I have a photo appointment for my princess 1st birthday, and throughout the photoshoot i was being rushed . You guys over charge plus you still charge for every outfit change . And yet rush me cause you have other clients to attended . NOT COOL, and to make things worst the pictures didnt come out the way i wanted it too . Before the mexicans taking over it was these two Chinese couple and they knew what they were doing. They also didnt rush you. We went on a Sunday morning to get 3 passport photos. We were greeted by the friendly photographer who told us to come right in. His amusing banter made us more relaxed. He took several digital pictures until he saw one the would be great for a passport photox. He also showed us the final shot he chose. Our photos (4) were ready in less than 15 minutes. They were more affordable than another photography studio in the area. I strongly recommend Cypress Photo. They are open everyday. Note: The L train, the M train and the Ridgewood bus transit hub are about 4 blocks away. The Q55 bus stops in front of the location. Metered parking may be limited. read more

So me and my kids went here to take family photos yesterday (12/31/23). Let me just say my cousin had paid for a package in advance for us, it was a Christmas gift. The photographer was great! Good customer service and great energy. The backgrounds that they had were ok... definitely needs a little updating. But that is not why I have them 4 stars. I gave them 4 stars because you have to wait a week for you photos, on top of that I would have to pay $40 on top of what my cousin paid for the package to get the digital images. That's ridiculous. We have been coming here since my daughter's church dedication to take her pictures. The photographer/owner of the place (sorry I forget your name!) is very friendly and super interactive! He always get the right shots that we want. Everyone who works here is always so friendly and knowledgeable about the packages on offer they are always able to give us helpful suggestions. If you don't already have the right clothes for your photos they do some great outfits in store for all ages and occasions. Thoroughly recommend this place for any special photos you need to take! So far we have used this place for our daughters first birthday snaps and our last Christmas card photos too! read more

Ok, went their last weekend. I guess with all the money Pao and his crew have been making, they decided to add more to the store. More isn't better in this case. The store and studio are still the same size, they just added more stuff in front- dresses to choose, figurines, frames.. you name it! I mean it's cool when you have space, like they in their old shop (next to San Remo's which is now a hardware supply store I think), but now everything seems a bit too crowded. And Pao seemed in a bit of a rush to get us out... I never stayed for more than an hour unless need be, but I'm sure we were in the studio 15 minutes MAX. I liked when he spent more time, making the photo-taking process personal. It's not like he isn't as good as he's always been. I'd still go come here before I'd even THINK of going anywhere else! read more

After spending $15 on a crappy set (2) of passport pics by a nearby shop, I walked in to Cypress Photo, defeated, wondering, "What the heck...!" Boy, was I pleasantly surprised AND satisfied: not only was it cheaper ($8) than the other place I'd gone to, I got 4 copies, it was a great, well-lit photo with perfect color saturation and focus which looked great on my new passport. The studio in the back is nice and the owner was funny, set me at ease, very nice and professional. Dunno about kids' pics or kids' wear--if you need a passport pic, THIS is the place! read more

"El Chinito" We brought our Grand daughter to take her First baby photo.The photographer worked really well with children, he made her laugh, so patient, and made us all feel welcome. As for the photo's they were extremely flexible with the package plans, he gave us time to look at the ones we wanted, the add-ons was a plus, El Chinito was able to collaborate a beautiful collage with a nice background. Best photography studio in the neighborhood. Reasonable photo packages. You can make an appointment or walk-in. They are very accommodating in that way. "Crazy Chino" (he actually calls himself that LMAO) is GREAT with children. My two year old niece who we lovingly call "the meanest baby around" when it comes to taking pictures, eventually was smiling for "Crazy Chino Man" LMAO. read more

I've been going to this photo studio ever since my daughter Emma was born. The photographer always gets my daughter to feel comfortable and always has a great attitude! All of her pictures come out great and his prices are reasonable compared to other photo studios. We recently just went to do our holiday greeting cards. Went to get passport photos done & not only do they look like model shots but they did a couple of pics of us together that we ended up purchasing. The photographer was a tad "quirky". I guess because we are black, he felt the need to quote rap songs but he made it fun & it went by quickly. read more

I initially called to schedule an appointment to take First Communion photos for my son and a young lady answered and told me they did not schedule appointments over the phone and I needed to come in person. I came in on Easter Sunday because I was told they'd be open. I was expecting it to be busy which is understandable. I arrived at 1pm and was told to come back at 2:30pm. The woman took down my son's name and my phone number. I live miles away and they have no waiting area so I walked around and sat outside with my son on a bench outside. We went back at 2:15 only to be told they had overbooked and they could try to squeeze me in between a the 2:30 and 3pm appointments. So I waited some more. No one arrived until 2:55! I was told the 3pm appointment was there and I couldn't be attended. Why didn't I get a phone call to be told they were overbooked when they realized it? My time wouldn't have been wasted waiting for nothing. I was so angry and just stormed out! So unprofessional and disappointing! I understand you get busy but you need to value people's time and accommodate them if you are at fault! I was going to refer family and friends that I will be telling to go elsewhere. read more

I'm kinda nervous when I need to get 2x2 photos, especially when it comes to passport photo, I used to call it "photo stress alert". For the entire years of my life I never had a nice 2x2 photo (awkward look, blank stared at the camera, more likely like a mugshot) Good thing after all the research, I found this CYPRESS STUDIO. So, for those of you looking for a nice passport photo I highly recommend "Pao" he is funny and friendly which I believed a plus point to wear off the awkward look in camera. He was so patient taking my photos, he made sure that I look great ( like fixing my hair, I know I have a lot of tiny bangs). He took a lot of picture until he gets the best shot. He is detailed and passionate on his work, he took effort and time although it's only 2x2 picture, if for some other photographers they don't care what u looked like and u end up paying a crappy picture. A friend of mine suggested that I visit here since they have reasonable prices and their picture quality is good. I read a review or two before going there last night and many said that they are great with kids, which proved to be 100% true! Pao was very funny (aka Jackie Chan as he affectionately calls himself lolol) and my son who hates strangers warmed up to him right away! He sang to him, tickled him, even brought out a teddy bear at one point. The pictures came out phenomenal as well! The only thing I didn't like is that the next day my mom went to pick up the pictures and the price he originally gave me was higher.. he was in the back taking pictures while someone else was ringing it up which I believe contributed to it but still, that took away a star. Still planning on visiting here in the future though because I felt valued as a customer, not rushed, and he made everyone comfortable with great results! Totally don't regret coming here all the way from a different borough. It's also best to get there by 7pm or a little after because many businesses are closed and parking is waaay easier to find :) Unrelated to this though, there's a great frozen yogurt spot up the block from here if you want to go there as a treat after taking pictures lol. read more
