Of course common core isn't their fault, because it's this dumb state. But they REALLY dove into it and chose the worst principals to teach. 2) The majority of teachers were extremely fake and only responded to bribes, otherwise your kids never made it to their "favorites." The only 2 teachers who really ever cared were Mrs. Guevara and Mrs. Hise (who I might note were a part of the old administration). 3) The administration went out of their way to sweep any bullying by kids under the rug and had a policy that the kids should walk away from bullies instead of reporting. In most cases the administration basically protected the bullies and facilitated their continued terrible behavior. When the bullies kids attempted to report any bullies to the teachers, the teachers would get defensive and cause problems for parents out of spite. 4) Beware if you are divorced parents. Over the years, I've come across enough divorced parents to know that they picked a parent to side with and went out of their way to make the other parent's life miserable. The parent who brought bribes, and who volunteered, gave and received gifts from the staff continuously. Butt licking like that only exists among dogs. Just warning ya, stay away. Not worth the stress. (And sure enough, their 10 star score on greatschools.org is now a 9. Wonder how long it takes before they keep dropping further. Probably won't take too long under this idiotic fake administration. Now Yelp thinks that my review shouldn't count. And why? I was a parent of kids (not 1, but 2) who went to that horrible excuse for a school.

My daughter graduated from lomsaa 2021 after a crazy year she never lost focus, we can honestly say that she has enjoyed her last 3 years of school. At graduation we witnessed her crying as she got her diploma and thanked all teachers. She has cried twice more and keeps saying "I will miss Lomsaa!" Some teachers are genuinely great and actually care about teaching, but others mostly seem to respond to problems by yelling at students. My ELA experience in particular has been extremely frustrating because I often feel pressured into doing things I don't want to do rather than actually being helped or understood. PE also hasn't been a great experience. That being said, shoutout to Ms. Gallardo and Ms. Bitner because they are some of the few teachers/staff members who have made the school a little better. The student environment is another major problem. It can be extremely difficult to make friends here if you're not part of the popular crowd. Some students are genuinely kind and welcoming, but there are also plenty of people who judge others based on appearance or whether they fit in with a certain group. I've also witnessed behavior that is racist and homophobic, which makes the environment uncomfortable for a lot of students. There are also way too many unnecessary arguments and fights. Some students seem to enjoy bothering other people just to get a reaction out of them. There is a particular group of boys who will repeatedly tell people things like "my friend likes you" and continue bothering them even when it's clearly unwanted. It's childish and gets annoying. The school itself could use some serious maintenance. Finding cockroaches underneath trash cans is definitely something we shouldn't deal with. It's not all bad, though. MV actually has some good clubs and programs, and there are definitely students here who are kind, friendly, and genuinely nice to be around. If the school focused more on creating a respectful environment, improving how teachers handle students, and addressing problems between students instead of just yelling at everyone, it could be a much better place. (Gabby has issues and thinks that jumping someone is alwaysthe answer, and the whole popular crowd are wayy to dramatic; Zoey is a hypocrite; Kole needs to figure out how to keep a relationship. Henry thinks he's cool when he absolutely is NOT; Sophia has problems, and Eli called someone a bitch and beautiful? oh she's a fucking asshole.)

Plenty of healthy options. We have a youth who is lactose intolerant and with a doctors note they were able to accommodate her dietary needs. Drop off and pick up times are a total zoo, so make sure you have patience.
