We have done several remodels in the past so we have some experience with the process and in choosing contractors to work on our home. We chose Chattanooga Exteriors for the knowledge, experience, quality and customer service that they provide. Zach Wilmore, Jamie Breneman and Jonathan Bailey are some of the most knowledgeable and experienced people I've ever met in the industry. They are all truly gifted not only on the construction side, but also on the design side. Make no mistake, they will do things however you want (as long as it is safe and proper), but they will also give you great suggestions to make things even more beautiful, low maintenance, more energy efficient and more durable. They were able to guide us to make the most out of the vision that we already had. Honestly our house turned out better than we had hoped thanks in large part to their suggestions. I call Zach, Jamie and Jonathan "home construction savants" because no matter what situation or question I threw at them, they always had several great suggestions for a solution. They never told us that we couldn't do something unless it wasn't safe or going to cause problems. In our experience, we've usually found a) contractors that would do exactly what they were told--which sounds good until you realize that things could have been done much better since I/you don't have the knowledge and experience to know what will work well and what won't or b) contractors that only want to do what they want to do because it's easier, cheaper, or the only thing they know how to do. Chattanooga Exteriors is the perfect blend of knowledge and guidance to take your vision and execute it to the fullest. Obviously the quality of the materials and the construction are equally important as the design. This again is where Chattanooga Exteriors shines. They have chosen only quality products to work with and they have a thorough knowledge of the products, their installation and how to use them best in each application. We replaced old brittle vinyl siding with Hardie panel and old drafty wooden double hung windows with beautiful Renewal by Andersen casement windows. Our house should be virtually maintenance free for our lifetime. Our home is special to us and we want the people working on it to take pride in their work. I can honestly say that throughout this whole experience, I always felt that Chattanooga Exteriors treated my house as they would their own. I have no concerns that anything was not done to the highest standard. I work from home so I was here every day with every crew and watched the work being completed. When we ran into issues as every house has (in our case a lot of rot around windows and doors), Chattanooga Exteriors was great about stopping the work, showing me what needed to be done to install my windows and doors correctly to avoid future problems, and getting that work done before proceeding. They will not cover up problems or potential problems and that gives me so much confidence in both their work and my home. Our rot repair delayed/slowed Chattanooga Exteriors schedule significantly, but they never tried to rush our project because of that. And if you've ever done a remodel (or well, anything in life), you know that mistakes will be made. When that happened, I rarely had time to point anything out because Zach Wilmore had already noticed it and scheduled for it to be remedied. Not too many contractors schedule an 'almost final' walkthrough to pick apart their work, schedule all the necessary remedies and then schedule another final walkthrough to make sure it's perfect. After some days had passed, I had to call them back to ask about the bid. He stated that he would call me back, but never did. I called again, and he requested we meet on a Saturday (required me to drive from out of town) to make sure we go over everything. We scheduled a meeting time, and I drove in the night before to meet him. The meeting time was at 10:00 AM. This time had passed, and after several calls from me, he texted me an hour later saying that he was not going to be able to meet me but would meet the next day. I replied back with a text explaining how I no longer want to use their company due to the lack of professionalism and courtesy shown. I did thank him for showing me this now rather than later. People really need to call out companies like this to help others from making mistakes from so-called "Professionals".

On the scheduled day, the crew was running a little later than planned, but before I even had time to wonder where they were, Dan gave me a courtesy call to let me know they were on their way and apologized for the delay. YEAH RIGHT. the installers had an older flatbed truck with just a piece of warped wood for a tailgate and they dropped nails from the tear off all over our driveway (and i am certain all up the road as well where ever they went). I told them i was concerned about that as we have ouside dogs that if they get on in their paw, not to cheap of a ver bill. they picked up quite a few but we still found some for weeks after they left. we called them about roofing nails in our gutteres , on our deck, on the sidewalk and in the grass around our house. they came out 3 times and rolled the yard with a magnetic roller and assured us each time they had gotten them all. 5 year later we are still finding roofing nails in the yard and on our back deck. i will never use them again or reccomend them to anyone else.
