Dr See is who we visit for my 14 yr old athlete. The doctor is well informed, and patiently explains the condition/diagnosis (in a way that makes my teen understand and get involved.). Dr See's time and patience with patients is what leads to the long wait times. It frustrates us how long we have to wait to see her, but this is overlooked by the fact that she is a good doctor. I HIGHLY recommend that anyone visiting her office allow a window of 1.5 hours to see her. If all goes well, she'll get to you in 45 minutes; but be prepared to wait an hour before you see her. read more

My daughter has been seeing Dr See since 2016. She is an amazing Dr. we travel to see her and we have never minded the drive out to West Hills!! We recommend her to anyone. read more

Get a second opinion. I took my child to this Doctor based on all the good reviews and he was misdiagnosed and put on un-necessary medications. My gut told me something was not right. I went to two other GI specialist and they BOTH told me my son does not have the illness that Dr See had diagnosed him with and asked me to stop the meds immediately. They also mentioned that Dr See is known to over-diagnose. Hope this helps parents make a sound decision. read more

Dr See is very thorough. She takes her time to ensure that both you and your child understand their condition and what the best course of treatment is to ensure that the child is able to enjoy quality of life. She is worth the wait. read more

Dr. Cynthia See has changed my sons life! Nobody knew what was wrong with him. He had stomach aches all the time. He could not take part in normal activities. I even had to put him on home study because his vomiting and diarrhea was so bad! His quality of life had diminished. He was a walking stick. Everyone thought it was anorexia. One visit to Dr See and she knew exactly what to do. She is very thorough and dialed his medications; each and every time, to his symptoms. She makes everything so easy to understand and if I ever have a question she is just an email away. She truly cares for her patients. My son is almost 19 now and gets to experience a better quality of life "Thanks to Dr. See!" read more

Cynthia See ,MD - Gastroenterologist Near Me - West Hills, California

The best doctor ever! She is a pediatric gastro doctor. I have acid reflux disease. I just stopped going to her b/c I am older now. However, she is the nicest doctor ever. She takes the time to see you, she listens and tries to get to know you. She actually cares, unlike some doctors who you think are just trying to see as many people as they can. She gets super busy!!! I would wait up to 30-1 1/2 hr. I would suggest getting an early appointment. The best time. She answers her e-mails all the time. So whenever I have any questions she is there for me. The ladies at the office are very nice as well. Esp. Stephani, with red curly hair. SO nice! So I can't say anything negative except the long waits.... but it's b/c shes so popular :D read more

I am not here bash anyone, although, I would highly suggest you get a second opinion. If you have that gut feeling that something isn't right, as I did, most likely it's not. Your child's care and your mental health, as a concerned parent is at stake. read more

First time visit to this doctor and what a odd experience. She did not introduce herself for starters, was very abrasive, horrible bed side manner. She insisted on speaking over us and seemed to speak to us though we were total idiots. We attempted to ask questions and she continuously walked out of the room when we were mid sentence, at least this was better than her talking over us? She seemed to get very agitated when we asked continued questions and was extremely unhelpful...a total waste of a visit and by far the worse encounter with a doctor we have ever experienced, and to think she works with kids is even scarier! read more

Best pediatric gastroenterologist. I wouldn't take my child anywhere else. She takes the time to develop relationships with her patients and accurately diagnoses and treats them. Don't listen to the other reviews! She is busy and sought after for a reason and is worth the wait. I have been going to her for many years and trust her 100%. read more

Dr. See is an intelligent and compassionate doctor. She does overmedicate a little bit, but does it to try and make your symptoms go away. Make sure to always be clear on what you want to do because sometimes it might be misinterpreted. read more

I wish I could give less than one star. Do not take your child to Dr. See. Our three year old saw her for chronic bloating, stomach pain, diarrhea and lethargy. Dr See felt she had reflux (Gerd) and recommended an endoscopy asap. After the endoscopy she stated that she had severe reflux, ulcer, hiatal hernia and inflammation. She started her on Zantac twice a day. When the biopsy report came back she stated she would only give the results in person. Weeks passed as we waited for our appt to get the biopsy results. The day before, her office called to tell me that they forgot to submit the request for our followup appt with insurance so they needed to cancel and reschedule. They'd let me know. I was frustrated but asked that Dr. See call us to go over biopsy results. A day and a half later she called at 9pm at night and left a message stating my daughter doesn't have celiac disease. Great. But the biopsy tested for a lot more than that. It was a very strange message. When I called in the morning I was told again that I had to come in for a followup to get the full results. So I said I was coming in and getting a copy of our file. Five minutes later Dr. See called me back and side stepped all my direct questions regarding the biopsy results and told me to just come in for an appt that day. So I did and after waiting an hour without being seen, I got a copy of our file and left. FOUR days later Dr. See called me to tell me that the reason she didn't want to give me more info on the phone is because my daughter has abnormal cells in her stomach that are pre cancerous and she didn't want to freak me me out. She then admitted to INTENTIONALLY OMITTING biopsy results both in her precious voice mail to me and our previous phone conversation. Then she went on to say that she wouldn't discuss treatment with me over the phone. So I sought a second opinion. I met with the second opinion Doctor. Our daughter does not have GERD. She does not have an ulcer. She does not have hiatal hernia. She does not have inflammation. She does not have abnormal cells. The 2nd opinion dr stated that in her entire career she's never seen a 3 year old child have these abnormal pre cancerous cells, other than in patients that Dr. See scopes. In other words, Dr. See is likely taking the biopsy from a part of the stomach that is too close to the intestines. So the results are interpreted as "abnormal stomach cells" (intestinal Metaplasia) because they are not in fact stomach cells. Furthermore, she was shocked that Dr. See would perform an endoscopy on a 3 year old for suspected reflux, rather than just trying an antacid first to see if there is improvement. My child was put under general anesthesia for an invasive procedure for no reason other that Dr. See's greed and disregard for common practices. And we were then lied to about her diagnosis. At the end of the day, my child was diagnosed with an intestinal bacterial and is being treated with an over the counter pro-biotic. Do not under any circumstances choose this Dr. I wish that I had done more research first before going where my HMO sent me. I've learned my lesson that not all doctors are created equal - or even competent! read more

This place is horrible! The front office staff is rude and unprofessional. The wait time to see the doctor is ridiculous. Had an appointment at 2:15 it's now 3:41 and still waiting. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN! read more

She over medicates like crazy. She lied to our pediatrician to make it seem like the crazy amount of prescriptions were working. Everytime we took our daughter to an appointment somewhere referred to by her, they were always confused about her reasoning. Even one time arguing with dr see to get a full pelvic ct scan (dont know if that's right spelling). See said this is a confirmation scan to confirm what she already knows, and they were just trying to charge our insurance as much as possible. Turns out they were right because they found nothing, and now it looks like another scan is gonna have to happen. That's exactly what they said would happen. Pretty traumatic for a 4 year old. After every specialist we saw questioned if she was getting proper care, we finally got a second opinion from a different GI specialist at LA children's hospital. They were very confused by her diagnosis. They told us to take her off everything prescribed by dr see. They said it was unnecessary and seemed to be causing more side effects than anything else. Both endoscopys she performed were too vague to get anything from, and my daughter has to do another one of those as well. Theres more, but I would be typing all day. I can't warn you enough, stay away. I wish we would have. Her staff is always rude, and dr See will never call you back. We have seen so many doctors and never wait more than two weeks for a referral, unless it's from dr see. More than once we called to check on referrals to find out their were mistakes, things forgotten, and I can't confirm it, but I'm sure just plain forgotten about altogether. GO ANYWHRRE ELSE. YOUR CHILD DESERVES BETTER. read more

This is an excellent doctor. After receiving no help from my ped or allergy specialist, Dr. See was finally able to dose and treat my infant son for his silent reflux. I have met with her monthly for the last four months and have seen a dramatic improvement in my son's symptoms. Dr. See is committed to finding the right treatment for her patients. She takes the time to get to know you and to make sure you understand her diagnosis and recommendations. She is readily available by e-mail and usually responds in the evening of the day you contact her. This has saved me many times when there has been prescription confusion at my local pharmacy. Excellent doctor! The only reason I did not give her 5 stars is because of her office staff - they leave something to be desired. read more

Dr See is amazing. I knew my kids had Acid Reflux. Nobody would believe me. She did. She saved my son when he was a newborn from having a tube in his stomach. He had severe gerd and has needed high dose of prevacid and reglan and axid to control his symptoms. He has had 2 surgeries to repair his hiatal hernia causing his gerd to be worse. We went to tons of doctors to find her to be the best. She also has helped me and my daughter with the same issues. It seems to run in the family. read more

The only reason why i am giving 1 stars is because the Doctor is good atmeast from my first appointment. But may NOT be worth the long wait NOR the HORRIBLE staff. Be ready to wait hours. My appointment was at 11:30 am, it is 12:38 and still sitting in the waiting area. All the receptionist can say is, "i am sorry." It is not the first time this happens to me nor to all the patients who have lost it waiting. They all had the similar stories waiting over and hour to be seen. Over all i dont think Dr. See expert advice is worth the extremly long wait, i wont be coming back. I will be asking for another refferral to take my daughter some where else. read more

Excellent doctor! Incredibly personable and easy to understand. Very skillful and competent with her management. Love her. Definitely 5 stars!!! read more

I've never written a negative review but I feel compelled to warn parents after our family's terrible experience with Dr. See. I too wish I could give less than 1 star. Dr. See misdiagnosed my child, over-medicated her and then refused to sign our school medical authorization form allowing our child to have her much needed medication given at school. Because Dr. See never got around to signing the form (after a month of waiting) my child suffered at school and her problems got so bad we had to switch specialists and repeat unnecessary testing because Dr. See refused to return phone calls and emails to get our child's medical records. I'm pretty sure this is against the law. I cannot imagine a person so careless and cold when it comes to a child's medical needs and care. I hope any parents reading this take it seriously so your child does not have to go through what our child has. Dr. Cynthia See is negligent. Also, the office "staff" is unprofessional and hardly ever answers the phone. We waited over an hour for every Dr. visit once we finally had our appointments. read more

She was great about diagnosing the issues but now I'm no longer seeing her for my GI because all she does is prevent surgery and give me too much medication and says that the medicine will help my damaged GI surgery be fixed. I have been seen by a different GI specialist and when I said what she said he looked like he thought that was the most stupid thing he ever heard. He himself, did an endoscopy and confirmed I need to completely redo my surgery while doctor See has been avoiding it for a year which put me through misery and having to drop out of high school. She wasted two year of my life with pain in the ass games of "oh the meds will fix it". No I need the surgery. She needs to go back to medical school and realize PHYSICALLY DAMAGED THINGS CANNOT BE FIXED BY MEDICINE and I am quitting a couple of doctors saying this. She was great up until two years ago. I don't regret ripping her a new one earlier this year when she decided to put off the surgery. IM DONE I want to have a normal life, bye doctor see because you're just causing more problems and stress. I recommend USC OR UCLA and if you have HMO you have to be on top of doctor sees office staff and her because she forgets to do shit she said she would do and the office staff never ever remembers to put in referrals. My mom basically had to harass them with phone calls for five years. read more

Dr. See is AMAZING. She is so intelligent and really knows her stuff and how to treat her patients. She is really busy and that is for a reason, because she is really good at what she does. She takes the time to get to know each of her patients really well and their specific cases. She is also so helpful on email and responds to messages quickly, I don't know any other doctor is easily available like this. The kids also love her and she is so personable and takes the time to explain any questions you have. I trust her 100% with my kids and wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Dr. See saved my life. When I was 14 she insisted on performing an endoscopy and we discovered several ulcers and precancerous cells. It's difficult to set up appointments with her because she's helping so many people. Trust me, she's worth the wait. I am so grateful that our paths crossed... I don't want to think about what could have happened if it wasn't for her aggressive practices! She's been my GI for 6 years and after this year I have to move on from a pediatric doctor and although I am very sad about I trust that she'll guide me in the right direction. Thank you Dr See for saving my life, I am forever grateful! read more

Dr. See has been seeing my son for 12 years. She has significantly improved the quality of his life. I was just on this site yesterday and Dr. See had nothing but bad reviews. I go to put my review today and now there is one review which is good. kinda fishy! The more I do my research with this Doctor I notice very stranges things. But her is my experience with her. She was kind and had an answer to my every questions but later I came to find out that my answer to my daughters problems were just the same as every parent who had put a review. Same diagnosis and treatment. My daughters diagnosis was the same as the woman who gave Dr. See a great review. Everyone is made up differently and I feel like she forgets to really get to know her patients. I got a second opinion and my daughter turned out to only have 1out of the 3 that Dr. See said she had. I'm not saying she is a bad person but she isn't good at her job. I don't trust her. My daughter's future was more meds and surgeries with Dr. See but with another doctor my daughter only needed one medicine and no surgeries! Please be very careful to research the information she gives you. I hope this doesn't get deleted as well like the last reviews did. read more

I've always had wonderful experiences with Dr. See! Really attentive, sympathetic, and professional. You can tell she really cares about her patients. She's been treating me many years for IBD. I visited many other physicians with no luck but Dr. See finally figured out what was wrong with me. Since treatment began, my IBD has been in remission for the most part and my symptoms have been a lot better. I'm really thankful to have Dr. See! read more

Each and every one of us who have been to Dr See went to her because we had a problem that our Doctor couldn't fix for us. In other words we're the tough cases that others have failed. My daughter came to her with severe reflux, screaming and crying bloody murder and in so much pain and throwing up everything she was eating, it was horrible to watch. DrSee was amazing, I felt she really cared to get to about me and more importantly my daughter. She gave me some tips and advice and gave my daughter a very low risk, safe medication to try and possibly have to move up from if it doesn't work. Well, it's made it significantly better but still not 100% so DrSee recommended another medication that will almost definitely 100% cure it, but it does have some risks, which she told me about and I've decided to pass on that one at the time since what we're doing is working quite well. We're also doing a test to see just how bad her reflux is, which will help us make better informed decisions. I really like how she tells you your options, the pros and cons, then tells you what she would recommend but let's you make the decisions yourself then tailors a treatment plan around that and fully supports you in it. Not many doctors do that anymore. read more

Was told my daughter had esophageal cancer with no proper testing for cancer (only an endoscopy and ph test were done) and immediately she wanted my daughter to take a drug with serious side effects. I wanted a second opinion so went to Cedars where the doctors all knew of Dr. See's history and many of Dr. See's patients came after leaving Dr. See. The endoscopy and ph tests were redone, also a barium swallow was done. One simple medication and my daughter is now fine and off of the medication and completely healed. It's worth the drive to see doctors who know what they are doing. read more

She was very nice and seemed very concerned about me. She made the effort to fit in all the tests to see of I have Crohn's or colitis this week so I can start treatment asap. She even cared about my school life and wrote a letter to my high school telling them I will need to be homeschooled while I improve. Others had problems because she didn't conduct enough tests but I had several tests conducted by two different general doctors prior so she didn't need to do many more tests she just scheduled a spevific blood test, an endoscopy and colonoscopy, and and a CAT scan of my abdomen.. The office people were nice in my experience they tried to get our appointment as soon as they could because I was missing a lot of school (at risk of having to drop fail all my classes) and was getting slightly worse every day. We arrived an hour early and were attended almost instantly. I would recommend Dr. See. read more

This doctor put my daughter for 4 years on high doses of medicine in the morning and night. For 4 years my almost 8 year old took medicines that were to improve her symptoms from her "hiatal hernia".... This was her diagnosis. After all these years, and my daughter still finding pain in her gutt , I decided to go to Children's hospital for a 2nd opinion. I spoke with some other patients, and was shocked to find out that Dr. SEE tends to give many of her patients a hiatal hernia diagnosis. My new doctor at Childrens gave a series of tests, to find out all these years my daughter was lactose intolerant. I feel like a terrible mother that I was unaware my daughter could not have dairy products! Why didn't Dr. SEE RECOMMEND SUCH TESTS??? Maybe she just wants these kids to keep coming back every 3 months to get checked and keep refilling these meds. I am so thankful to children's hospital. I would never recommend Dr. See. "Beware". Get a 2nd opinion. 4 years of unnecessary meds for a child. I'm angry that my daughter suffered all these years, was on all these meds that depleted her nutrients and caused dark circles under her eyes. Would never go back to her again read more

Please get a second opinion!!!! I'm very disappointed to be writing this review as we have trusted this doctor for many years. The office staff is not very professional and hardly returns calls unless you stay on top of them. Emails are never ever returned. The wait was usually an hour to two hours to be seen. I used to look past the office shortcomings as I thought we were seeing a great doctor and the inconveniences were worth it. After years of many medications, many tests including an endoscopy, and still lots of stomach pain for my daughter, we were told she would need surgery for gastroparesis (slow emptying of the stomach). My gut told me to get a second opinion. We did, and we were told she is lactose intolerant, which after all these tests, she was never tested for. She is finally pain free and off a lot of the medications we were told to put her on. My heart is heavy for my daughter having to live with pain for so long. I feel like a horrible mom and I feel such guilt for not having a second opinion sooner. The GI community for children is very small and this doctor has a bad reputation among other doctors for a reason. Among many patients that I have spoken to as well as other GI doctors, she is known for giving the same diagnosis over and over to patients..... Severe acid reflux, hiatal hernia, precancerous cells, and ulcers. Trust your gut and if you feel something is off, it never hurts to get a second opinion. Your child's wellbeing may depend on it. Mine did. read more

We had a very horrible experience under Dr. See's care similar to the other horrifying reviews that you'll read about her. It is unthinkable that you would bring your child to receive health and healing and instead get fed lies, prescribed unnecessary medications, have invasive and expensive tests performed on your child by a very sick and twisted individual that should not be practicing medicine. She told us horrible lies of cancerous cells, severe anatomical digestive problems. I have two other second opinions that debut k Dr. See and one doctor I saw was very familiar with her practices and procedures as this has had many families in his office after Dr. See to get a second opinion. This doctor was able to tell me exactly what Dr. See tells all of her other patients and it was to a T! She has the same story for everyone and it's all horribly frightening. She is so sick and her office staff are completely suited for her, useless. I hope that you read this before you go to Dr. See and do not have the same awful experience that we had. read more
