So i thought what have i got to lose and it was the best decision I've made. My bad back was not the problem it was the associated pain in my Hip, leg and dead foot. So I found exercise a chore and being overweight didnt help. I booked a package of sessions, where after two I'd already noticed a huge difference. I've now completed my treatment with Gareth and I can only say that he is a weird miracle worker, his methods seemed a little strange at first but as he works he explains everything as he go's along and all makes great sense. I now have no pain at all in my hip, I could barely stand for 15 mins and sometimes walking was excruciating. Now I've started to regain feeling in my foot, my calf is better than ever. I've been able to go running and I've lost 2 stone. I cant thank Gareth enough and several friends and family have now visited him for treatment, again with some amazing results.

Without treatment it could have been significantly worse so I am extremely thankful.

I have an ongoing back problem that needs attention every few years. It's an old sporting injury…read moreaffecting a couple of vertebrae in the lower portion of my spine. I spent thousands of pounds on conventional medicine (or to more accurate BUPA did), receiving MRI scans, cortisone injections and reasonable regular examinations... all of it doing nothing to remedy the situation. I cannot describe the relief I felt after receiving my first Chiropractic session. I saw a registered Chiropractic and Osteopath, who used both methods to remedy my condition in a single one hour session, and cost me £35.00!!! At this point I had suffered agonizing bouts of back pain for about eight years!!!! Sadly I have lost contact with the practitioner that effected such a miraculous cure. She was so good at what she did that I remained pain free for years. It was only when I re-injured my back a couple of years ago that I tried to track her down. I had moved from Devon to Cardiff, and had lost her contacts in the move. I am aware that some alternative therapists are better than others, and was willing to travel to South Devon for a session with the incredible therapist I'd found there about ten years ago. But, not being able to remember her name, I had no chance of locating her again. Whilst researching my options in the local area I came across Chiropractic 4 Health. They provide something called Network Spinal Analysis and Somato Respiratory Integration, which is an evidence based chiropractic technique that is appropriate for all ages. Utilizing specific, gentle touches to the spine, it offers an innovative approach to chiropractic, and sounds similar to the approach of Osteopathy. I am yet to book an appointment, but having discussed my condition, I feel convinced that Dr Rachael Talbot, who owns the clinic, can help. Now I just need to find the time to pay her a visit! Chiropractic 4 Health treat conditions which include, migraine, post-traumatic stress disorder, back and neck pain, chronic pain conditions, sleeping problems, asthma, allergies, stress and anxiety disorders. "Network spinal analysis is a gentle, evidence based approach to health that improves quality of life with regard to physical complaints, mental / emotional health, stress handling and overall quality of life. It is suitable for all ages from new borns to senior members of society. Only chiropractors can deliver this technique, requiring a minimum of 4 years university education."

For someone who has spent the majority of her working life hunched over a laptop, frequently in…read moreless than ergonomically sound chairs (those comfy sofas can be murder when you're trying to write), I am no stranger to the occasional back twinge or spot of shoulder pain. When my bones start to ache, a few Ibuprofen have generally taken care of things - but last year, after a few particularly heavy weeks at work, I started to develop a back-ache that didn't want to shift. On the recommendation of a friend, I paid a visit to the Cathedral Road Osteopath Clinic for a consultation and massage. I know there is some controversy around the science of (or lack of) at the heart of osteopathy, and I was slightly concerned that I would arrive to a room full of healing crystals and nonsense concerning the alignment of my aura. My fears were dispelled immediately when I entered this converted house on Cathedral Road, which has a reassuring and slightly dull air of conventional medicine. After a short wait, I was given a 40 minute consultation where my posture was checked, I was massaged and a number of bone crunching manoeuvres were applied to my back and shoulders that left me initially a little sore but then, after a day, much much better. It was also reassuring to hear that my posture and alignment were basically sound (although I was suffering from a little tension in the shoulders). I was given some good advice on improving my working environment, and some exercises I could do routinely to keep myself in shape. Open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm, the initial consultation costs £40 - and from my point of view, it was well worth it.
