Stumbled upon this place on a late night exploration whim and ended up coming back here 2x! This place is hopping at night with locals, which was fun to experience vs being in a touristy area. I actually prefer this. And since we were basically one of the few foreigners there, and being the only Asian ones around, they remembered my name both times I ordered and re-ordered! quite funny!
Fresh juices: we tried fresh pineapple juice - this was delicious and not too sweet/strong as some drinks can be.
FOOD: Empanadas, sopes, tostadas, panuchos (with chicken), salbutes!... It was all tasty tasty tasty - addictingly so. Food was cooked fresh, staff were friendly and even if they didn't understand much english, the spot is hopping with enough locals there was always someone around to ask questions to: especially when it came to explaining the difference between certain items. Truth be told, I still don't understand the differentials between certain dishes, but it didn't really matter because everything was SOOO good. We pretty much inhaled the food, it was that good. Meat-wise, we tried the chicken, lomo, beef, carne, and I don't remember what else. There were also plenty of sauces / toppings to customize your food as you like it and at $3 a meal for a ton of food, that made it even better.
The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the quesadillas.. but everything else was muy muy bien!! Definitely a spot to try out if you visit Cancun! read more
