We almost didn't try this place because of location--meaning the last two restaurants in this building were not good. But, it's Mexican now, and we had to try it out. Glad we did. First the chips and salsa were exceptional--fresh and crispy with no greasiness. Then we were served a complimentary small quesadilla which was a nice touch. Our two entrees, a chicken mole served with rice and beans and fresh avocado. My husbands only remark: more mole sauce please. I had a combination chile relleno, enchilada and chimichanga and asked for double beans and no rice. I was pleasantly surprised that my meal came with a generous portion of freshly made guacamole. Very unusual. Both meals were both well-prepared and tasty. This is not chain food, which means experience may vary--hence some odd review discrepancies. But our meal was not only very authentic, our server was above par and very attentive and very willing to accomodate my menu change of double beans with no rice. Another pleasant surprise was a complimentary dessert taco with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. Yum! Best of all, the prices are very reasonable and portions are a good value. Stopped in here for dinner as a break from Six Flags (didn't want to eat in the park and they are one minute away). Honestly, so blown away by the service we received. It felt like in a world where most restaurants are stingy and nickel and dime you, they went above and beyond. We got free chips; free mini quesadillas, a free banana dessert and a free tequila shot. The food was good, some of the best refried beans I've had and the red sauce that came with the steak enchiladas was super good. This place was subpar at best. I'm honestly surprised by all the amazing reviews I'm reading after the fact ... and I'm generally a very positive review giver if you look at my other ones. Both our stomachs hurt that night and the whole next day. We got there around 5pm on Thursday. Not a soul was there. We ended up there because where we always go was closed for family vacation. The place had an odor of straight cleaning products and old cleaning water. More people did end up showing up before we left. It's very small - limited seating. Can imagine it gets very busy. Ample parking. The salsa was delicious - had a good kick to it. But we were given supremely stale chips. Should I have said something - yes. My husband ordered the burritos but what came out looked like flautas or enchiladas maybe? He said they tasted good. I ordered a combo meal taco, tostado, enchilada all very tasty. The food came out so fast though like less than 5-10 minutes which makes me question how it's cooked .... And then the rice is the worst! It definitely looks and tastes like pre packaged microwave bag rice. It has this very dried up dark orange color with small shriveled peas in it. The beans did not taste good either. I ate my meal but barely touched the rice/beans which was sort of a waste for $16. We also both ordered strawberry margaritas. Did not ask for frozen but that's how it came (even though we chose salt or sugar on the rim - seemed very weird)... $10 was a lot for a margarita I tasted no tequila in. They do give you a complimentary dessert at the end it's like a small scoop of ice cream and whip cream with some fried shell of some sort drizzled with chocolate - the fried part was very weird tasting. There were only 2 gentleman working there and although they were nice enough, nothing to write home about. We paid $64 before tip for our meals listed above and one child's cheese quesadilla. This is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. I relocated to CT from CA, and had a hard time finding decent Mexican. This place is AWESOME. This place was an absolute delight. We got there within 35 minutes of closing and weren't sure if they would even seat us. Not only did they not rush us they gave us VIP treatment! My shrimp and white sauce was so good and they even accommodated my Leto diet by taking off the rice and replacing with a side salad. This restaurant is right down the street from my family house and this was the first time I tried it. I loved that you got free chips and salsa as well as a small, warm. Quesadilla filled with cheese! It was soooooo good! The salsa was just the right amount of hot with6being too hot. I also ordered a half pitcher of sangria which was awesome with brandy mixed in. Our dinner was quickly served, was nice and hot, and was really tasty. I love that the refried beans were thin like an apple sauce and were not runny or too salty. They also melted cheese on top. I had the chicken enchilada verses and the chicken was moist, tender, and you can see it was real chicken! All 3 of us eating were very pleased with the quantity and quality of food. Service and extras unmatched. Great service. Beef fajitas came in a delicious red sauce. Chips and salsa hit the table immediately after we sat down. I came to eat here after going to six flags and when I tell u their food was amazing I mean it. not only was the food amazing but the atmosphere in general was superb!! the presentation of the food was also unbelievable, the service was also spectacular they were so nice. Can't say enough about this place and would highly encourage anyone looking for great service and great food to come here. Was in town for an event with my family and their friends with Mexican food being the target. Decided to come here due to location and claim of being able to accommodate larger parties. We arrived, with no forewarning and they had no problem quickly setting up a table for 8 and settling us in. No sooner had the menus been distributed when the waters and chips and salsa showed up. The menu selection had something for everyone and everyone enjoyed their meals. Food was prepared well and very tasty. The service was prompt and attentive. They were always there, but not in the "bad timing" way. They genuinely seemed to care and wanted to make sure we never waited long for anything. This is a place we all plan on coming back to. Staff were very nice and attentive but we had something like 4 staff coming to our table on rotating to take thi gs, check on us etc. It just felt overkill. This is a wonderful Mexican restaurant right near the entrance to Six Flags. I just had a late lunch/early dinner there and I think I've been here 3 or 4 times now. The service is excellent. All of the staff are friendly, prompt and professional. The food is excellent. We had the mole chicken enchiladas and the chicken enchiladas verdes with guacamole for an appetizer. Our waiter also brought each of us a sample quesadilla appetizer for free and a chimichanga desert sample for free too. For context I am half Mexican and have been to Mexico dozens of times and I give D Patron two thumbs up! read more

When we were finished, they surprised us with a free dessert of a fried banana and vanilla ice cream. Tried out the Mexican restaurant as we were at a party near by ealier in the day. First impression was uh oh as there were absolutely no other cars in the parking lot and it was a Saturday. The open sign was on so we went ahead and said lets try it they had alot of good reviews. Once we got seated everything was great, well everything except the food. The waiters were wonderful. There were about 3 people taking care of us and they were all really nice and professional. For starters we got the normal batch of free chips and salsa the most Mexican restaurants give you but then 5 minutes later they arrived wit a free cheese quesadilla as well. The drinks were good although the margarita's could have used more alcohol. The main courses were portioned well but just your generic flavors and nothing to brag about. By far the worst item they have and should fix immediately are the refried beans, or should I say refried soup. There was not one sign of an actual bean as it was the most watered down refried beans I have ever had. I'm sure they water them down to save money but that ruined all of are plates except the one smart person in my party that asked for the black beans. The rice was deep colored so I was expecting flavor but nope just plain rice that was colored. The big surprise was at the end we recieved yet another free item this time a desert, ice cream and banana rolled up and then one more free item a round of shots. This place is not horrible, the food definitely needs to improve but the good service and free items probably has everyone leaving good reviews when they should just be average. Love the service but cannot recommend unless you live in that neighborhood and dont feel like driving anywhere else. read more
