My niece went to the salon. Wanted a red tint. Spent four hours there and $400 dollars and got magenta!!! A bright pink !!!!Horrible she could not go To work like that. Came home in tears and bought a over the counter dye to fix It. She Called owner the next day. Would not give a refund. Not Even partial one. They Offered to fix her hair, She did not want her hair fixed,They already destroyed her hair and she had to fix it herself. Not good, she was told to steer clear of that salon but she decided to try anyway. Stay away. read more

I went in to inquire about laser hair removal and I was informed by the receptionist that they don't have a laser that can perform on individuals with darker skin a.k.a. black people. As a black woman I was embarrassed & ashamed that a salon in such a diverse town like Nyack could not accommodate African-Americans. I would give 0 stars if possible. read more

Senior hair stylist Rosie is amazing! The front desk and hair assistants were very friendly and helpful. The only thing I didn't care for was that the owner made his clients the priority over the rest of the clients, ie hair assistant went to wash color out of my hair but the owner stopped her and told her she had to wash out his clients hair and that I could wait. Other then that I had a great experience and will be returning to only see ROSIE!! read more

Styling and color services are good but not consistent. They have a pricing system that charges more for bleach if they have to mix extra after starting the process. I have NEVER encountered this. You would think the right amount of bleach needed to do the highlighting would be included in the price! Also, they add $3 to your bill for a "covid cleaning fee". You would think every service establishment would want to keep their space as sanitary as possible, without you having to pay extra for it, and I never saw any extra effort being made to spray down high touch areas anyway. Lastly, if you want to use a credit card to pay - they pass that charge on to you ! So it's cash or check if you don't want to pay their merchant fee. Seems like a lot of effort is made to pad your bill with these extra fees. Many clients may not even notice these extra fees, because they email you your receipt after you pay and leave. Lots of other good salons that don't try to rip you off. Not going back. read more

Yesterday was my first visit to D Anthony's Hair Studio and it will certainly not be my last! My hair was a complete mess and desperately needed color correction and a cut. The salon is beautifully done, but what stood out to me the most are the staff. They are friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely nice people that went above and beyond to make the experience perfect for their clients. I enjoyed my stay and, most importantly, am completely in love with my new hair! The color is perfectly matched to the photos I brought with me and feels soft again. Been getting my hair cut here for years. Things have been crazy with my schedule recently and of course the craziness with the Coronavirus that's been going on. I had intended to cancel my hair appointment this week but it slipped my mind until the day of. I understand a cancellation fee and support it. It's only right but the full price of the haircut is outrageous. Especially for a loyal customer who continues coming back. Not to mention I have never been made aware of this policy up until now. I am very unhappy with this and I believe for returning customers the first time should be waived or perhaps not the full price of the service. I have to say I love my hairdresser but I will no longer be supporting this business and will have to look elsewhere for good customer service and understanding policies especially when the world is freaking out over a pandemic. read more

It is long, very thick, and curly and prior to this it has been extremely difficult to find someone who understands my hair and trusts that I know it very well too. Carly has really listened to my concerns about other stylists I've seen and given me a great style that doesn't just look like the same curly hair cut that everyone seems to give in the NY/NJ suburbs (you know what I'm talking about, like a Bon Jovi cut from the late 80s-early 90s). I have admired his work so I decided it was time to reach out for a haircut. Derek is the first stylist to actually take the time to explain to me why I have not been getting the haircut I want. He masterfully tailored my current cut to only adjust the areas that needed attention so that it would grow into the shape and length I have been trying to get to. Definitely don't come here if you are ethnic because my stylist did not know where to start. I did not feel like my shampoo was all that great, the girl was very nice but needed to be instructed as to what to do with my hair since I have a lot of it. The girl who cut my hair cut more than I wanted her to. After the blow dry I had to go home and curl it because not even that was done. Not coming back again. read more
