I have been about three times to this Barber shop today being my 3rd time. The previous two visit my cuts were good no complaints, but this 3rd time the Barber Cody butchered my request. I asked for a MidFade on my Combover style and he went way to up butchering the one side going all way up making a super High Fade and one side the other side of the combover butchering backside of my head. Making the style HorribleI will NOT be returning and do not recommend it to no one. It's seems that the Barber doesn't know how to work on different styles or hair. I haven't had a bad experience in a long time. read more

D&D is walk-in only. My kind of style. I read some reviews and saw that Josh gets good reviews so, I asked for him. Right away I knew I was in the right place. Super friendly and ready to serve up a great haircut he asked me a few questions to clarify what I was looking for in my haircut. He even asked a few more specifics so that he got it right. My cut ended up great. I was real happy but then I noticed once I was in the car I needed a little tweak to my cut. I went back in and apologetically asked him to take a look at it. It wasn't that he did anything wrong he just didn't know exactly how I wanted my haircut. He happily fixed it and did a fabulous job. One of the best haircuts I've ever had. I certainly will be back I also met the owner and she was very nice. read more

I have missed the classic barber shop! Stop wasting time and money on chain stores or uptight barbers with fancy websites/social media content. Don't let the location or outside fool you this is a great barber shop! I met Camille today and what a great fade! She took her time though it didn't seem very long being very meticulous. I've tried other barbers, But I always end up making g time to see Debbie at D&D The waiting room can be packed, that's a good sign - and there's good reason D&D is hands down the best. (updated review: THIRD TIME, I tried again today too, nobody is here 30 minutes after they should be open, changing from 2 stars to 1 and never going back again after 10 years of going) Since Deb left it's unreliable unfortunately. You still get a good cut but they may or not be open during business hours. This is the second time I have sat in the parking lot with other customers when they should be open and nobody is there. Easy 20-30 minutes and still not open. Deb was rock solid and even opened early. Last time I was in there with two other regular types waiting and we all were rolling our eyes hearing the young lady barber (new owand a young man laughing and talking about partying and their friends, one-up type of stories and the cut was taking way too long. It's just a different place now is all. Hope they don't run this into the ground and kill the reputation and get their acts together. 3rd strike you are out kind of thing. Most customers won't do that but maybe retired folks or people without jobs, that don't have places to be or things to do, won't care. read more

Open early in the morning! After a long night at work and not in my home city; but, desperate for a haircut, I had to "YELP" a barber open early am. Fortunately I came across D & D Barbers and I was there by 0745. Already two people ahead of me this morning but it was still less the a 30 minute wait. Deb was friendly, knowledgeable & fixed me up quickly. There is plenty of parking in front and a ATM inside since they are a cash business. I will be more then happy to visit D & D Barbers next time I'm in need. read more

Came here a few weeks back and got my haircut with josh. Josh is a friendly guy and was very professional and cordial. He ended up charging me $20 and took his time to blend in my skinfade. I went by today to hopefully see him and got my haircut by the blonde lady. I didn't catch her name but she did not do a very good job and also seemed rushed. I saw josh was still cutting a customers hair and he was there before I got there. She did not pay attention to the details of a skin-fade and I was left with a very poor blend and She charged me $25. I am generally fair and consistent but I call it like I see it. How has this place missed reviewing for so long? I have been going to this place for years and Debra and Don are great!!!! I recently got a great haircut and shave from Jimmy so I am guessing that everyone is good here. In fact, I called right as Jimmy was finishing up with someone else on a Saturday afternoon and he told me he would hang around if I could get over there quickly. True to his word he was still open when I arrived 10 minutes later. THAT is great service; I was only in town through Sunday so it was nice to not have to miss out on my regular visit to this place. They have nice early hours for those of us that rise at the crack of dawn, they do straight-shaves and they are great company while they work. Seriously, whether you live in Reno or you are just visiting, do yourself a favour and get a cut and a shave from these guys. You will LOVE it! read more

My hair was cut......, no, slashed by the lady that works there. I was waiting for 15 min while she was chit chatting with someone getting haircut by another man, finally turns around and points at me like she was some tough chick. I proceeded to explain what I wanted and she argued with me every step of the way telling me I didn't tell her right. Then when she started shh was telling me a story about Fallon but she was whispering the whole story in my ear with her stinky breath. Very strange. When she was done she cut it way to short, extremely uneven but I wanted out asap so when she asked me what I thought I just said fine, payed her and I was gone. I just moved to Reno and have been looking for a new place to get my hair cut. I have VERY short hair (shorter than a pixie cut) and I have never had a barber tell me they wouldn't cut my hair. I prefer barbers because they're not afraid to cut it as short as I like. I called this place and they straight up told me "we don't do women's hair". The lady on the phone was extremely rude. It has been such a difficult time moving to Reno from Las Vegas and finding a barber who gives consistently great haircuts. I have now been going here almost every two weeks for a year and I've never left with anything besides an awesome haircut. This is the best haircut he's ever had and from now on he'll be going there for his haircut. I've been getting my hair cut here every 2- 3 weeks for 4 years and now. I now have to move on , as. I am a senior citizen and cannot afford the new prices they charge. they raised prices to 20 bucks., that's a 15% increase and just a bit too much, especially when most barbersare in the 14 dollar range. Really great charm to this place. I grew up with a mom who cut so I always went to salons - then I got real cheap and started going to franchise places - big mistake. I found this place a few years ago and almost always have had great cuts. In fact , there 2 times that I have absolutely crappy cuts but the 2 guys who did those have been removed by the Debra the owner (for which I'm grateful). When I asked her where those guys went she didn't talk bad about them, she just said the quality of the cuts wasn't up to her expectations for the shop and that they had moved on. I actually went to their new shop and got a not great cut so I will stay forever at D&D now. I really appreciate that honesty and show of character that Debra gave. They have some new gals in shop now and they are really good and have added to the ability to take clients to deal with the demand. I love his place - really great vibe with its simplicity, approach and atmosphere! read more

In town visiting family and needed my buzz cleaned up. Went here on the re commendation of a relative. I usually don't care too much about haircuts, I have a buzz after all. I was very happy with the skill my barber had. No 1 off hairs left hanging out and she even used a straight razor to clean up my neck. Overall, a solid haircut by nice people. So upset and frustrated with this "barber". I asked for a taper. A taper is literally the easiest haircut ever. Even the most wet behind the ears barber should know how to do it. It should be the first haircut you learn in barber school! If you don't, then fucking say something! Don't ruin someone's fucking hair. You got damn old man! Ughhhh!!!! So disappointed! Just got back from D&D and i have to say this is the worst haircut ive ever been give in my entire life. I would recommend going to great clips before this. I would recommend using scissors and just cutting your hair yourself before you go to this overpriced and bad quality barber. My barbers name i think was Don and he seemed like a nice guy, he said he had been cutting hair for 20+ years and he could give me a nice line up and fade. I dont even think he knew what a line up is and he trimmed way too much. His fade was horrible and if he cant handle my haircut idk what he could handle. Im not sure about the other 2 barbers but i doubt you could get any worse than him. Just save your money and go somewhere else. read more
