This was, without question, the worst experience I have had with this establishment. Over the past…read morecouple of years, I have noticed increasing concerns regarding integrity, but this most recent visit has completely damaged the relationship. The most troubling issues were the complete lack of communication, accountability, and basic care or consideration for the customer. Your business exists because of the service you provide--services that can easily be completed by many other shops in the Dayton Metro area. This experience made it clear that this establishment prioritizes its bottom line over its customers. Following an oil change, I was informed of a concern that required additional service. I had to call multiple times just to receive follow-up on a recommendation that your service department identified. After finally reaching an agreement, I was told the repair would take approximately 8 hours. We agreed that my vehicle would be dropped off on Tuesday (with Thursday, January 1 being a holiday, which was completely understandable). I dropped my vehicle off early, on Monday evening, ahead of the agreed date. It was also clearly communicated--and confirmed--that if my vehicle was not completed on time, I would be provided transportation for my wife the following week. Tuesday passed. Wednesday passed. Friday passed. By Monday evening at 5:40 p.m., I had still received zero communication. I called the service department and was placed on hold for 18 minutes. When I finally spoke with someone, I was given a series of excuses: the holiday, the mechanic becoming ill, partial work being done over the weekend, and that the job was "about 60% complete." When I asked about the agreed-upon transportation, I was told, "I'm not sure what you want me to do--we're about to close." After reminding the representative that I was told transportation would be provided, I was met with frustration and comments about how long he had been working that day. This response was unacceptable--especially considering I had been awake since 3:30 a.m. for work myself. Eventually, I was provided a vehicle with obvious suspension issues. I did not complain and simply moved forward. The following Tuesday passed with no update at all, despite being told this was an 8-hour job that was already 60% complete over a week earlier. By Wednesday afternoon, still having received no communication, I came in person to inquire. Neither owner was present, and when we went to the service department, my vehicle conveniently was suddenly "ready for pickup." What I expressed then--and what remains my core concern--is this: As a customer, I am not allowed to pay when I feel like it, nor can I be even one cent short on payment. So how is it acceptable for the company to deliver service whenever it feels like it, with no communication, no accountability, and no regard for the customer's time? The answer seems clear: because you can--and because the message being sent is that if a customer doesn't like it, they don't have to return. Unfortunately, that message has been received loud and clear.

Part of our agreement to buy was the dealership sewing a small rip in the drivers seat back together. We were told they would provide a loaner car and a date was set for the repair to take place. The buying process felt easy. That was cool except the finance bro conveniently wrote that the cash we had brought for our down payment was $500 less than what was truly there. Not sure if it was human mistake or someone thinking they'd get a little bonus, but who knows. They also charged us for gap insurance when we put nearly 50% down on our vehicle without speaking to us, explaining the cost and coverage, or giving us the ability to decline coverage. When I later explained these concerns to Germain, I was mansplained to (they blamed it on a potential bank policy but never agreed to look into it) and nothing was done to address my concerns. I explicitly asked the manager to look into this and have never gotten a call back. The day I was supposed to get my seat repaired, the salesperson realized there were no loaner cars and set me up for the following week. The following week, I got my loaner car and my seat was set to be repaired the next day. However, I got a call the next day that the person who does seat repairs was out of town and somehow nobody knew when I dropped my car off so I had to drive back to return my loaner and get my car. I don't live close to the dealer so this was a lovely waste of time and money. They offered to let me keep the loaner- however my car is a 3 row SUV and the loaner was a Honda Ridgeline, so not comparable and not a car that met my needs. The following week, I returned AGAIN to get a loaner and leave my car for the seat repair. They provided me with a loaner that smelled awful and ultimately had a blunt under the front seat, which I found upon returning home. When I returned the loaner, I let them know about my concerns with cleanliness and the weed under the front seat. I was told they don't clean between users and just do a quick look through- so just be aware if you get a loaner to take a look before you leave. My kids rode in that car and I was pretty upset that Germain just explained it away and didn't see that this was potentially a safety concern for my kids and could've been a legal concern for me if I had been pulled over. When I walked over to pick up my car, the dealer had not sewn my seat as previously agreed upon, they literally slapped some leather duct tape on it and called it a day. It looks awful but I decided to let it go- I was ready to leave and be done. A couple months later, my car overheated in Cleveland and I had it towed to Germain since that's who the warranty is through even though I really didn't want to return. It has now been 2 weeks since they've received it and I've received minimal communication regarding the status. They explained they've been very busy, and I did appreciate the warning. However, they provided no timeline at the time and I still don't have one. After calling yesterday to request an update and being told I'd be called back with an update later in the day, I called again today to check in. Again I was told I'd be called back by my rep and never received a call. I called back and spoke to the secretary. She explained that my rep had left for the day. I told her I had been told I would receive a call and asked if I could speak with anyone else to see what's going on. She looked into my situation and told me my rep has not taken any notes, so nobody except my rep is able to provide any information. She literally told me she can't tell if my claim has been submitted to the warranty company, if the car has been worked on, NOTHING. Here I sit with no car, no idea when it'll be fixed, if it's been looked at, nothing. As I've proceeded through this adventure, I will note that everyone has been very nice and kind, which is why I've put up with the experience I've had as long as I have. However, every time I need to address an issue, while they are kind, EVERYONE has pointed the finger to someone else and my concerns have never been followed up on or fully addressed. I have had to CHASE down every concern that has been dealt with. EVERY problem has been because of someone else which has kept me from getting my problems effectively resolved. I have wasted so much time on the phone begging for help getting my concerns dealt with. TLDR: while all of the employees have been kind, there is a general lack of competence, communication, and follow through. You will waste time, effort and money trying to get issues resolved. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.

I had a poor experience trying to buy a new Jeep at Arena…read more The staff was indiffernt and at times seemed rude. I complete their on-line questions and set up and appointment. During the appointment I realized answering the on-line questions were a waste of time. They said they would have the new Jeep I wanted to buy ready to test drive when I arrived. Nothing could have been further from the truth. My advice is do not waste your time with internet sales with this company. After and hour they brought the Jeep I wanted to test drive to the front of the building. They explained all of features which was nice. I really liked the Jeep. When I tried to start the car for the test drive it would not start. "This was a brand new car". I told them I did not feel good about my experience and left. The bad part is I really wanted to buy the Jeep but it was not meant to be.

After keeping our…read morevehicle for two days and completing a diagnostic, we were called with the results and what was owed for the repairs. We okayed the repairs and once completed, we picked up the vehicle. While driving it we noticed that there was a smell of antifreeze, we decided to drive a few more days thinking that the antifreeze would burn off. It didn't, so we called Evans Chrysler Jeep Dodge and let them know what we discovered. They told us to drop the vehicle back off, which we did. After an inspection of the vehicle, that contacted us stated that there was an additional $3,000.00 in repairs that were needed. This is not only an unexpected cost but also a significant inconvenience due to the extra time. I want to know how was these other repairs not discovered during the initial service? I expected some form of discount or adjustment to compensate for this poor service. They did offer a discount of 10%, but I feel that is unacceptable and I feel that we should not have to pay for the diagnostic, since it clearly did not locate the issue. I will go back or refer anyone to Evans Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Dayton, Ohio. And not only is the customer service at the dealership bad, but the customer service is not any better. There is a language barrier, they are very rude and talk over you. After asking for a supervisor several times, they transferred me to a receptionist who then transferred to "a" dealership, not even the one that has my vehicle. I can't say how disappointed I am with the level of customer service I've received. This experience has been extremely frustrating and not what I expected.
