I could not recommend Andy at The Llandaff Clinic highly enough…read more I have seen him on a number of occasions and have felt immediately better (and looser!) every single time, having had a trapped nerve which caused shooting pains in my hand (which now don't happen) and lots of tension in my back. Recently I had lower back pain which turned out to be an inflamed disc - Andy diagnosed it quickly, treated me and gave me effective stretches to do, and I'm very pleased to say it is now fixed. Without treatment it could have been significantly worse so I am extremely thankful.

The Chiropractic Centre is situated at the very top of Caerphilly town, just a short walk away from…read morethe train station. As an active person and someone who has trained religiously for many years, I have picked up countless aches, pains and minor injuries along the way; all part of the wear and tear that comes with an active/sporting lifestyle. When I was offered a free consultation at the chiropractors, I grasped the opportunity with both hands. Even though I didn't expect there to be anything wrong with me, I thought it would be a good idea to find out for sure, at least for peace of mind. Prior to entering the surgery, I had assumed that I would no doubt be diagnosed with some form of long-worded ailment that required immediate attention and would then be roped into a follow up session at a hefty price. To my pleasant surprise, this was not the case. Instead I was given a brief interview, asked about my training techniques, sporting background and day to day living. I was then asked about what areas of the body had troubled me in the past and what had been the most recent area of irritation and then told to arrange a follow up session the next day which would also be free of charge. The following day, I returned to the surgery and was put through a number of standard physiological tests, where the chiropractor moved a limb a certain way and reviewed how my joints reacted, etc. Following the examination, much to my delight, I was told that I was in full working order, but I could benefit from incorporating certain exercises into my routines, and conversely removing others altogether. The advice I was given has actually helped considerably and I am and have been pain free for quite a while, which in past instances, has been a rarity. The chiropractor provided an efficient, friendly and most importantly professional service and I would recommend him to anyone with joint pain or bone problems. He knew exactly what he was talking about and gave me some good, useful advice that has been beneficial and he did so without stinging me out of a few extra quid. Highly recommended if you're in need of chiropractic services.

Andrew's sense of humour will see any patient through their pain. He's very good and analytical. He invented a whole new sort of strapping for an unusual ankle injury. This is usually what happens when we go - He has a chat about what the problems are. He examines the problem area. He gives you some treatment (see his website for more details) and finally sends you home with some exercises. It almost always works! He also has in a team of other phisios so the clinic is open all kinds of convenient times for people who have to go to work.

He himself works with local sports clubs and has worked with the Welsh Rugby Union for 14 years, even touring New Zealand with the national squad. The great thing about treatment at this physio clinic is the emphasis on SELF help. His clinic is really professional and friendly, offering a full range of physio treatments from massage and soft tissue mobilisation to acupuncture, ultrasound and TENS machine treatment for pain relief. As a patient, you're given rehabilitation exercises to do at home to help you recover, which can include stretches and strengthening exercises and often look at posture and core stability. This aims to put some of the control over the condition into your hands, so you can help yourself to get better. The only down side for me is the clinic's location in Whitchurch, but for others who live locally this will be a positive - and at least for those of us who don't there are two car parks very close by!

After failing to make an operation appointment due to having a meltdown on the eve, when the next date was set, I worked with Deane for an intensive 6 week course to help get myself under the anaesthetic. I found that by applying the new skills and techniques I was learning under hypnosis, I was able to remain calm as the operation day approached.
