This place DESERVES ZERO STARS!!!!! My friend rented a duplex through this agency and had me help document and clean everything, before and after he moved in, and thank goodness we did, or he would've really got nailed with charges. When he moved there was three, yes three satellite dishes on his roof and when he moved out, they tried to charge him to get them removed....seriously?! Another instance was the carpet. When he moved in, the carpet looked nasty, so I used my shampooer to try and clean it. Wasted effort on my part. After several days and many sweat-filled hours later it didn't look any cleaner and I was still picking-up dirt like crazy. He called D&M complaining that the carpets were never cleaned after the previous tenant. They stated that they "had the receipt" and that they could send a copy to him. It never happened. He called back to remind them to send it and now they claim that "it got lost"....I call B.S...doubt they had one to begin with. The company who my friend hired to clean the carpet after he left remarked that it was "heavily soiled" and that there was no way that it was cleaned prior to him moving in. Well NO KIDDING!!! D&M's response to this....."we will pay $50 towards the cleaning." Unacceptable in my opinion. From what I can tell, they try to keep as much of the persons deposit, pocket it and do no repairs to the units what-so-ever. I don't give out one star reviews often, but D&M Management definitely deserves to be in this category. Judging my the other reviews, it looks like my friend wasn't the only one getting screwed by this company. AVOID this management company like the plague. This company is beyond terrible. I have rented from them for over 6 years and we are currently in the process of buying a house and the closing date got extended a couple weeks. I asked them to extend an extra month into June and pay for the whole month plus and extra fee even though we were only going to be there for a week of it and the DENIED us. I have been a loyal renter for 6 yrs have never had a complaint and have never once been late on rent. They never even cleaned the carpets before we moved in or even vacuumed them. Nothing was cleaned we are leaving the place way better than we found it. If I don't get my deposit back they will be seeing me again that is for sure!!!! I read the reviews and warnings about this company and did business with them anyway because I needed a rental house. In hindsight I would have stayed at a hotel until something was available with another company or private landlord. I believe every horror story about this company. This company is ridiculous, and should be avoided by all involved in property rental both renters and property owners. I can't believe these people. I hope others can learn from my mistake of ignoring the warnings all over the internet about this company. If you are a renter they will do anything to get more money out of you. Please don't rent from these people. They will do anything they can to keep your deposit! We used the carpet cleaning company they suggested during our stay there, and the COMPANY themselves left the carpets smelling AWFUL. So WE got dinged! They claimed we had a pet (we didn't even keep houseplants, I had been given flowers twice, but seriously) when we had nothing of the sort. This is THE WORST rental company I have ever rented from. I've had two years of experience with them, plus know many people who have rented through them, and I have nothing but negative things to say. They are rude, and don't treat the tenants right. They either don't return your calls, or wait until it's convenient for them. When something needs to be fixed, they either don't fix it correctly and it breaks again, or they take their time and fix it whenever they feel like it which could take months. The town house/condo I lived in was incredibly dirty when I moved in, but they expected us to leave it spotless when we moved out or they would deduct from our deposit. I could go on and on. I am another person whom is VERY dissatisfied with the way D&M Management runs their business. It is un-ethical and they are very de-moralizing towards their tenants. As a tenant you have the right and responsibility to inform the actual owner of the property that their property management company is not doing a sufficient job. Don't bother asking D&M Management for their contact information because they will not give it to you. They do not want you to contact the owners directly. However this information is available to the public via Kootenai County Assessors Office website. I am passing this information on because I found out the owners are either unsatisfied with D&M Management as well or do not have any strong ties with them. Remember that they do own the property and they are allowing you to rent it, so be courteous. After informing the owner, I found that they were very willing to work with me and also willing to change property management companies. A suggesting when dealing with D&M management, make sure EVERYTHING is in writing or they WILL try to screw you over. Hopefully if the tenants can stand up to D&M Management they either will change their business ethics or be put out of business. read more

Worst company ive ever encountered. Can not believe they are still in business. Actually I can... They rob you of you're whole security deposit. Why? Because they feel like they need to charge $450 for not dusting baseboards and light switches. 22.5 hours of cleanup @$18.50 and hour?! For what??? A spotless house!? Can not believe these thief's... They also charge you for normal wear and tear... Examples include... Painting of handrails on the stairs, air filters, drip pans, cleaning of exhaust fans and ceiling return. Also charged me for tac marks on one of the bedroom walls when it clearly says in the lease agreement that I am NOT authorized to putty/ paint or patch walls. Within the first week we where in the house the deadbolt on the front door stripped (of course with my luck). With 12 inches of snow outside and it being 20 degrees I called the emergency hotline for them to drill the lock out. I was told it may take them several hours to get to my house because it was the middle of the night. Whats the point of having a 24hr hotline if no one wants to respond?? I was also told it would be a $60 charge for them to come out.... For what?! Terrible company is all I have to say. read more

I will NEVER again rent a property that is handled by D & M Management. This company is complacent, slow to respond, and only do the bare minimum to the rental property in order to get by. They failed to have the property painted prior to the new renter moving in, cleaning was not done, and they don't seem to have a sense of urgency about anything. They are slooooow at returning phone calls. I have nothing nice to say about this company. The lease agreement is lengthy, they expect you to move into a home that is a train wreck, stinks and filthy, with many things wrong with the property, but per their own paperwork want it left immaculate and in perfect condition, down to leaving no crumbs. They have blamed all of their actions on the property owner and have taken no responsibility for anything. I recently posted a message about a horrible experience I had with a property management firm in northern Idaho. In my search for a replacement, this is one firm that I am considering. So far they have been forthcoming, responsive, and provided a list of references to me (most places won't even respond to that request, let alone provide an actual list of contacts). Of those references who have responded to my inquiry, the results are extremeley positive. I still haven't made any decisions and have not contracted with this firm, but I am posting this in case it helps anybody else seeking an ethical and reliable property management firm in this area. read more

I never actually rented from them because they were just crap from the get go. I was living in Texas about to finally leave the military & move with my husband back to his home town, while I was 8 months pregnant. Anyway getting ahold of them is damn near impossible I called & called & called, left message after message. One day I called them every hour one the hour and didn't get a hold of ANYONE & they were supposed to be open... Anyway I finally got ahold of someone & they sent me paperwork I needed to fill out & send back to them. Well they were very vague on how to fill it out, so I did it to the best of my abilities & didn't fill out the address & a few other things because I never received that information. Well, days went by & they were supposed to call me when they received my paperwork but never did. I called & called finally when I got a hold of someone they said my paperwork couldn't be accepted because I didn't fill a few things out & I have to do it all over again. Fast forwarding a week after finally accepting my paperwork they said it took up to 3 days to go through everything & look up my rental history, well 3 days go by I hear nothing from them so I call & call & call & finally they answered and said they hadn't even started on it yet! At that point I started looking else where & went with someone else. But D&M called me almost 2 WEEKS later & said I was approved but the house I had wanted was taken but they had one "just like it" & as you can imagine at that point I was just like F off...
