Love this place! Started going there a few years ago, on the recommendation of a co-worker. Turns out several colleagues were all getting their hair cut by Fran. Well, I couldn't be happier. What a relaxed, down-to-earth place, the people are friendly and Fran is super fast, which I love. I can get in and out in about 30 minutes, with a wash, cut and blow dry. How does she do that?????? Makes it very easy to squeeze appointments in over lunch. But it's so fun to hang out, sometimes I wish it took a little longer for her to do my hair...LOL! read more

I love this place! I needed a haircut right away for a job interview and they were able to give me an appointment same day without any hassle. When I got there, Ana met me at the door, introduced herself and let me know that Don was cutting my hair. She also gave me a nice piece of homemade carrot cake and talked to me until is was time for me to get my hair cut, which made the whole experience very homey. Don did a fantastic job on my hair. I usually have trouble explaining what I want to my stylists and they are usually hesitant to give me what I want. Don knew right away what I wanted, and was able to cut my bangs in such away that the natural curl keeps them out of my face (This is a HUGE bonus for me, because my bangs were always flopping into my face at inconvenient times) Afterward we discussed my hair and what kind of brush I should use to get rid of the frizzing issues I've been having. It was a great experience and I'm going back without a doubt. The one thing that gave me pause is the price. I ended up paying $72. I don't think that is entirely unreasonable, because I look like a supermodel right now and I don't mind paying for quality. However, I won't be able to go back as often as I wanted with that price point. Oh well. I guess the point is I'm going back anyway =) In short: Go and have a wonderful time! I searched salons in my area that did Brazilian Blowouts, and this place was one of the options that came up. I took a chance by making an appointment without ever having heard anything about this place, and I'm pleased to say I was pleasantly surprised! I got my hair cut about 2 weeks ago and I absolutely loved it! A week after my cut, I went back for the Brazilian Blowout, and let me just say, I've never been happier with my hair. I'm sure the blowout proceedure is the same at other salons, but I was so pleased with the entire experience that I would highly recommend this place. I was also very happy with the price for both my cut and the blowout. I paid $72 for a great haircut, whereas I paid $65 at another salon and was completely disappointed with how the woman butchered my hair. The blowout was $200 compared to other places where they charge anywhere from $300-$350! If you're looking for a great place to get a cut, definitely check it out! read more

For me, D Joseph Salon is as good as it gets. I move a lot and my hair always seems to pose a challenge to new stylists. It's medium length and very fine, but there's a whole lot of it. D Joseph's was the third salon I'd tried since moving to Norwalk and I will definitely be back! Don understood everything I told him about my hair and noticed a few things that I didn't mention (like how the left side naturally curves under, but not the right--what gives?) After an hour's worth of attentive care, I left feeling great with the best haircut I've had in over a year. This place is great! I travel for business often and have had haircuts from multiple salons across the US. So when I stopped at D Joseph I was expecting another subpar haircut that I'd have to deal with for another 3 weeks. However, I can honestly say the owner, Don, gives the BEST men's haircut I've ever gotten since I've been on the road. Don spends the time necessary to shape and layer your hair to the point where you will only need a comb and towel dry before you are ready to go. He's been in business for 30 years and you can tell. Great haircut and I just wished I was in CT for longer so I could get haircuts from Don more often. Oh yeah... And the service is great... Don gave me directions so I could go site seeing through Greenwich on my way to my Grandma's house for Easter. Thanks guys! read more
