He failed to use the BM paint I paid extra for (he would not provide a receipt for the paint after numerous requests), failed to remove hardware, failed to paint the closets, failed to paint my kitchen in semi gloss, failed to properly prep new construction... He did do a great job of getting paint on my new appliances and freshly refinished floors. Many years ago, I used G&J Painting (John Silva and Guillermo Silva are the owners) for the outside…read moreof my house, and I was satisfied with the result. When it came time to paint the inside of my house, since they did a satisfactory job on the outside, I decided to use them for the inside as well. BIG MISTAKE! Painting the outside of the house was much easier and faster than the inside as they sprayed the outside. When it came to the inside of the house, they rolled, and that takes a lot more skill and preparation, both of which they lacked. There were three main issues/problems with the project: 1. G&J Painting damaged the header box/headrail of one of my expensive Hunter Douglas window coverings, which cannot be replaced as the fabric color is no longer available. They dripped gray paint onto white fabric, and instead of gently removing it, they attempted to "scrub" it off, totally damaging the fabric on the header box/headrail, as shown in the picture provided. 2. They did not tape any areas whatsoever. For example, where one color was used for the wall (grey) and another for the ceiling (white), they should have used tape to separate the colors, but did not. Instead, they attempted to paint freehand, and as you can see, the grey wall paint ended up on the ceiling because there was no straight line created by the tape. Tape was not used and should have been. This was an issue in many locations within the house. 3. They were careless and messy and dripped paint on furniture covers, office furniture, and other places, as shown in the pictures. Based on the above three issues, I will never use G&J Painting again and recommend that you don't either!!

I tried to contact the Captians Painter for 6 months before they reluctantly responded to my concerns and sent a painter to do some touch ups. At this time, the painter and I found many other areas where poor paint coverage were discovered. Now less than 1 year later there are more areas where paint is peeling on the walls, soffit, and facia. I recommend you do not hire The Captains Painter. They did very poor preperation and painting work at my home. I am no hiring another contractor to repaint the areas that are peeling. This is very disappointing.
