Small Jamaican mom & pops shop off north ave. I ordered the oxtail with cabbage and rice, with a few carrots in the mix; extra gravy. There were no choices available for small or medium portions - he told me there was just a large platter for 19.99$ I'm like, THATS KINDA Pricey! Sounds like a shady scheme to me. But I went for it anyway, cause it smelled delicious. The food was good and not just average Jamaican fare, VERY GOOD melt in Your mouth oxtail delicious. I'm biased, cause I love cabbage, the cabbage was fresh and just how I liked it cook, a little more on the crispy side and less soft. The rice was marinating in that brown oxtail sauce and it was scrumptious! Highly recommend the food here, the price I thought was a bit high. Carry on foodies! And don't forget to eat a mint afterwards for good digestion. Bon Appetito!

I don't know how I've spent so many years in New Rochelle without ever hearing about this place. I dropped by late on a Monday night and ordered a plate of oxtail, rice n peas, veggies and plantains. It was about $17.00 and worth every last penny. One of the gentlemen behind the counter made a bold claim that he had the best jerk chicken in westchester. It's a bold statement but I'm a believer. I'm surprised that this place doesn't have more presence on Yelp. They accept CC's, they deliver, there is parking on the street and a parking lot on the side. This place is #winning. Can't wait for my next visit...... yes the oxtail is better than the "other" two places in new Rochelle.

So my aunt and I decided to try this place after having been referred by my uncle some weeks ago and after reading some of the yelp reviews, which sad to say, steered me wrong... because the food was terribly D'Gusting! My aunt ordered a large oxtail with white rice and cabbage and a small jerk chicken with rice and peas and cabbage; I also ordered the small jerk (wanting to play it safe being that this was my first time).the prices were normal; no issues there... While fixing the plates the man was on his cordless phone (had the phone sitting between his ear and shoulder), and as we were trying to ask him to put gravy on the rice, homeboy had the nerve to look over his shoulder at us and give us the "hold on" signal... AND THEN once he decided to get off the phone said to us "what were you saying" lol!! ok... moving along... it took him almost 20/25min just to fix our plates (the jerk chicken n oxtail were not made to order) and I know some of the reviews said that it was best to call ahead of time... but damn!!... Now getting to the bad part... Before I could even get in my front door, my aunt who lives closer to the restaurant than I do, was already home and had started to eat her meal, calls me and told me the oxtails barely had any meat on them and the cabbage tasted uncooked... and that she threw the whole meal in the trash! Smh! Now me, still hoping for the best, opened mine up, took a spoonful of rice and realized the rice wasn't fully cooked! And just to make sure, I took about 3/4 extra spoonfuls and got the same... smh! I was more than disappointed and even worst: STARVING! Only thing that was half decent was the jerk chicken, which I ate with some Hawaiian rolls I'd already had... if you know good Jamaican food, don't even waste your time! Pure disappointment!

The hidden diamond of New Rochelle, however make sure you order a head or take your time talking to Lenard (the owner and chief - who is actually really cool) the food is mildly spicy, tasty and has that home cooked feeling. Other new Rochelle Jamaican places over spice lately, that's why I go to Lenard's. The price is right, it has a parking area right next to it so it's all convenient

I was soo hungry and stopped by this place for first time a few days ago. I ordered the oxtail it was delicious!! The gentleman and lady working there were very nice and made me feel welcomed. The place was small, quaint and clean.

The food is delicious. The portions are fair, service is lovely! Casual easy ambiance! So much better than G*lden C*ust.

Perfectly cooked, just the right amount of spice, the sauce had okra and other veggies in it.

I ordered the pepper shrimp, a rum punch and an brown stew fish with rice and peas. There is a sign that says that they have the best rum punch and that is a lie. This was one of the worst I've had. It tasted watered down, did not have the full body that good rum punches have. Somehow I received the fish and rice and no peppered shrimp. Which was taken off the bill. The food was good which is why I gave a 2 but the customer service needs to be improved. I also had stopped in to book an event. The prix fix menu is limited but add ons can be done. When I left the young lady informed that someone would get back to me, thing is Noone ever did and what is more interesting is that today they are holding a rum brunch. Informing that the event could not be honored would have been appreciated. Thankfully I pivoted to another place.

They have a DJ here on the weekends and the service was quite good.

I'm a…read moreprecovid frequent dinner and take out was never really my problem thing when I frequented here because it had a certain ambiance with the service when ever I dinned in there that brought me back over and over with different people to experience. So I was so very disappointed when after Covid they continued with the only pick up service. The food quality is enough to continue yes but the vibe dining in and at the bar I truly miss. My daughters fell in love with this place because every time we walked into that dinning room there was a particular servers who KNEW US. They knew us enough to know my daughters had a favorite table (the 1st we sat at dinning there). They know us to know that my daughters had special distinction drink mocktails (one of the reasons the fell in love wit this place) that they could order even when it was no longer in the menu. This was one of those places we frequented....even if they couldn't get their special table or waiter, the quality never disappointed. During Covid we order delivery regularly because we didn't realize how much this spot because our Caribbean food must have. I can't say we ever really had tried a different meal from over favorable ones that made us say this is one thing they don't get right to us. And the rum punches and Bob Marley drinks they served during their dinning days is what got me to the pin t I had to start stopping in this joint just to have a drink and appetizers. This really used to be by spot back when they had dine in services. Over the years it's in our delivery/pickup Bronx favorite list unfortunately. I say unfortunately because now that we are back at full operational living. I har to slash the delivery/pickup weekly rituals to only situations of desperation not necessity. So this spot has only become a craving order delivery/pickup order spot. Not a I got some/gonna make some time to go enjoy a drink and some Caribbean food spot destination. Which this was my #1 default choice before Covid as I said this used to be my spot. I would take my daughters here damn there biweekly if not be there weekly myself on dates and when hanging out . Cause they people there were serious enough about customer service they would acknowledge knowing who you are and treat you as such. Hence again why my daughters loved this place as kids. *Looks right and left* a yoo when yall opening the dinning in area again cause it's been log enough now...FIX IT! lol

I remember when Fish N' Ting first opened several years ago and I'm pleased to know that this family run establishment is still kicking. I would put it in my top five list for Jamaican restaurants in the city. The menu is wide and varying and accommodating of different diets. If you love jerk chicken, you need to try it here! The jerk chicken lovers in my life can't get enough. My recommended dishes are the whiting (fried) with rice and peas, rasta pasta and now the lobster (which I didn't know they had). The seafood is made to order, fresh and super tasty. I never thought sweet chili and lobster would be a good combo but it totally rocks! It was truly delectable. My only issue is that they charge for gravy if the dish isn't saucy (as if) lol but I get it!
