This is the ONLY "Mom and Pop" Bookbinding Business in South Florida (Miami area). Their quality of work is excellent. The only drawback is they are very small. Their patriarch passed away in 2025. The son and grandson have kept the family business going. While it is hard to get in touch with them over the phone because their limited staff, consistently calling-in will get you best results. Because of their massive workload, don't expect a quick turnaround on your book project, but you can rest assured that it will get accomplished looking great and brand new once the job is done. Took my Bible to get bonded. Was skeptical because it was in pretty bad shape but it turned out to be amazing.

We came last Sunday to obtain a quote and the store was closed until January 6. We arrived on January 7 just to see a sign on the door that they are not accepting book repairs. I knocked on the door a couple of times, pressed the ring camera, called a few times and no response. I'm really disappointed since i drove from Key Largo, Florida to them since they don't answer the line. read more

I had them bind a test book for a project I'm working on, and although they didn't pay attention to detail regarding the specifications in my quote request, I decided to use them anyway. Unfortunately, they stopped answering my calls, and aren't returning my voicemails. They no longer seem interested in my business. This was a different experience for me. I did not have a choice in binding my dissertation of where I wanted due to our PhD program has a universal look for all of our dissertations and D&B is the only company they will accept binding from. I was a Yelper anyway and checked out the reviews prior to calling the first time. As you read from many of the reviews, Anthony is the owner and most likely will be the individual you will be dealing with. I called Anthony when my deadline was approaching to inquire about the process. Anthony was very patient and had answers to all my questions. Due to the insane last minute deadlines, I needed to be 100% prepared. They do same day binding and I needed to know all the details so I could plan accordingly. When I was finally approved to have my baby bound, I woke up at 6:30am to call Anthony at 7am. I explained I desperately needed my baby to be bound the same day, as soon as possible. Anthony provided me with instructions-to email the PDF to him and he will confirm he received it, along with contacting me when it was ready. It was getting late so I started to drive down to Hialeah and Anthony called me, informing everything was ready to be picked up. So I tried to rush as soon as I could to get there because I had to hand it in to my program by 5pm that day and it was already 3:30pm lol. Anthony showed me his work and offered to take my picture with my newborn baby lol. I thought that was so nice and thoughtful considering I was working on two hours of sleep and running around all day, as well as my brain being over fried from all the tedious work. So I would have never thought to ask for him to take my picture. If you need anything binded, come here! It was a little pricey but I did not have a choice and it was done the same day. Attention FAU, FIU, UM and NOVA graduate students! DO NOT GET YOUR THESIS OR DISSERTATION BOUND HERE!!! I chose this business because I did not want to wait or to deal with shipping my thesis off to the university approved bookbinder. What a mistake. Bookbinder claimed that thesis would be ready in 10 days. The short story was it took 48 days to receive my thesis and 79 to resolve the issue. I was forced to call the bookbinders to inquire about what was going on 5 times. Each 5 times I called I was promised something and each 6 total times the owner FAILED to fulfill his commitments. On top of all that hassle, the quality of the binding was appalling. I am a grown man and I almost (literally) cried when I saw my life's work so awfully bound. That is the short story. These are the details... Also, I remember the exact dates because the day I dropped off my manuscript was the day I quit smoking. I had an app on my phone that let me know how many days it had been since I quit and thus, an easy way for me to see how many days it had been since I dropped of my thesis. Day 1: Dropped of the manuscript and paid $117.70 for two bound copies, $45 each plus tax and about $25 for return shipping. I was promised 10 days to bind then overnight shipping. 1st broken promise. Day 23: I had to call and inquire where the thesis was. I was told it was sitting on his table and that he had been sick. He apologized and sending it first thing in the morning. 2nd broken promise. Day 35: Still no thesis so I had to call again. Again, he said that the thesis was still on his table and that he was really busy and he apologized and said that it would be out first thing in the morning. 3rd broken promise. Day 46: Still no thesis, so again I had to call this guy for the third time. He apologized again and said that he would put it in the post the next morning. It was then that I took a stand and said that no, this was not acceptable or a way to run a business. I said that he had promised me 10 days and it was now day 46. An apology was - at this point - simply not good enough. The business owner then said that he would issue me a half-refund on Friday for my wait. 4th broken promise. Day 48: Received my thesis in the mail. Quality was awful. The look was very amateurish with the gold coloring used for the lettering splattered across the face of the thesis giving the cover a look as if my 4 year old niece had lightly dusted it with gold glitter. Day 64: Having still not received the refund, I was forced to call for the forth time. Again, he apologized and told me that he would refund the $37 on Friday. I then asked where he got that number from being that I paid $45 for each copy not even including the money I gave for shipping. So, he said he would do the $45. At this point, I was really angry but remained calm but firm. I ask if he was really going to do it since he had a proven track record of not fulfilling his promises and that I did not want to have to call him again in a week to listen to him apologize to me yet again for not doing the job he had promised to do. I said my only motivation for saying that was so I would not have to call him anymore and move on with my life. At this point he promised me a full refund for all the trouble that I had to go through. He would refund the money in two days. 5th and 6th broken promise. Day 79: I had a call from a few days earlier saying that he could not find my statement so he was mailing my refund to the address on file. I received the letter on day 79 with $45 IN CASH inside. First of all, what business sends cash in the mail? Second, I had to live with the LAST BROKEN PROMISE FROM THIS BUSINESS. Instead of a full refund he had only given me $45 or 38% of my original purchase price. At this point I could have called to try and get what was promised to me, but I decided that I would take the monetary hit so that I could freely write this review and hopefully no other student would have to deal with an issue like this. I think that amount of money is a small price to pay for a fair warning to a complete stranger. I have since looked up similar reviews and have found this was not the first complaint or experience like mine to have occurred.
