Luckily There are many better professional Cleaners in Seattle to choose from. Not even a teddy bear would I have cleaned by them again. Can't say enough good things about this place. My mom has been using them for decades and now I use them. I can't recall the name of the person on the phone but she is always super friendly and helpful. We always request Larry. He is so nice and does an amazing job. We had a nasty, orange, hotpot oil stain in our area rug, not to mention multiple pet accidents in the past. We took our rug to D.A. Burns in Bellevue and the building was easily accessible with plenty of parking. We were given a quote with the pickup/dropoff discount and stipulations clearly laid out. The price seemed very reasonable though this was our first time getting a rug cleaned. After a week or so we got a notification that the rug was ready for pickup. They helped us load the rug into the car - overall the drop off and pickup process were seamless. Once we unrolled our rug at home we were expecting some residue but it was like new. Julie performed the repair and provided an assessment of my rug and suggested that I trimmed the fringes to keep it from fraying and did a great job on the repair. No change to my review of DA Burns but an update just because I've gotten a lot of messages asking - the other rug cleaning company I used (with great experiences, and plenty of good experiences since) - is Fuzzy Wuzzy in Ballard. They've washed 3 wool and 1 flat woven cotton rug of mine, and their rug pickup & drop-off has been great as well. I asked once how they make sure colors don't bleed or run, sexually with vintage rugs, and they said they use only cool water until they've tested cleaning products for colorfastness on the rug. Would definitely recommend them, and do let them know if a particular rug you'd like them to clean is vintage or unknown fiber makeup or what have you. read more

We have been using DA Burns for decades. Always professional and fairly priced. Today we had our couch cleaned by Larry Taylor and he did an EXCELLENT job! But it didn't stop there, he was the "whole package" - professional, friendly, prompt. In fact he came earlier than he was originally scheduled - which we all know is a plus. He phoned me in the morning to let me know the "window" of when he would be at the house and told me if there were any problems I could phone him back at the number he called on. DA Burns was out to help fix whatever was done by Stanley Steamer the past visit. I am not sure what SS used but it totally messed up our hall carpet. Small tea spots became big dirt areas. Anyway, Larry from Ballard was very kind and very professional. He made a big dent in the issue, but was unable to remove whatever it was that the used on the carpet. He had great ideas on ways to replace the areas without replacing the whole carpet. He was very kind and forthcoming on the spots. I will definitely use them again. read more

I have used DA Burns in the past and been very pleased with the job they did, so much so, that I traveled from North Idaho to Seattle and brought my rug back to them. I received a phone call from them before returning to the store to pick up my rug saying there were a few spots that could not be removed without possibly damaging the rug. I understood this and picked up the rug a couple of days later before returning to Idaho. Once I got the rug home and unrolled it from the plastic, I was more than disappointed. I saw the spots and knew that those might not come out, but a very large stain that was there was still there and it looked as if my rug had not even been cleaned. It looked exactly like it did when I brought it in and $284 was a lot to swallow to have my rug still looking awful. This rug originally came from a restaurant and DA Burns cleaned it the first time and it was spotless- It went from a color I thought might be a green rug to a bright and beautiful yellow-it was that dirty and the job they did then was fantastic. The service people are really nice but I hate that my rug still looks like it hasn't been cleaned. Would not recommend. read more

I have a huge problem with vendors that are entirely opaque about their pricing upfront and expect customers to be okay with it when they're served huge invoices after the job is done. I ordered cleaning services for my apartment, received no indication about how much this cleaning would be, not even an estimated range. I had to take a couch ottoman into DA Burns to get cleaned after my cat decided to treat it as a litter box. The employee who met with me let me know what to expect and explained very carefully the difficulty with cat urine (that it also bleaches the fabric as well as discoloring it) so I felt prepared that the ottoman would not come back looking like new. I was pleasantly surprised when I picked it up a week later - it looks fantastic! I wish I had taken a before picture to show the difference but you can use your imagination. All employees I interacted with were knowledgeable and friendly, the service was finished on time, the pricing was very reasonable, and the results were great. Even though my antique Navajo rug had some fraying & ink bleed prior to taking it to be cleaned, they were able to make it happen for a reasonable price. My pet had made it mark a couple times. I have used this company to clean my hand-made Persian rugs several times. For one of them, I also asked them to either repair or bind the fringe end on one of them. They could do either, and I chose the binding option. Very satisfactory. Recently I asked them to clean and then prepare for shipping 6 of these hand-made Persian rugs. They have the knowledge to do this, as such rugs need to be rolled in a particular way. They did so, and even kept them at their facility until the shipper could arrive to pick them up. Alex arrived on time and was professional and careful. We had a lot of collectables all around and were worried, but he set our minds at ease and was very careful. NOTE: This review is for carpet cleaning on yachts; I have no experience with them doing home carpets, but if their yacht work is any indication, they're probably going to be pretty darn good there as well. My 20-year old boat had pretty grungy carpets, and D. A. Burns was recommended to me by other folks at my club, so I thought I'd give them a try... THE ROSES: What's not to like? The technician arrived on time, was professional and efficient, and did remarkable job on the carpets on my boat. I honestly thought the carpets were done, but now they look good enough to go another season or more before I seriously have to think about replacing them. THE THORNS: None. SO WHY ONLY FOUR STARS? This is the first time I've ever had anyone clean the carpets on my boat, so I have no real comparison. I do believe, though, while I think you could do worse, I'm not sure how one could do better. I reserve the right to upgrade DAB to five stars. THE VERDICT: If your yacht needs carpet and/or upholstery cleaning, DAB is a fine choice. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Highly recommend.
