Thank you to Dr. Mahoney and Sophia for their care for our cat and genuinely awesome energy! We have been bringing our pets to Upper Arlington Vet Hospital since their old building in North Star Ave - probably 15 years. He cared for her through her whole life. Today, we met with a new vet to us, Dr Mahoney, to establish our older cat. Every single thing went perfectly, from online appointment scheduling to checking out. I will always trust UAVH to care for our fur babies!

I wasn't able to take him in to a vet as he was unable to get into the car. I was lucky to find Dr. Richardson, of The Traveling Vet in Hilliard, which was close to me. He came and examined Bailey, weighed him, gave him a needed rabies shot and trimmed his nails. All this for a very low cost, I would say. The day came when Bailey fell ill, became dizzy and lost his balance, and then later lost the use of his hind legs. I had to face putting him down, my companion of 14 years. Dr. Richardson was able to come to my home and perform this, and it was very peaceful and humane in how it was done. He was also able to take my Bailey with him for cremation that was done in the city by a reputable company, and Bailey was placed in a beautiful wooden box with his name on a gold plate. I thank Dr. Richardson for his kind and gentle ways, and for his compassion for animals at a difficult time as this was.

Took my dog to a different vet in Gahanna after and they actually addressed his illness and did it at a reasonable price. Would rate 0 stars if I could. How do you work with a veterinarian and discuss the pets health when you aren't with them? How is it helpful to keep pets in their carriers sitting in a car for quite sometime waiting. This is utterly ridiculous and sad the down turn this practice has taken. They didn't even mention this was the new system upon scheduling the appointments which is even worse for planning. My poor babies were so upset by this ordeal. Time for a new vet.

During our initial contact while I was sobbing on the phone, they were extraordinarily patient in obtaining our information and setting up the appointment. Our assigned vet, Dr. Nellie, was amazingly gentle and took us step by step through the process. Being able to say good-bye to our beloved cat at home was so much easier on us than having to transport her in her cage to the vet's where she would be in a cold room and we would have to go back to an empty house. We were able to sit in her favorite chair and hold her while she looked out the window. While we waited for the medication to send her off, Dr. Nellie clip tufts of fur and took an impression of her pawprint for us to keep. When our sweet baby was gone, Dr. Nellie brought in a wicker basket covered in blankets and helped us transfer our sweet girl amid the blankets before taking her to be cremated. I can't say enough about this wonderful place. I know they also provide pet hospice services for animals who are terminally ill, but not at the end of life. I highly recommend them.

That being said, it's clearly stated on the application that it may take 10 days to hear from a volunteer and that's exactly how long it took for me. We met at a park, we then scheduled a home visit, and we then adopted the most AMAZING boy! All of that happened over the course of a few weeks, but that's not out of the ordinary at all. I was also told by the foster mom, right up front, there was another family interested in him and going through the process as well. So if they would have won out, that's just life, regardless of how far I was in the process.
