I kept telling her I wanted my split ends gone (I curl my hair pretty often) and to cut as much as she needed to to clean me up as long as it was shoulder length. Found a gem of a student with great instructor support (when needed). Mentally, keep in mind that these are students. The quality has been top notch but most things take about twice as long due to learning needs. If you visit, keep this in mind with respect to the student. You can book at the front BUT...if you call, it sends to a remote cost center. They are also only open during the week...no weekends. My treatment today was outstanding and I cant praise my stylist and her teachers enough. The only thing I dont like is the creepy psycho killer looping music in with the wash basins. I was not even there a WEEK YEARS ago. I wanted to do the esthetics program. When I started our teacher was never in class she had to teach the other class! Some students were ghetto I had one scream at me WHY ARE YOU COLORING THIS BLUE! At the top of her lungs she always came into class reeking of weed and so loud and the instructor never said anything. They had us coloring and drawing places we wanted to visit and I colored a drink someone drew blue and got screamed at by the student and the instructor just sat there quiet didn't say anything. This student was disruptive and they never said anything to her. I got fustrated with the school and ended up quitting because our instructor was never there and always called out to teach another class. The upstairs where the classrooms were, were not even done. The floor looked like plywood and the ceiling was leaking. Not even there a week and the first couple of days they handed out the kits. Which was fine BUT they told us to OPEN our kits and go through the list . Some of us had missing stuff. Never touched the kit again after the INSTRUCTED us to OPEN the kits and mark of the list. When I let the school know I did not want to come back and tried to give them the kit back I dropped out in the time allowed! I tired to give the kit back and they REFUSED the kit and said it's because we opened it! Hello you told us to open it nothing was used or touched. They would not take it back and I am being harrassed by their bill collectors for over 3 thousand for some cheap makeup and eyelash kit with the facial stuff that AGAIN has never been used or TOUCHED and had missing items. Again explained why I did not want to return and all they said was we can not take back the kit because it was opened. Again NOTHING was used and you made the students open the kits. If you attend DO NOT OPEN the kit if you are not sure you want to be there. I wanted to be there but because of my experience and the instructor doing nothing I did not want to be in that environment. I'm not sure if the instructor was afraid of the student because she was always loud etc but you still should of addressed it, also never being in class and having us color and draw is not what people are paying you for. Not sure what the admission comment is about. I was enrolled into your school by someone named Brianna or Breyan I'm not exactly sure of the name but there was no waiting list and my experience there was not a good one.

Current student going through the program and may change rating based on ongoing experience…read more I started the program about 2-3 weeks ago, mainly because they recently began offering weekend classes, which worked well for me since I have a demanding full-time job. So far, unfortunately, my experience has not been great. I'm not sure if it's because the hybrid/online model is still new for them, but it really feels like they don't have the process fully organized yet. Most of the issues come down to lack of communication and unclear expectations for online students. Once I paid my deposit, I wasn't really guided through the next steps. I was briefly shown the portal we use for coursework (CIMA) and told to download WhatsApp because that's how we communicate with instructors. Beyond that, I pretty much had to figure things out on my own. I even had to personally ask questions in the group chat because I was confused, and it turned out several other students felt the same way. Eventually we found out there's an orientation every Monday, but nobody clearly explained that upfront. The virtual learning environment has also been frustrating. During online sessions, chats are muted and virtual students can't really ask questions because the instructors are focused on the in-person class. That honestly makes no sense to me considering online students are paying the same tuition as in-person students. It feels like the virtual students are an afterthought. Even submitting homework has been confusing. We use Dropbox, but I was basically just told to "download Dropbox" and had to dig through old chat messages to find the actual submission links and instructions. At this point, I honestly feel unclear every step of the way. I spend more time trying to figure out logistics, apps, links, and expectations than actually focusing on learning. The frustrating part is that these seem like very simple organizational issues that could easily be improved with clearer communication and better onboarding for online students. I'm still early in the program, so I hope things improve over time, and I'm open to updating my review if my experience changes.

After researching several esthetics schools in the Bay Area, Cosmotek stood out for its hybrid format, affordability, and supportive learning environment. I also appreciated the opportunity to work with clients in the spa rooms, which provided valuable hands-on experience and helped build confidence performing services. A special thank you to Devin, Huong, Binh, Emma, and Kosal, who were incredibly supportive throughout my time there. While these were the staff members I interacted with most, all of the instructors and staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in student success. The last four months were a blast. I learned so much, met great people, and felt well-prepared for my licensing exam. I would highly recommend Cosmotek to anyone looking for a flexible and affordable esthetics program.
