The dentist I saw wanted me to take care of things that had nothing to do with my chief complaint. Being new to Buffalo I was really disappointed with this office.. I even called after I left the office that day to see if a script was sent out and if I did have an infection because the treatment plan just didn't make sense to myself or my partner. No script sent out, no notation of infection. I went and got a second opinion elsewhere after 2 more days of pain and I did indeed have an infection that I needed to clear up before any other dental procedure be done. Long story short, do not go here if it is not a routine exam. The assistants and front desk staff are AMAZING though, really sweet from intake to xray.

Yeah, they could update their office a bit - but if it works, it works. My issue is that, upon returning, I've had a newer dentist that doesn't have bedside manner. Very gruff, short and to the point, and not really explanatory. I can be alright with that if you're competent and good at your job. But, in the times I've been, it seems like he goes out of his way to activate my gag reflex. Yes, I have one and I warn people about it - but if you're in my mouth and then just start wriggling around, of course I'm going to gag. What was the reason for you to start doing that? And, if there is a reason, let me know - part of a gag reflex is a control thing. Also, if I've just gagged, don't ask if you can try again 10 seconds later - there's a process to gain composure and it takes time. I've worked with a bunch of dentists. The best ones operate on a consent model - "I'm going to do this now, okay?" is a very clear and powerful question. It makes the process easier and it is communicative. The hygienists here are usually pretty good. Friendly and probably trying to make up for the fact that they have someone who doesn't relate to patients well. Cleanings have been generally pretty good for me in the past few years. Quick, easy, and I'm out. I miss Dr. Burgler! Lastly, I sent in a payment a month ago yet got a reminder bill for the same payment. I'm pretty sure it's their office not processing the payment quick enough - not me having never sent a payment. He had a fantastic bedside manner that put people at ease, was very gentle, and I liked that he never once tried to upsell me on procedures or treatments I didn't need. So, I was sad when I heard he was going to sell the practice, because I figured I'd never find another dentist who I liked. But then Dr. Korn came into the picture! I find her style to be very similar to Dr. Weinman. (Which makes sense, because if I am not mistaken, I believe he was her mentor?) Dr. Korn is fantastic. She takes time to answer questions, she has a gentle touch, and I trust her with pointy/loud tools in my mouth. She's done a fair bit of work on my teeth, including repairing a chip in between my two front teeth. I can hardly remember precisely where the chip was now, because it looks so natural and has held up to my (probably overly rough) flossing. There's great staff in this office, from the front desk to the hygienists. Cheryl, one of the hygienists, is wonderful. Great bedside manner, and she's also gentle. Plus, she is compassionate and nonjudgemental, which is important if you have any shame about the state of your teeth. Also, my husband has Lauren as his hygienist, and he absolutely loves the way she cleans his teeth. Bonus about this office: It is spotlessly clean and beautiful inside. Looks modern and upscale (but not pretentious), so that can help put you at ease. (You can know you're not going to be uncomfortable in some dingy old office with questionable stains on the carpet, dental chairs with weird odors, mouse droppings in the corner, and out-of-date dental equipment. I've been to a couple like that! LOL.)

First appointment was just an initial check-up and cleaning. The staff are all very friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed. I was a bit nervous about my next appointment though, where the doc would get rid of that decay and fill it over. Never had a cavity in my life, now I'm 43 and it's all coming apart!! I went in for the fillings and wow, let me tell you - #1, I didn't even feel pain from the lidocaine injections given to numb you all up for the actual procedure. Just a bit of pressure. #2, I felt absolutely nothing during the actual removal work. And no, half my face wasn't out of commission nor did I drool or speak very incoherently lol. I do not have insurance, so I was pleasantly surprised by their prices. 10/10 will return as long as I live in this area!! NOT RELATED TO THE PLACE OF BUSINESS, JUST AN OBSERVATION FOR PEOPLE WITH NERVOUS HABITS---- However, I will warn any people with nervous habits that involve chewing or biting on your lips: the total numbness is going to cause you blisters the next day. I noticed myself doing it soon after the appointment and thought "OKAY you're going to have to stop doing that..." but alas, by the next day I had a weird looking sore on my lip where I bite it, pretty subconsciously, until now. Getting anything achieved over the phone is near impossible. For context, I'm in my early 20s and…read moremy mom wanted me to go here to be seen for my endometriosis. So I've been a patient here for a little over a year and a half now. It is almost impossible for me to request a refill (for my endometriosis prescription)over the phone. Nobody knows what they're doing. I call their number and the receptionists sound like they don't know what to do with this information. Each time, they are very rude to me. I get told "I'm gonna give you to a nurse" and then I'm bounced around from different nurses not knowing what to do for my refill. This happens every month, since my doctor there puts a request for refill on each prescription, so I have to reach out to them. Sometimes, I'm told "oh I'll send this to a nurse and they'll call you back"... and days will pass by, nobody calls me and no refills were sent through. But today was the last straw, I saw my GP for an issue and she said I needed to see my gyno right away as it was growing to be a serious issue. So I called, and I explained my situation, asking if I could schedule the earliest appointment they had. I get rudely spoken to over the phone by the receptionist who claimed "well I see you have a check up in April, that's probably when they'll see you. But I'll send this to a nurse. They'll call you back". And then hung up on me. So I already know the chances of someone calling me back are slim to none. It is March 24th. My appointment is for April 28th. That is over a month away. Now, I understand if that is the soonest they could see me. But this isn't a routine check up. It's a concerning issue, and to be rudely spoken to for no reason, and told that someone will call me back and just hung up on, that is so unprofessional. I'm upset because I have an issue that is concerning me and I just would like to be treated with empathy. I'm upset because no matter who I seem to talk to, I get rudely spoken to, and talked down to. I'm upset due to the lack for unprofessionalism that seems to be everywhere in this doctors office. I have been going to this place for the last 4 years and honestly, this is the first time I have had any issue with them. The blame goes to the receptionist because the dentists and the hygienists are actually very nice and considerate. The receptionist on the other hand, has no regard for people's time, is rude and does not own a mistake when she makes one. I had my appointment at 3 pm today. I get a message around 1:50 pm that my hygienist is free early and asking if I could come in sooner. I check my work schedule, talk to my boss and decide to go early to accommodate THEIR request. I text back saying I can be there by 2:40 pm and they reply saying OK. I get there and am asked to be seated. It is now 3 pm and I am upset that I had to get permission to leave early just to sit in the waiting area. I ask the receptionist what the point of asking me to come early was and she goes in to inquire. Apparently, even though they knew I was coming early, they gave another patient to my hygienist right before I arrived. I am not attended to until 3:10 pm so essentially I came in early for no reason. The hygienist was polite and apologized even though it is not her fault to be assigned a patient while waiting for me. On the other hand, the receptionist is extremely rude to me, does not apologize once and when I point out that they shouldn't have texted me when they weren't ready for me, all she says is "that was not our intention". Well, clearly it was because you CHOSE to assign another patient to my hygienist while knowing that I am on my way coming in early at your request. I am away from my work desk a lot more than I needed to be because of her and she takes no accountability. If the management sees this, I hope they talk to the lady at the reception so she doesn't treat anyone this way in the future.
