlic, chili, dry rub, fried garlic), Wombat (buffalo and jerk), black Widow (soy glaze, cracked fennel, dry rub), Chicken & Waffles (sweet but to die for!), The Canadian (again sweet with bourbon, brown sugar, maple and sea salt), Sri Lanka Treat (pineapple with cayenne).... I could go on! The Red Baron burger is life changing with caramelized shallots and red wine butter and top it all off with the seasoned fries with 'special yellow sauce'. I took the fam here today as I've been RAVING to everyone about D-Spot. Just as fantastic as the first time!!!! The food was great. Service was great. The restaurant was very clean as well. Wings - Black Widow: A soy glaze with just a hint of heat but not overly spicy. Oooh so good. My wife loved it. Tome Sawyer: A reduced strawberry jam to almost crisp the wings. Not spicy at all. The flavor is out...staaaaaaaaaanding! Hallucinogenic Blue: Creamy blue cheese with blue cheese crumbles. My son ordered the grilled PB&J. He said it was by far the best he's ever had. He did say it was a little too gooey but would definitely order it again. My daughter ordered the chicken strips. Daayuumn! Fantastic! We ordered a soda. D-Spot serves Jones soda and another I can't remember. Jones all natural soda is really good. We were served a ton of fries that we couldn't eat all of. All-in-all, my wife and children were very impressed, which is great. A new restaurant to go to with the kidlets! This place is amazing! Darin (who developed this restaurant) really understands how to put a delicous spin and provide a huge variety of flavors around the simple concept of a chicken wing joint. Yes, they serve burgers, sandwiches, fries, beer and soft drinks as well and I'm certain that the staff does a great job of delivering those professionally. But if you don't try the wings you are missing the point of your visit. Personally I love the flavors in War Machine, Tarantula, Buffalo Bill, Iron Man and Muay Thai. I've never ventured to the high heat end of the menu but I work with friends who have and they comment that while the spice is intense (think Seppuku, which I am told that you have to order at least a day in advance and protective gear is required to prepare) the taste is not just insane heat, but flavorfully creative as well. We spent a small fortune ordering 4 different types of wings. We were notified very quickly via the app that they were almost ready for pickup. Too quick we now understand. Apparently asking for 'extra crispy' on all your wing options when ordering means absolutely nothing. We picked them up and opened up the boxes at home they were all soggy and the skin on the wings was still white and rubbery. They were cooked, just not crispy. On our receipt they had even put 'extra crispy' on the order but it didn't mean a thing. Very disappointed as there's nothing worse than rubbery chicken wing skin. read more

Their dry rubs are also amazing. You know how there is a typical amount of dryness to expect when you get a dry rub? The food is always good, and that is now the only reason we might go. The service has steadily and noticeably declined over the last couple of years. The last two times we ate in, the manager was: 1) yelling f-bombs in the kitchen (so loud every diner could hear) apparently because one of the employees was late or a no show: and, 2) walking around our table giving detailed instructions to one of the employees about how to fix the legs on a dining table. Our grandkids do not need to hear f-bombs, and we do not need to pay more than $50 to dine while listening to the manager do work in the dining area that should not be done while diners are trying to have a family conversation. And any restaurant that charges $0.50 to put mustard on a hamburger does not understand something pretty basic about people who eat burgers in MN. There is no good reason for this petty and annoying charge. Three orders of wings (6 piece), two hamburgers and two sodas were just over $50. Disappointed and sad. This place had so much potential, and was a must-go-every week when it was just a dive behind the McDonalds. read more

The Kamikaze wings are sweet and savory and delicious and the wild bill buffalo wings' mix of buffalo sauce, blue cheese, and jerk rub is highly recommended.
